[ENGLISH BELOW] Retour sur le concert de Naïka accompagnée par le LowDown Brass Band à L’Alhambra. Nous commençons la soirée avec le LowDown Brass Band, comme son nom l’indique, un groupe de cuivres de Chicago. Ils mélangent hip-hop, reggae, jazz et soul avec une facilité déconcertante.
Sur scène, nous retrouvons sept musiciens : Shane Jonas (chanteur et trompette), Anthony « Billa Camp » Evora (rappeur), Sam Johnson (trompette), Lance Loiselle (sousaphone), Matthew Kowalski (trombone, trompette basse) et Matthew Davis (trombone), John Barbush (batterie). Cela fait beaucoup de monde sur la scène, mais l’espace ne semble pas trop encombré et, ils se déplacent et interagissent bien ensemble.
Au centre de la scène, Shane alterne entre le chant et la trompette tandis qu’Anthony rappe, le mélange de leurs voix et de leurs rythmes personnels fonctionne vraiment bien. Le rap apporte une touche moderne au son soul/jazz de la musique.
Je ne suis pas fumeuse, mais la musique me donne l’envie, d’être en train de chill avec un joint dans la bouche ou de danser un slow paresseux sur la plage au coucher du soleil. Le LowDown Brass Band m’évoque des images de chaleur estivale et de barbecues entourés d’amis et de famille. J’adore !
Le rap d’Anthony est plein d’énergie et de cool, et complète la douceur du chant de Shane et des multiples instruments à vent du groupe. Les interactions de Shane avec le public sont fluides et chaleureuses, Anthony n’est pas aussi ouvert et se retire un peu en arrière lorsqu’il ne chante pas.
Chaque musicien à l’occasion de montrer son talent les uns après les autres, et il n’y a pas de compétition, seulement du soutien et de la fraternité. À la fin de leur prestation, Shane, Anthony et le reste du groupe nous apprennent le Two-step Lowdown, et voici comment ça se passe : “left, left, right, right, take it down, make it right, baby we gonna dance tonight” et on danse tous avec le groupe.
C’était une superbe première partie pour Naïka, qui a amenée encore plus de vibes estivales en apparaissant, telle à une sirène, au milieu de la scène, sous un voile bleu-vert. Son pied de micro, drapé de tissu blanc éthéré et de fleurs, l’attend au milieu de la scène, accompagnée d’un batteur et d’un guitariste/claviériste.
Naïka commence sa prestation, son dos tourné vers le public couvert de voile, avec sa chanson bb., la foule devient folle. Nous avons entendu 21 chansons, donc je ne vais pas vous parler de chacune d’elles, mais je vais plonger un peu dans mes moments préférés du concert.
Une des chansons que j’ai adorée était Guava, j’adore les jeux de mots que Naïka utilise dans les paroles

La foule est un bon mélange de toutes sortes de personnes, nous avons les jeunes filles, les couples de tous âges et tout le reste, qui ont découvert Naïka grâce à ses TikToks ou grâce à son petit ami Saint-Levant, un chanteur palestinien célèbre sur TikTok/Instagram, avec près d’un million de followers sur chaque plateforme.
Lorsqu’elle arrive à la chanson Oh mama, elle nous fait savoir qu’elle l’a écrite pendant une période où elle étudiait loin de sa famille et qu’elle regrettait beaucoup sa maman, nous avons tous été émus à ce moment-là. Elle dédie ensuite la chanson à ses parents, qui étaient sur le balcon, et elle leur envoie un baiser au milieu de la chanson. C’était un moment très tendre.
Le spectacle continue avec le public chantant toutes les chansons, je peux dire, même si beaucoup de fans ont peut-être découvert Naïka grace à sa romance avec Saint-Levant, elle a réussi à conquérir les cœurs des gens. Après quelques chansons de plus, nous entendons les premières notes de la chanson mondialement connue de Beyoncé, Naughty Girl que Naïka reprend avec talent et qui fait danser la foule.
Naïka enchaîne avec l’une de ses chansons les plus célèbres, Ma Chérie, toute la salle chante et danse sur la musique. La chanson est assez accrocheuse et donne envie de bouger et de danser. Ensuite, vient la chanson nommée Pour Gérard qui vient d’une histoire que sa mère lui a racontée. Son grand-oncle Gérard s’est cassé une dent enfant, et cela lui a permis de siffler d’une manière très spécifique, sa mère a trouvé un enregistrement de lui et Naïka a décidé de sampler le sifflement de son oncle pour écrire une chanson autour de l’échantillon fait à partir de l’enregistrement.
Vers la fin du spectacle, Naïka nous parle de sa relation avec son petit ami et du fait qu’ils font le même métier, faire de la musique et écrire des chansons, donc évidemment ils ont écrit une chanson ensemble, et nous avons la chance de l’entendre avant tout le monde, nous n’avons pas le nom de la chanson, mais ils chantent en anglais et en arabe, et c’est bien sûr une chanson d’amour.
Après ce doux duo, Naïka souhaite un joyeux anniversaire à un fan dans le public et chante une autre de ses chansons les plus célèbres, Sauce. Après cette chanson, elle quitte la scène un moment, avant de revenir, accompagnée, pour le rappel.
Pour clore le concert, Naïka revient pour chanter 1+1 avec l’aide de la moitié des membres du LowDown Brass Band, ils nous offrent une super fin à un concert génial.

We start the evening with the LowDown Brass Band, as the name suggest, a brass band from chicago. They mix hip hop, reggae, jazz and soul with disconcerting ease.
On stage, we have seven musicians, Shane Jonas (singer and trumpet),Anthony “Billa Camp” Evora (rapper),Sam Johnson (trumpet), Lance Loiselle (sousaphone), Matthew Kowalski (Trombone, Bass Trumpet) and Matthew Davis (trombone), John Barbush (drums).
That’s a lot of people but the space doesn’t fill crowed and they move and interact well together.
In the center of the stage, Shane alternates between singing and playing trumpets while Anthony raps, the mix of their voices and personal rhythms works really well. The rap brings a modern twist to the soul/ jazz sound of the music.
I’m not a smoker, but the music makes me feel like I should be chilling with a blunt in my mouth or dancing a lazy two-step by the beach as the sun sets. The LowDown Brass Band brings images of summer heat and bbq’s surrounded by friends and family. I love it!
Anthony’s rap is full of energy and cool, and compliments the smoothness of Shane’s singing and the multiple brass instrument of the band. Shane’s interactions with the crowd are fluid and heartwarming, Anthony is not as open and takes more of a step back when he isn’t singing.
Each musician gets to show off their talent one after the other, and there is no competition, only support and brotherhood. By the end of their set, Shane and Anthony and the rest of the band are teaching us the Two-step Lowdown, and it goes as follows: “left, left, right, right, take it down, make it right, baby we gonna dance tonight” and we did dance along with the whole band.
It was a great opening for Naïka, who brought even more summer vibes as she appeared, looking like a mermaid, in the middle of the stage, under a sea foam blue veil. Her mic stand is draped in white, ethereal fabric and flowers and waiting for her in the middle of the stage and she is accompanied by a drummer and a guitarist/ keyboardist.
Naïka starts her set, her back to the audience covered by veil, with her track bb., the crowd goes wiiiild. We got to hear 21 songs so I won’t tell you about each of them but I will dive a little in my favorite moments of the show.

The crowd is a good mix of all different kinds of people, we have the young girls, the couples of all ages, and everyone in between, that have discovered Naïka through her TikToks or through her boyfriend Saint-Levant, a TikTok/ Instagram famous Palestinian singer, with almost a million follower on each platform.
When she gets to the song Oh mama, she lets us know that she wrote it during a time when she was studying away from her family and she missed her mom a lot, we all got emotional at that point. She then dedicated the song to her parents, that were on the balcony, and she blew a kiss towards them halfway through the song. It was such a sweet moment.
The show keeps going with the audience singing along to all the songs, I can tell even though a lot of the fan may have discovered Naïka because of her romance with Saint-Levant she managed to win the hearts of the people. After a few more songs, we hear the first notes of Beyoncé’s world renowned song Naughty Girl.
Naïka follows up with one of her most famous song Ma Chérie, the entire audience is singing and dancing along to the music. The track is quite catchy and makes you want to move and dance. Next is the track named For Gérard that come from a story that her mum told her. Her great uncle Gerard broke a tooth as a child, and it allowed him to whistle in a really specific way, her mom found a Record of him and Naïka decided to sample her uncle’s whistle to write a song around the sample with made from the record.
Towards the end of the show, Naïka tells us about her relationship with her boyfriend and how they have the same job making music and writing songs, so obviously they wrote a song together, and we get to hear it before everyone else, we don’t have the name of the song, but it’s in English and Arabic, and it definitely is a love song.
After this sweet duo, Naïka wishes Happy Birthday to a fan in the audience and sings another one of most famous songs, Sauce. After this track, she leaves the stage for a while, before coming back, accompanied, for the encore.
To close the concert, Naïka come back to sing 1+1 with the help of half the members of the LowDown Brass Band, they give us a great finish to an awesome concert.
