[ENGLISH BELOW] Huit ans après son dernier album Coming Home, Peter Tägtgren : Pain nous offre I Am qui est sorti le 17 mai 2024 chez Nuclear Blast.
L’album s’ouvre sur I just dropped by (to say goodbye) qui commence à vive allure, le ton est donné avec des gros riffs bien agressifs et ce chant clair prenant d’une rage certaine.
Il y a ce coté Techno que Peter laisse au placard pour Hypocrisy mais que nous aimons retrouver dans Pain.
Don’t wake the dead commence par une intro orchestrale avant de sombrer dans les émotions véhiculées par Peter et ses mélodies assez 80″s comme dans Go with the flow, Not for sale sont assez dans le même rythme festif.
Revolution est le 3eme single sorti pour cet album avec vraiment cette marque de Pain propre à lui, Peter nous offre un chant lugubre et prenant.
Party in my head a rejoint l’album plus besoin de partager cet hymne des confinements sorti en 2021.
I am le titre éponyme est un titre plus lourd, des paroles lourdes de sens et une mélodie puissante de Pain qui fait du bon Pain .
Push the pusher ou the new norm sont des titre dansants comme tout l’album où on voit clairement que Peter se lâche plus par rapport à Hypocrisy.
My angel est un titre en duo avec l’actrice française Cecile Siméone qui a plus de dix ans maintenant , c’est un titre mélancolique assez sympathique mais un peu un ovni sur cet album. Vient enfin Fair game qui vient clore cet album d’une très bonne façon, le chant clair de Peter est très bien maitrisé, la mélodie est mélancolique avec les violons qui donnent un coté triste.
C’est un très bon album que nous offre Pain 8 ans après Coming Home, Peter n’a rien perdu du rythme party hard que nous aimons retrouver dans Pain.

The album opens with I just dropped by (to say goodbye) which starts at a brisk pace, the tone is set with big, very aggressive riffs and these clear vocals take on a certain rage.
There is this techno side that Peter leaves in the closet for Hypocrisy but we like to find in Pain.
Don’t wake the dead begins with an orchestral intro before sinking into the emotions conveyed by Peter and its rather 80s melodies like in Go with the flow, Not for sale are quite in the same festive rhythm.
Revolution is the 3rd single released for this album with really this brand of Pain specific to him, Peter offers us a lugubrious and gripping song.
Party in my head has joined the album, no need to share this confinement anthem released in 2021.
I am the eponymous title is a heavier title, with heavy lyrics with meaning, with a powerful melody from Pain that makes good Pain.
Push the pusher or The new norm are danceable tracks like the whole album where we clearly see that Peter lets loose more compared to Hypocrisy.
My angel is a duet title with the French actress Cecile Siméone, who is more than ten years old now, it is a quite nice melancholy title but a bit of a UFO on this album.
Finally comes Fair Game which closes this album in a very good way, Peter‘s clear singing is very well mastered, the melody is melancholy with the violins which give a sad side.
It’s a very good album that Pain offers us 8 years after Coming Home. Peter has lost none of the hard party rhythm that we like to find in Pain.
