[ENGLISH BELOW] Les allemands d’Elvellon reviennent avec un second album intitulé Ascending In Synergy, disponible à partir du 17 Mai 2024 et produit par le label Napalm Records.
Le groupe est composé de Nele Messerschmidt (chant), Gilbert Gelsdorf (Guitare), Jan Runkel (Basse), Martin « Maddin » Klüners (Batterie et percussions) ainsi que de Pascal Pannen (Claviers).
L’album s’ouvre sur Unbound, qui nous propose une magnifique entrée dans l’univers du groupe avec la pureté du Symphonique mais aussi le côté pêchu du Metal. Un bon départ pour cet opus qui promet une sacrée histoire, notamment avec A Vagabond’s Heart qui en plus d’être dans la continuité, reste dans la tête avec sa mélodie rythmique et la prouesse vocale de la chanteuse. Une chanson qui peut résonner dans le cœur de tous les fans de Metal Symphonique.
My Forever Endeavour propose une belle introduction remplie de monts et merveilles avec le clavier qui est beaucoup plus mis en avant. Exactement comme Ocean Of Treason qui en plus du clavier nous offre une accentuation du côté épique et qui donne envie de partir tuer du titan ou d’exorciser les démons.
Avec The Aftermath Of Life on s’octroie une légère pause, mais très légère car qui a dit que le Metal était mort… Et encore une fois ce groupe nous le prouve qu’ils n’en ont pas fini et que surtout ils savent bien gérer les variations de rythmes et les montées en octave de leur chanteuse. Mais la ballade de l’album c’est Last Of Our King qui en hérite avec une douceur qui fait du bien.
Puis Into The Vortex prends le relai en essayant de nous duper sur le fait que c’est une deuxième ballade mais QUE NENNI puisque le reste des instruments arrive pour nous en mettre encore une fois plein la vue. Cette chanson est l’un de mes coups de cœur. C’est au tour cette fois – ci de A Legacy Divine de balancer la purée au niveau des chœurs et là ils ont mis le paquet pour le plus grand bonheur de nos oreilles, avec en prime une petite interlude clavier de que j’imagine facilement se transformer en clapping en live.
Alors maintenant il faut se préparer à 9 minutes de douceur à l’état pur avec The Aeon Tree. Coupé entre les longues parties instrumentales où l’imagination prends vite le dessus, les parties chantées par la chanteuse et les discours de philosophie et de self motivation contés par une voix masculine non identifiée mais au timbre incroyable qui fait résonner les nombreux messages au plus profond de moi. Cette chanson est un bijou de conception. Et c’est la fin du périple avec Epiphany Of Mine qui nous offre un joli mélange de tout ce que l’on peut ressentir tout au long de l’écoute.
Elvellon vient de sortir un album d’une beauté sans égale. Un bijou que je recommande TRES fortement a tous les fans de Metal Symphonique en quête de bande sonore pour leur imagination, ou tout simplement fan du genre. Un groupe dont je vais suivre l’actualité et que j’irai voir en live à la première occasion.

Germany’s Elvellon return with a second album entitled Ascending In Synergy, available from May 17, 2024 and produced by Napalm Records.
The band consists of Nele Messerschmidt (vocals), Gilbert Gelsdorf (guitar), Jan Runkel (bass), Martin « Maddin » Klüners (drums and percussion) and Pascal Pannen (keyboards).
The album opens with Unbound, a magnificent entry into the band’s universe, with the purity of Symphonic, but also the punch of Metal. A good start for this opus, which promises a hell of a story, especially with A Vagabond’s Heart, which is not only in continuity, but also sticks in the head with its rhythmic melody and the vocal prowess of the singer. A song that can resonate in the hearts of all Symphonic Metal fans.
My Forever Endeavour features a beautiful, wonder-filled introduction, with the keyboards much more to the fore. Exactly like Ocean Of Treason, which, in addition to the keyboards, gives us an accentuation of the epic side that makes you want to go out and kill titans or exorcise demons.
The Aftermath Of Life gives us a slight break, but a very slight one, because who said metal was dead? And once again, the band proves that they’re not done yet, and that they know how to manage rhythmic variations and octave rises from their singer. But the ballad of the album is Last Of Our King, which inherits it with a sweetness that does us good.
Then Into The Vortex takes over, trying to fool us into thinking it’s a second ballad, but THAT’S NONSENSE, as the rest of the instruments come in to blow us away once again. This song is one of my favorites. This time, it’s A Legacy Divine’s turn to throw down the gauntlet in terms of backing vocals, and they’ve pulled out all the stops to the delight of our ears, with the added bonus of a little keyboard interlude that I can easily imagine turning into a live clap.
So now get ready for 9 minutes of pure sweetness with The Aeon Tree. Cut between long instrumental parts where the imagination quickly takes over, the parts sung by the singer and the speeches of philosophy and self-motivation told by an unidentified but incredibly timbred male voice that makes the many messages resonate deep inside me. This song is a jewel of conception. And that’s the end of the journey with Epiphany Of Mine, which offers us a lovely blend of everything we can feel throughout the listening experience.
Elvellon has just released an album of unparalleled beauty. A jewel that I VERY strongly recommend to all fans of Symphonic Metal in search of a soundtrack for their imagination, or simply a fan of the genre. A band whose news I’ll be following, and who I’ll be going to see live at the earliest opportunity.
