Le dimanche 10 mars, l’Elysée Montmartre à Paris a été le théâtre d’un concert mémorable, réunissant les talents explosifs de Polaris, Silent Planet, Thornill et Paledusk. L’énergie était au rendez-vous dès le début de la soirée, et chaque groupe a livré une performance remarquable.
On Sunday March 10, the Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris was the scene of a memorable concert, featuring the explosive talents of Polaris, Silent Planet, Thornill and Paledusk. The energy was high from the start of the evening, and each band delivered a remarkable performance.
**Paledusk: Une Introduction Japonaise Explosive**
Paledusk, venu tout droit du Japon, a enflammé la scène sous les cris et les hurlements du public. Malgré une salle à moitié pleine au début, l’énergie était au rendez-vous. Les moshpits se sont formés dès la première chanson, évoluant au fil du set. L’apothéose a été atteinte avec Happy Talk, où la foule connaissait les paroles par cœur. Slay a clôturé le set dans une ambiance de fête, offrant une introduction digne de la soirée.
***Paledusk: An Explosive Japanese Introduction
Paledusk, straight from Japan, set the stage ablaze to the screams and shrieks of the audience. Despite a half-full house at the start, the energy was high. Moshpits formed from the very first song, evolving as the set progressed. The apotheosis was reached with Happy Talk, where the crowd knew the lyrics by heart. Slay closed the set in a festive mood, offering a worthy introduction to the evening.
**Thornill: Les Héros Australiens Tant Attendus**
Les australiens de Thornill entrent sur scène tel des héros, la salle est pleine et très très enthousiaste, et pour cause, nous les attendions depuis plusieurs années !
C’est sur le titre view drop the sun qu’ils ouvrent le bal, ils captivent immédiatement le public, la chanson suivante Coven voit un énorme moshpit se former, dans la fosse ça bouge vraiment pas mal ou ça ferme les yeux, je fais parti de la deuxième team ce soir, je veux vibrer complètement.
La 3e chanson obsession toute nouvellement sortie a été accueillie avec énergie et admiration.
À la fin de Raw, Jacob demande de faire du bruit et de jump un max, le public ne se fait pas prier, puis il demande sur Casanova d’applaudir en rythme là encore tout le monde joue le jeu et un énorme wall of death se forme tout comme à la fin de ce même morceau.
Vocalement Jacob est impressionnant tant dans le chant clair qui parfois me fait penser à celui de Matthew Bellamy, qu’en chant saturé.
Sur le dernier titre where we go when we die le public se déchaîne, ça slam, ça hurle les paroles et ça moshpit.
Thornill nous a complètement embarqués et c’était magnifique!
***Thornill: Australia’s long-awaited heroes
Australia’s Thornill take to the stage like heroes, the room is full and very enthusiastic, and for good reason – we’ve been waiting for them for years!
Their opening track, view drop the sun, immediately captivates the audience, and the following song, Coven, sees a huge moshpit form, with the crowd either moving or closing their eyes. I’m part of the second team tonight, and I want to vibrate completely.
The 3rd song obsession, just released, was greeted with energy and admiration.
At the end of Raw, Jacob asks the crowd to make a lot of noise and jump a lot, and they’re quick to do so. He then asks Casanova to clap along to the beat, and again everyone plays along, creating a huge wall of death, just as they did at the end of the same song.
Vocally, Jacob is impressive both in his clear vocals, which sometimes remind me of Matthew Bellamy’s, and in his saturated vocals.
On the final track,Where We Go When We Die, the crowd goes wild, slamming, screaming lyrics and moshpit.
Thornill took us completely on board, and it was magnificent!
**Silent Planet: Les Poètes du Metalcore**
Les américains de Silent Planet nous proposent avant même de monter sur scène, de l’imagerie sur grand écran derrière eux, qui rajoute des images aux mots et aux maux.
Dès leur premier morceau offworlder la foule est compacte dans la fosse.
Le groupe est très communiquant ils disent qu’ils sont ravis de fouler cette scène parisienne et Garrett ose même quelques mots en français pour remercier le public d’être là et nous demander plus d’énergie. Dès le 3e morceau panopticon la fosse devient incontrôlable, ça moshpit de partout, la maîtrise vocale est impressionnante et le scream est sublime, tout comme la technicité des musiciens!
Sur Euphoria ça slam fort, même Jésus est de la partie ça donne le ton!
Pour introduire panic room, Garrett se confie sur son expérience de la dépression, des cœurs en ombres Chinoises se forment sur le fond blanc derrière le groupe, le public est fou d’émotions, j’aperçois même des larmes, à la fin de ce morceau la salle se sépare en deux parties à la demande de Garrett et fait place à la grosse grosse bagarre.
Avant de démarrer la dernière chanson trilogy le chanteur qui est maintenant torse nu, prêt pour la bagarre lui aussi, nous dit que c’est leur plus gros show en France, le public se déchaîne une dernière fois, et Garrett fini par slammer dans le public en continuant de chanter. Quand il remonte sur scène pour nous saluer, il nous lance un take care plein de bienveillance et on a tous des étoiles plein les yeux, laissant une salle émerveillée.
***Silent Planet: Les Poètes du Metalcore** (Metalcore Poets)
Even before they take to the stage, Silent Planet’s American band offer up some big-screen imagery behind them, adding images to their words and evils.
From their first track, offworlder, the crowd in the pit is packed.
The band are very communicative, saying that they’re delighted to be performing in Paris, and Garrett even dares to say a few words in French to thank the audience for being there and ask for more energy. From the 3rd track, panopticon, the crowd goes out of control, moshpit everywhere, the vocal mastery is impressive and the screaming is sublime, as is the technicality of the musicians!
On Euphoria, the slam is strong, and even Jesus joins in, setting the tone!
To introduce panic room, Garrett opens up about his experience of depression, Chinese shadow hearts form on the white background behind the band, the audience is overcome with emotion, I even see tears, at the end of this song the room splits into two parts at Garrett’s request, and makes way for the big brawl.
Before starting the last song, trilogy, the singer, who is now shirtless and ready for a fight too, tells us that this is their biggest show in France, the crowd goes wild one last time, and Garrett ends up slamming into the audience as he continues to sing. When he returns to the stage to greet us, he gives us a benevolent take care, and we all get stars in our eyes, leaving the room filled with wonder.
**Polaris: L’Explosion Finale**
Polaris: dès leur deuxième titre nightmare ça hurle les paroles, ça jump, ça moshpit énervé direct! Le groupe n’a cessé de remercier le public et de s’émerveiller de jouer dans une salle aussi grande.
Sur landmine ça tape dans les mains en rythme sur le début du morceau et ça chante le refrain en cœur.
Sur overflow et martyr des énormes Moshpits et wall of death se forment , Jésus toujours présent se trouve en plein milieu du circle pit, il fait lui aussi partie des stars de la soirée, Jamie demande le plus gros circle-pit possible, et nombreux se retrouvent collés au mur tellement ce pit est énorme et bouffe les 3/4 de la salle, il pleut de la transpiration.
Le batteur Daniel Furnari vient nous adresser quelques mots en français sur leur mésaventure de bus, (qui est tombé en panne le jour même) et introduit la chanson suivante waves qu’il dédie à son bro (Ryan Siew, leur guitariste décédé l’année dernière) qui n’est plus là mais toujours dans son coeur, il demande alors d’éclairer la salle avec les téléphones afin que ceux qui ne sont plus là puissent nous voir depuis là-haut, un moment d’émotion pure.
Pour le rappel Pray for rain c’est la grosse éclate dans la salle, et enfin remedy clot un concert plein d’énergie!
**Polaris: L’Explosion Finale** (The Final Explosion)
Polaris: from their second track, nightmare, the lyrics were screaming, the jumping, the angry moshpit direct! The band never stopped thanking the audience and marvelling at playing in such a large venue.
On landmine, the crowd clapped along to the beginning of the song and sang along to the chorus.
On overflow and martyr, huge moshpits and wall of death form, and the ever-present Jesus is right in the middle of the circle pit, also one of the stars of the evening. Jamie asks for the biggest circlepit possible, and many find themselves glued to the wall as the pit is so huge it eats up 3/4 of the room, and it’s raining perspiration.
The drummer Daniel Furnari says a few words in French about their bus misadventure (which broke down that very day) and introduces the next song, waves, which he dedicates to his bro (Ryan Siew, their guitarist who died last year), who is no longer with us but still in his heart. He then asks the audience to light up the room with their telephones so that those who are no longer with us can see us from above, a moment of pure emotion.
For the encore, Pray for Rain brought the house down, and finally Remedy closed a concert full of energy!
