Knocked Loose était de retour en France ce 21 mars pour une date à Paris, au Bataclan. C’est accompagné de trois premières partie que les américains venaient cette fois-ci pour leur tournée européenne : Pest Control, Harms Way et Basement. Après un album, intitulé *You won’t go before you’re supposed to* , sorti en 2024 et que nous avions adoré à la rédac, nous avions vraiment hâte de revoir Knocked Loose en live pour entendre ces nouveaux titres. Nous n’étions pas les seuls puisque la date affichait complet depuis plusieurs semaines, les fans ayant répondu présents !

Pest Control
Il est 19h pile quand Pest Control prend place sur la scène du Bataclan. L’introduction ressemble à la bande son d’un film, le tout est super épique. Au programme, le groupe de Trash metal britannique nous présente une femme au chant et de gros solos de guitare. Si on n’entends pas bien la voix de la vocaliste ce qui est fort dommage, le public semble être prêt à tout donner et on assiste à du two step dès le début du set de Pest Control. Le Bataclan est encore loin d’être rempli, ça promet une ambiance de fou pour Knocked Loose en fin de soirée !
Le groupe prend très peu la parole, préférant enchainer les sons super rapidement. Leah remerciera brièvement le public de sa présence ce soir entre deux titres. Les anglais réussiront à lancer le premier premier circle pit de la soirée, une première partie qui aura bien chauffer le public parisien. À la fin de leur set le Bataclan est pleins à craquer ! C’est en tout simplicité que la formation quitte la scène après un set court mais efficace : dix titres dont leur plus connus tel que *Masquerade Party* ou *Year of the Pest*.
Harms Way
Il est 19h40 quand c’est au tour de Harms Way d’entrer en scène et, immédiatement le public bouge beaucoup ! Le groupe propose des sonorités plus lourdes et boostées par une basse très présente. Les choses « sérieuses » commencent dans le pit désormais actif de tout les fans présents dans la salle. Les premiers crowdsurfers font déjà leur apparition ! James, le leader vocal prendra pas mal la parole pour remercier le public et les faire crier entre les titres.
Le groupe de hardcore punk américain propose des titres très énergiques avec un effet d’écho parfois trop présent et qui casse le rythme. Nous ne connaissions pas mais nous avons aimé leur énergie sur scène malgré cela ! Le set des américains se fini par *Infestation*, le public saute en rythme avec les musiciens. Il est déjà temps pour la formation de conclure par un « thank you, we’re Harms Way !«
Basement
Basement, beaucoup plus rock et joyeux, entre en scène à 20h25 et est salué par ses nombreux fans présents au Bataclan pour l’occasion. Le pit super vénère sur Harms way a laissé place aux fans qui hurlent les paroles gentiment avec le leader vocal et aux nombreux crowdsurfers. Si nous pensions que le public serai très calme c’est cependant faux : c’est du rock anglais bien solide que propose Basement mais la fosse, elle, est constitué du public de Knocked Loose, c’est donc mouvementé !
Le chanteur, très good vibe prend la parole et annonce : « We’re a band called Basement from England« . Il remercie le public d’avoir pris de son temps pour venir les voir ainsi que Knocked Loose de les avoir invité sur la tournée.
Niveau setlist le public semblera très content à chaque titre : le groupe finit bien évidemment par contre titre le plus connus : *Covet*. Un moment calme avant l’explosion pour Knocked Loose !
Knocked Loose
21h20 sonne et Knocked Loose entre enfin en scène sur l’intro de son dernier album : des bruits de bols tibétains. Dans la fosse ça forme déjà un grand espace, c’est sûr, ce sera mouvementé ! Le public hurle et on peut le dire : c’est un bordel monstre. À son arrivée sur scène le vocaliste de la formation, Bryan Garris hurle à son tour :
« PARIIIIS HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ? ARE YOU HAVING ?FUN ARE YOU FEELING CRAZY ? »
Il n’en fallait pas plus pour motiver les dernières personnes d’une foule déjà en délire.
Le groupe de hardcore américain ne laisse aucun répit au public : *Thirst* est suivi de *Deep in the willow*, l’intensité du concert ne redescendra pas de tout le set ! Multipliant les singles tirés du dernier album ainsi que des titres plus anciens dans sa discographie, la formation enchaîne les titres dans une efficacité à toute épreuve. Le public, quant à lui, arrive à suivre la cadence tout en suivant les demandes du frontman : les circle pit s’enchaînent, le two step a peu de place dans ce Bataclan si rempli mais le public parviens à en faire, les crowdsurfeurs sont également de la partie !
Notons également que la scène de Knocked Loose était particulièrement sympa, rendant hommage à son dernier opus, on y retrouvera un décor d’église avec, bien sûr, cette grande croix en néon présente sur la cover de *You won’t go before you’re supposed to*. La question se pose au cours du set : quand s’allumera t-elle ? C’est bien sûr sur *Blinding Faith* que nous aurons droit à l’effet de surprise. Placée dans la dernière partie de la setlist, l’éclairage de sa grande croix ne passera pas inaperçue !
La fin du concert d’ailleurs sera un immense ras de marée, *Blinding Faith* fait suite à *Everything is quiet now* pendant laquelle le public organise un wall of death géant. La tension sera loooooin de redescendre puisque la très attendue *Counting Worms* suivra pas loin derrière. Et l’attente est telle que Bryan n’aura pas vraiment à chanter les paroles !
Le concert se finira par l’incroyable *Suffocate*, une chanson elle aussi très attendue par son public. Le chanteur de la formation prendra la parole pour demander du crowdsurfing massif pour finir le set en beauté sur *Sit and Mourn*. À la surprise des vigiles, il insiste sur le fait qu’il veut voir des gens surfer tout le long du titre, et il est vrai que c’est l’un des titres les plus longs de ce set !
Nous repartons du Bataclan une fois de plus conquis par la prestation de Knocked Loose qui ne déçoit jamais en live ! On ne peut que recommander d’aller les voir pour comprendre l’ambiance qui se dégage de leur prestation. Côté setlist le concert aura sembler passer aussi vite d’un éclair, les américains nous ont néanmoins gâté de dix-huit titres !

Knocked Loose returned to France on March 21st for a date in Paris, at the Bataclan. This time, the Americans were accompanied by three opening acts for their European tour: Pest Control, Harms Way, and Basement. After an album, entitled *You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To*, released in 2024 and which we at the editorial office loved, we were really looking forward to seeing Knocked Loose live again to hear these new tracks. We weren’t the only ones, as the date had been sold out for several weeks, with fans showing up in force!

Pest Control
It was 7 p.m. sharp when Pest Control took the stage at the Bataclan. The introduction sounded like the soundtrack to a movie; the whole thing was super epic. On the program, the British trash metal band introduced us to a female vocalist and some big guitar solos. Although the vocalist’s voice isn’t clearly audible, which is a shame, the crowd seems ready to give it their all, and we hear two-stepping from the very beginning of Pest Control‘s set. The Bataclan is still far from full, which promises a crazy atmosphere for Knocked Loose at the end of the evening!
The band speaks very little, preferring to play songs super quickly. Leah briefly thanks the audience for their presence tonight between two songs. The English band manages to launch the first circle pit of the evening, an opening act that really gets the Parisian crowd going. At the end of their set, the Bataclan is packed! The band leaves the stage with ease after a short but effective set: ten songs, including their most famous songs such as *Masquerade Party* and *Year of the Pest*.
Harms Way
It’s 7:40 pm when Harms Way takes the stage, and immediately, the crowd is moving! The band offers heavier sounds, boosted by a very present bass. Things get « serious » in the now active pit, with all the fans present in the venue. The first crowdsurfers are already appearing! James, the lead vocalist, speaks quite a bit to thank the audience and get them screaming between songs.
The American hardcore punk band offers very energetic songs with an echo effect that’s sometimes too present and breaks the rhythm. We weren’t familiar with them, but we loved their energy on stage despite it! The Americans’ set ends with *Infestation*, with the audience jumping in time with the musicians. It’s already time for the band to conclude with a « Thank you, we’re Harms Way! »
Basement
Basement, much more rock and roll and joyful, takes the stage at 8:25 pm and is greeted by the many fans present at the Bataclan for the occasion. The super-excited pit on « Harms Way » gives way to fans who gently shout the lyrics along with the lead vocalist and the many crowdsurfers. If we thought the crowd would be very calm, that’s wrong: Basement is playing solid English rock, but the crowd is made up of Knocked Loose‘s audience, so it’s lively!
The singer, with a very good vibe, takes the stage and announces: « We’re a band called Basement from England. » He thanks the audience for taking the time to come see them, as well as Knocked Loose for inviting them on the tour.
Set-wise, the crowd seems very happy with each song: the band obviously ends with their most famous track: *Covet*. A quiet moment before the explosion for Knocked Loose!
Knocked Loose
9:20 p.m. strikes, and Knocked Loose finally takes the stage to the intro of their latest album: the sounds of Tibetan singing bowls. The crowd is already a large space, and it’s sure to be lively! The audience roars, and it’s safe to say: it’s a hell of a mess. Upon his arrival on stage, the band’s vocalist, Bryan Garris, shouts in turn:
« PARIIIIS HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? ARE YOU HAVING? FUN? ARE YOU FEELING CRAZY? »
That’s all it took to motivate the remaining members of an already delirious crowd.
The American hardcore band gives the audience no respite: Thirst is followed by *Deep in the Willow*; the intensity of the concert doesn’t let up throughout the set! Multiplying singles from their latest album as well as older tracks from their discography, the band delivers one song after another with unfailing efficiency. The audience, meanwhile, manages to keep pace while following the frontman’s instructions: the circle pits follow one after the other, the two-step is scarce in this packed Bataclan, but the audience manages to do it, and the crowdsurfers are also there!
It’s also worth noting that the Knocked Loose stage was particularly nice, paying homage to his latest album. It features a church-like setting with, of course, the large neon cross featured on the cover of *You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To.* The question arises during the set: when will it light up? It’s of course during *Blinding Faith* that we’ll be treated to the element of surprise. Placed in the last part of the setlist, the illumination of his large cross won’t go unnoticed!
The end of the concert will be a huge tidal wave, *Blinding Faith* follows *Everything Is Quiet Now*, during which the audience creates a giant wall of death. The tension will be far from easing, as the highly anticipated *Counting Worms* will follow not far behind. And the anticipation is so high that Bryan won’t actually have to sing the lyrics!
The concert will end with the incredible *Suffocate,* a song also eagerly awaited by the audience. The band’s singer will take the floor to request massive crowdsurfing to end the set in style with *Sit and Mourn.* To the security guards’ surprise, he insists that he wants to see people crowdsurfing throughout the entire song, and it’s true that it’s one of the longest songs of this set!
We leave the Bataclan once again captivated by Knocked Loose‘s performance, which never disappoints live! We highly recommend going to see them to truly appreciate the atmosphere emanating from their performance. As for the setlist, the concert seemed to go by in a flash, but the Americans nevertheless treated us to eighteen songs!
