[ENGLISH VERSION] For the last date of their European tour, Guilt Trip put down those suitcases full of breakdown and very heavy scream at the Alhambra with the sole aim of breaking the necks of all the spectators. And good news, the band bringing not 1, not 2 but 3 hardcore bands in support of what was not easy for an audience ready to fight.
6:30 PM : Long Goodbye arrives and the band shows a big smile when they discover a pit already separated in two and an audience ready to launch a mosh pit of all the devils. The singer then uses ultra powerful growls while the musicians, unleashing, move on stage at least as much as the spectators. Of course, as in any good hardcore concert, the first rows are compressed against the stage but the joy is still present, especially thanks to the relentless playing of the guitarist who ends in sweat just after the first completed piece. Long Goodbye, so I’m ready for the next part with a good dose of violence and thanks to a damn talented guitarist !
7:15 PM: Justice for the Damned arrives and more people have gathered in the middle of the pit for a second round of fighting!! This band will be less brutal in their way of playing, more calm, with less aggressive riffs but with more than pleasant notes to hear (the audience will even jump as if we were at a Limp Bizkit concert). The breakdown of almost every track is marked with a blank just before letting the chaos spread like wildfire, and this was encouraged by the frontman who always asks for more people in the pit (‘Fuck this place Up’ will he say!). Always get involved, he will also ask that we take the hand of a loved one and bring him into a circle pit which, being immense for a room of 600/700 people, will have a ventilatory effect and diffuse the energetic heat of the audience throughout the room. Note that he will also have initiated the first wall of death of the evening and will be acclaimed for it!
8:15 PM: The penultimate band Judiciary will be a little slower to start but 5 minutes later, the energy instilled by the two previous bands was found again with tracks perfectly mixing what we had previously discovered (arms in the air, jump, deep and heavy voice as well as solos at extra charge, very pleasant to hear). The singer sets the tone and rhythm of the set by screaming with all these forces (HEY HEY, screaming several times) accompanied by the furious drummer, it made me wonder who would make the most noise between the two! The humorous touch of the evening will be offered during this concert by the audience when, in the middle of a circle, a few lads will lift someone to carry him on their shoulders. To put it in perspective, we would have said a human ram!! Really fun to see, especially since they did it twice !!
9:10 PM: Come on, time for the less daring to leave the front rows, Guilt Trip is coming in to give us some face!! With a drum set adorned with his devil and his angel (one on each side) and a backdrop from their latest album, the stage remains simple and therefore leaves room for the twenty or so people who have waited until then to go on stage and jump into the audience without even worrying about landing properly. But at least the frontman keeps room to move and do his favorite dance step: the 2 step, a dance that his audience will imitate without getting tired. A nice show to see both on stage and in the pit, and if it’s not enough, just look at the cups flying all over the place ! In terms of vocalization, the two guitarists of the band are blowing up all the scores tonight, to believe that there aren’t three weeks of tour behind them, they have practically a fucking voice, one after the other, ensuring the most powerful parts of each song. Guilt Trip will thank us to be present to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the band with them and their best gift will be a pit completely separated in two from the beginning to the end, which will leave room for total chaos, from hardcore to the raw state. To finish in apotheosis, the band will offer its eponymous track accompanied by the singer of Judiciary before launching the iconic intro of the song from Machine Head: Davidian for the public’s pleasure.
1 hour later, a lot of energy was spent by all the groups and almost all the audience. A big hardcore party that proves that Guilt Trip is ready to move on to the next level, but… is the audience ready?
