[ENGLISH VERSION] 7:30 pm : La Cigale offers us to attack on a Tuesday night with an opening act named James & The Cold Gun, a band that will make sure to set the mood before the Eagles of Death Metal. With a room with perfect acoustics, the band members make their riffs resonate and capture the ears of the audience with a formidable efficiency not hiding their joys to open for the Eagles. And the best way to make it known is to play an expressive rock without jumping in all directions, only the artists’ play on their instruments counts. Despite an audience that will remain without moving (a few positive nods) there will be a lot of applause at the end of the 30-minute concert given by the James.
8:30 pm: A country music sounds and signs the entrance of the band to Jesse Hughes who is extremely happy but also moved, tears in the eyes. Everyone knows what the band and its audience went through on the night of November 13, 2015, which explains the singer’s emotion. 5 minutes later, the band has turned on the amps and intends to make us feel other emotions such as joy by starting the show with I Want You So Hard from the album Death By Sexy, which will be played entirely because the tour is in honor of this album that celebrates its 20th birthday. The songs on the album will be frantically linked, the audience will dance to the rhythm of the guitars, jump to the rhythm of the drums and that without forgetting to cheer many times Jesse who will even bring his wife on stage to make hearts all along the concert. Jesse is in an Olympic form tonight and will let us know many times with a guitar pick squirt, a beer drunk at a draught and a push against the barrier to be as close as possible to his audience. He will even pass through the audience during Complexity, cover of Boots Electric.
The concert did not stop with the album Death By Sexy and the frontman gives the impression of never wanting to stop, he moves constantly accompanied by these musicians who set both the tone and the rhythm, pure rock’n’roll!! Come on, it’s time for the surprise with the group who are inviting about twenty people on stage, all moved and happy to be there. We understand that these are people present at the concert on November 13 and they will all perform together You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers. After a thunderous applause, some people will leave the stage without having hugged and kissed each member of the band beforehand, then Hughes will perform just as poignant: David Bowie’s Heroes. The emotion is at its peak and tears will be shed throughout the song, tears of hope!
Of course, Jesse still has energy and will go up this time to the audience sitting on the balcony to play with his guitarist, stay on stage, to whom the best solos of the evening will be played, a beautiful performance that will shine even more when Jesse will lend his guitar to a member of the audience who will offer us very beautiful notes until impressing the entire room. Continuing solo on solo, they will give way to the drummer and the bassist who will do a passage of Ace of Space by Motörhead. The two guitarists can only bow!! Then the rock tornado resumes when inflatable balloons like American gas stations make a surprise appearance, the whole pit loses control and launches into a furious pogo.
Rock music that evening had some excellent emissaries, I’ll mention again the Eagles of the Death Metal who made us dance, cry and vibrate for 1 hour 45. Jesse promises us to come back very soon to live again an exceptional evening in the French capital, we’re waiting for that!!
