[ENGLISH BELOW] Après un superbe septième album Alestorm s’apprête à sortir son EP Voyage of the Dead Marauder, le 22 Mars 2023 via Napalm Records.
L’EP s’ouvre sur le morceau single éponyme Voyage of the Dead Marauder en feat avec Patty Gurdy.
C’est un morceau pas mauvais, assez entrainant, nous avions déjà eu un feat avec Patty sur Zombies ate my Pirate ship qui était très bien et peut-être suffisant. Patty apporte un peu d’originalité mais est trop présente à mon goût.
Uzbekistan s’inscrit dans la lignée du classique Alestorm avec un milieu de morceau qui part en électro, qui sera sans doute un morceau ravageur en live.
The last Saskatchewan Pirate est une nouvelle version de Pirate’s scorn paru sur Cruse of the cristal coconut.
Sea shanty 2 est un morceau instrumental et enfin Cock vient clore cet EP. Habitués aux injures du groupe ce morceau ne nous choque plus il est dans la lignée de Fucked with an anchor.
Ce n’est pas un mauvais EP mais on pourrait s’attendre à mieux venant du groupe après les derniers albums excellents, vivement le prochain album car Alestorm nous a habitué à mieux.

[ENGLISH VERSION] After a superb seventh album Alestorm is preparing to release its EP Voyage of the Dead Marauder, on March 22, 2023 via Napalm Records.
The album opens with the eponymous single track Voyage of the Dead Marauder featuring Patty Gurdy. It’s not a bad song, quite catchy, we already had a feat with Patty on Zombies ate my Pirate ship which was very good and might be enough. Patty brings a little originality but too present for my taste. Uzbekistan follows the classic Alestorm line with a middle of the song that goes into electro, which will undoubtedly be a devastating song live.
The last Saskatchewan Pirate is a new version of Pirate’s scorn released on Cruse of the crystal coconut.
Sea shanty 2 is an instrumental piece and at the end Cock comes to close this EP accustomed to the insults of the group this piece no longer shocks us it is in the lineage of Fucked with an anchor.
It’s not a bad EP but we could expect better from the band after the last excellent albums, can’t wait for the next album because Alestorm has accustomed us to better.
