Le 22 février, La Boule Noire a été le théâtre d’une expérience musicale exceptionnelle avec le groupe français Celeste, originaire de Lyon. Associant des styles aussi variés que le sludge, le black metal et le post hardcore, le groupe a offert une performance inoubliable.
On February 22, La Boule Noire was the scene of an exceptional musical experience with French band Celeste, from Lyon. Combining styles as varied as sludge, black metal and post-hardcore, the band delivered an unforgettable performance.
Il est environ 19h quand je rejoins le groupe, leur staff et l’équipe de voulez vous danser, l’atmosphère était à la fois décontractée et studieuse, partageant un repas dans la bonne humeur. Les loges vibraient ensuite au son des échauffements, des baguettes frappant, des cordes grattées et des vocalises intenses.
It was around 7pm when I joined the band, their staff and the voulez vous danser team, and the atmosphere was both relaxed and studious, sharing a meal in good spirits. The dressing rooms then vibrated to the sound of warm-ups, drumsticks being struck, strings being strummed and intense vocalizing.
Le spectacle a débuté avec « (A) » sur scène, accompagné d’une vidéo en arrière-plan, déclenchant des cris enthousiastes dans la salle. Celeste a ensuite enchaîné avec « De tes yeux perlés », marquant le début d’un concert mémorable. Sur « Des torrents de coups », le groupe a ajouté des lampes frontales, intensifiant visuellement le spectacle.
The show kicked off with « (A) » on stage, accompanied by a video in the background, triggering enthusiastic shouts from the audience. Celeste followed with « De tes yeux perlés », marking the start of a memorable concert. On « Des torrents de coups », the band added headlamps, visually intensifying the show.
Le concert est complet, avec une salle pleine d’agitation, Celeste ne ménage pas son énergie mais la fosse non plus, ici pas de mosh pit, pas de wall of death, juste une foule pleine d’émotions qui planent à moitié mais qui sait faire entendre sa voix . Celeste, bien que ne communiquant pas verbalement, contrairement à d’autres, ils adressent un geste au public à la fin de chaque morceau! Avant « le cœur noir charbon » et « with idle hands» on peut voir en arrière plan un énorme trigger warning qui annonce les vidéos, en véritable esthète que le groupe est, l’imagerie est magnifique et empli de sens ce qui ajoute une dimension esthétique captivante à la performance.
The concert is sold out, with a room full of agitation, Celeste doesn’t spare its energy but neither does the pit, here no mosh pit, no wall of death, just a crowd full of emotion that half hovers but knows how to make its voice heard. Celeste, although they don’t communicate verbally, unlike others, they do address a gesture to the audience at the end of each song! Before « le cœur noir charbon » and « with idle hands » we see a huge trigger warning in the background, announcing the videos. Like the band’s true aesthetes, the imagery is magnificent and full of meaning, adding a captivating aesthetic dimension to the performance.
Après un rappel de trois chansons, « Comme des amants en reflet », « cette chute brutale » et « Ces belles de rêve aux verres embués », le groupe a quitté la scène, laissant derrière lui un public comblé mais assoiffé de plus. L’épuisement se lisait sur les visages des membres de Celeste en quittant la scène, mais la satisfaction et la joie d’avoir partagé cette communion musicale étaient tout aussi évidentes.
After an encore of three songs, « Comme des amants en reflet », « cette chute brutale » and « Ces belles de rêve aux verres embués », the band left the stage, leaving behind a satisfied audience thirsting for more. Exhaustion was evident on the faces of the Celeste members as they left the stage, but the satisfaction and joy of having shared this musical communion was just as evident.
Un concert sans première partie, Celeste a prouvé qu’ils étaient suffisamment captivants par eux-mêmes. Une invitation au voyage, au partage et à la bonne humeur, ce fut une nuit belle et vibrante. Un grand merci au groupe et à « Voulez-vous danser » pour cette expérience musicale inoubliable.
