Avralize nous a sorti le 14 novembre 2025 leur nouvel album, Liminal via Arising Empire. En à peine quelques années, le groupe originaire du sud de l’Allemagne s’est imposé comme l’un des nouveaux poids lourds du metalcore moderne, porté par un mélange de riffs lourds et travaillés, et de mélodies groovy. Depuis le succès massif de leur premier album FREAKS, véritable manifeste ayant dépassé les cinq millions de streams, le quatuor a construit une ascension fulgurante, entre tournées, festivals et premières parties pour Ghostkid ou Novelists.
Formé par Severin Sailer (chant), Philipp Tenberken (guitare), Bastian Gölz (batterie) et Valentin Noack (basse), Avralize n’a jamais cessé de pousser ses limites. Liminal est un terrain parfait pour un groupe qui a fait de la vulnérabilité un moteur créatif.
Medicine
L’ouverture installe d’emblée une tension intérieure. Medicine parle de réparation, mais sans promesse de guérison immédiate. La musique avance sur un fil assez groovy, marque de fabrique de Avralize, qui rend les morceaux très complets. Entre retenue et explosion, le morceau s’équilibre entre deux fronts opposé mais qui n’en rende pas moins le titre presque “festif”.

Le sentiment de déconnexion prend forme. Ce titre agit comme un flottement mental, une perte de repères où tout semble artificiel. Les textures accentuent cette impression d’irréalité, donnant le sentiment d’évoluer dans un décor vide, instable, où plus rien n’accroche vraiment.
Wanderlust
Un besoin de mouvement s’impose. Wanderlust exprime l’envie de partir, de changer d’air, mais surtout de fuir un état intérieur trop lourd. Derrière l’élan, on sent une quête plus profonde : celle de sens, plus que d’évasion pure. L’énergie reste vive, portée par une forme d’urgence contenue. La dualité est encore très représenté avec l’utilisation d’instruments cuivre et clavier qui rappellent clairement une expression de joie alors que la voix par dans l’expression d’une rage intérieure.
Open spaces.wav
Le morceau respire davantage. Open spaces.wav joue sur l’idée d’ouverture, de distance nécessaires. La production laisse volontairement de l’espace, créant un contraste net avec les titres plus oppressants. Une parenthèse qui agit comme une inspiration.
Close to you
L’album se recentre sur l’intime. Close to you explore la proximité émotionnelle, ce lien qui rassure autant qu’il fragilise. Le morceau évoque l’attachement, la dépendance parfois silencieuse, sans jamais tomber dans l’excès. Une vulnérabilité assumée, directe.
Cyanide
Le ton sonne différent. cyanide évoque une relation ou une situation toxique, quelque chose qui détruit lentement mais sûrement. La tension est constante, presque étouffante. Le morceau agit comme une prise de conscience brutale, sans détour ni embellissement. L’utilisation de sample très électronique assez 80’s donne encore une autre couleur a ce morceau. Le solo de guitare est bien accueilli, il montre la technique et le niveau de ces musiciens incroyable.
Childhood.wav
Retour vers le passé. Childhood.wav aborde l’enfance non pas comme un refuge, mais comme une période fondatrice. La nostalgie est présente, mais teintée d’une mélancolie presque lourde.
Liminal
Titre central et cœur conceptuel de l’album. Liminal incarne l’état de transition, cet entre-deux où rien n’est encore défini. Musicalement et émotionnellement, le morceau avance dans l’incertitude. Il symbolise parfaitement ce moment instable mais nécessaire avant toute évolution.
Bite my tongue
La frustration prend le dessus. Bite my tongue parle de ce qu’on retient, de ce qu’on choisit de taire pour éviter l’explosion. La tension est intérieure, prête à rompre. Le morceau traduit ce silence pesant, souvent plus violent que les mots.
Helium
Une légèreté trompeuse s’installe. Helium donne l’impression de flotter, de s’élever, mais cette montée reste fragile. Derrière l’euphorie, on sent le risque de chute. Un morceau sur l’équilibre instable entre exaltation et vide.
Spinning round and round.wav
La répétition devient enfermement. Ce titre évoque les pensées qui tournent en boucle, l’incapacité à avancer malgré le mouvement apparent. La musique accentue cette sensation de vertige mental, presque hypnotique, traduisant l’épuisement psychologique.
Upside down
Les repères se brouillent. upside down parle d’un monde inversé, de certitudes qui s’effondrent. Mais dans ce chaos, une autre lecture devient possible : celle d’une remise à plat nécessaire, douloureuse mais lucide.
Like a boomerang
Ce qui est repoussé finit par revenir. Le morceau évoque les cycles émotionnels, les erreurs répétées, les schémas qu’on pense avoir quittés. Avralize traite cette fatalité avec retenue, sans jugement, presque avec résignation.
Fading faster
Clôture introspective et discrète. Fading faster parle de l’effacement progressif, du sentiment de s’éloigner de soi ou des autres. Pas d’explosion finale ici, mais une forme d’acceptation calme, fidèle à l’atmosphère globale de Liminal.
Avec Liminal, Avralize signe un album centré sur l’état de transition, cet entre-deux inconfortable où tout vacille sans encore se reconstruire. Le disque avance comme un chemin intérieur, alternant tension, respiration et introspection, sans chercher de réponses faciles. Chaque morceau participe à cette traversée, qu’il s’agisse de fuite, de confrontation, de souvenirs ou d’épuisement émotionnel. Avralize released their new album Liminal on November 14, 2025, via Arising Empire. In just a few years, the band from southern Germany has established itself as one of the new heavyweights of modern metalcore, driven by a blend of heavy, carefully crafted riffs and groovy melodies. Since the massive success of their debut album FREAKS, a true manifesto that surpassed five million streams, the quartet has built a rapid rise through tours, festivals, and support slots for bands like Ghostkid and Novelists.

Medicine
The opening track immediately sets an inner tension. Medicine speaks of repair, but without any promise of instant healing. The music moves along a fairly groovy thread, a trademark of Avralize, giving the track a strong sense of completeness. Caught between restraint and explosion, the song balances two opposing fronts, yet still manages to sound almost “festive.”

Beneath the momentum lies a deeper search: one for meaning rather than pure escapism. The energy remains vivid, carried by a contained sense of urgency. Duality is once again strongly present, with the use of brass and keyboard instruments clearly evoking joy, while the vocals dive into an expression of inner rage.

The track breathes more freely. Open spaces.wav plays with the idea of openness and necessary distance. The production deliberately leaves room, creating a clear contrast with the more oppressive tracks. A pause that feels like taking a breath.
Close to you
The album turns back toward intimacy. Close to you explores emotional closeness, a bond that reassures as much as it weakens. The track evokes attachment, sometimes silent dependence, without ever tipping into excess. A vulnerability that is assumed and direct.
Cyanide
The tone shifts. Cyanide evokes a toxic relationship or situation, something that slowly but surely destroys. The tension is constant, almost suffocating. The track feels like a brutal realization, with no detours or embellishment. The use of heavily electronic, almost ’80s-style samples gives the song another layer of color. The guitar solo is particularly welcome, showcasing the impressive technique and level of these musicians.

Helium
A deceptive lightness sets in. Helium gives the impression of floating, of rising, but this ascent remains fragile. Beneath the euphoria lies the risk of falling. A track about the unstable balance between exhilaration and emptiness.
