[ENGLISH BELOW] Invincible Shield est le 19ème album du groupe Britannique Judas Priest qui est sorti le 8 Mars 2024 via Sony Music.
Apres un très bon Firepower, l’album commence en puissance avec Panic Attack, premier single, c’est un retour en 1986 direct qui me ramène à l’époque de Turbo lover, le morceau s’accélère par le suite, la voix de Rob Halford n’a pas pris une ride.
The Serpent and The King enchaine direct avec des riffs de Richie Faulkner parfaitement bien exécutés, un refrain très entêtant, morceau assez prog’ quand même.
Le titre éponyme commence par une batterie reconnaissable , la voix aiguë de Rob comme à l’époque ; le morceau se différencie par ses enchainements de solos magistraux. Devil In Disguise est un morceau plus lent mais qui explose assez vite. Gates of Hell ou encore Crown of Horns mettent en avant la guitare de Richie, ce sont de bon morceaux au bon tempo qui embraseront la foule dès qu’ils seront joués. Crown of Horns est vraiment exceptionnel avec le mélange de tonalités de la voix de Rob, je pense mon morceau préféré de l’album, avec un message à faire passer sur la vie de Rob. As good is my witness reprend le rythme par rapport au morceau précédent Rob exécute à la perfection des changements vocaux que seul lui maitrise.
Trial by fire, Escape from reality poursuivent bien ce bombardement de bon riffs dont seul Judas Priest a le secret même après 50 ans de carrière.
Sons of thunder est reconnaissable avec les riffs de Glenn Tipton ( atteint de la maladie de parkinson), ça fait plaisir de voir qu’il est quand même sur l’album.
Giant in the sky est tout aussi épique, un morceau bien abouti avec une partie accoustique.
Fight for your life est plus Rock avec cette entrée en matière à la guitare, la voix aiguë de Rob toujours inégalable.
Vicious circle et The loger clôturent parfaitement bien l’album, c’est un belle fin épique.
Même après 50 ans de carrière et des changements de line up, Judas Priest sait toujours contenter ses fans avec un très bon album!

[ENGLISH VERSION] Invincible Shield is the 19th album by British band Judas Priest which was released on March 8, 2024 via Sony Music.
After a very good Firepower, the album begins powerfully with Panic attack, the first single, it’s a direct return to 1986 which takes me back to the time of Turbo lover, the song accelerates afterwards, Rob Halford‘s voice has not took a wrinkle.
The Serpent and the King continues directly with perfectly well executed Richie Faulkner riffs, a very catchy chorus, quite a prog piece all the same.
The title track begins with recognizable drums, Rob‘s high-pitched voice like back in the day; the piece is differentiated by its sequences of masterful solos.
Devil in disguise is a slower song but it explodes quite quickly. Gates of Hell and Crown of Horns highlight Richie‘s guitar, these are good songs at the right tempo that will embrace the crowd as soon as they are played. Crown of horns is truly exceptional with the mix of tones of Rob‘s voice, I think my favorite track on the album, with a message to convey about Rob‘s life.
As good is my witness picks up the rhythm from the previous piece Rob perfectly executes vocal changes that only he masters.
Trial by fire, Escape from reality continue this bombardment of good riffs of which only Judas Priest has the secret even after 50 years of career.
Sons of thunder is recognizable with the riffs of Glenn Tipton (suffering from Parkinson’s disease), it’s nice to see that he’s still on the album.
Giant in the sky is just as epic, a well-finished piece with an acoustic part.
Fight for your life is more rock with this introduction on the guitar, Rob‘s high voice always incomparable.
Vicious Circle and The Loger close the album perfectly, it’s a beautiful epic ending.
Even after 50 years of career and line-up changes, Judas Priest still knows how to satisfy its fans with a very good album.
