[ENGLISH BELOW]
Malgré l’envie d’être épique Die With A Sword In My Hand et Hammer Of Fate , restent assez molles dans leurs mélodies.

[ENGLISH VERSION]
The British power metal band Gloryhammer presents its new album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, available October 16, 2026, on Napalm Records.
This journey into the heart of science fiction opens with Ultra Portam Asterlam, an instrumental introduction that could accompany any scene from your favorite sci-fi movies and TV shows—so get ready for Ultimate Sacrifice and its epic rhythm as it sets off on an adventure into this reality. This time, with On A Quest For Aaberdeen, we follow one of our heroes on a quest, accompanied by music that perfectly captures the highs and lows of the mission. Despite their desire to be epic, Die With A Sword In My Hand and Hammer Of Fate remain somewhat lackluster in their melodies. A new opportunity to create a memorable song—and this time, Silver Talon and Demonic Devotion pull it off.
A new chapter begins with Starfighters of Leuchars, which feels more like an opening than the rest, and it’s the first time we see true continuity in the story. In Warriors of Auchtermuchty, we get a bit of that “old-school” Gloryhammer vibe, and it’s quite reassuring to know that they’re still eager to tell stories, each more extravagant than the last—with a nice surprise in Pax Galactica and its melody that highlights the synth. The only track that comes close to matching the first one is The Celestial Warhost of the Dundonian Empire Marches to Space Against the Dark Sorcerer: Final Assault on Battlemoon X-22—and yes, that’s the actual title. At 12 minutes long, it’s a bit of a slog, but it’s worth it; we’ll let you form your own opinion.
Gloryhammer delivers a pretty solid album overall. Despite a lack of vocal power—which would have added some much-needed aggression—it’s still a superb album that will appeal to sci-fi fans.
