En tant que bon fan de Deftones je ne pouvais pas m’empêcher de m’intéresser à ce projet secondaire, en tombant amoureux tout de suite. Crosses, la collaboration electronique-rock entre le chanteur de Deftones Chino Moreno et le guitariste Shaun Lopez, ont sortis leur album tant attendu, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete en octobre dernier. Il s’agit de leur première sortie d’album en 9ans et fait suite à l’EP PERMANENT.RADIANT de 2022.
Enfin, le jour est arrivé. Nous sommes à la mi-juin et quelque chose de spécial est sur le point de se produire. La soirée commence à 20h, un coup d’œil au merch, un verre au bar, et puis c’est parti. Les lumières s’éteignent, le spectacle commence.
VOWWS
Vowws, les ouvreurs de la soirée, montent sur scène. Le groupe offre au public un avant-goût de leur death pop original. Ils proposent un répertoire de chansons au son accrocheur, sans renoncer à l’atmosphère sombre, fusionnant merveilleusement des influences différentes. Leurs sons chauds et sombres enveloppent les personnes présentes, et le jeu de lumière sur scène crée une atmosphère sombre et rêveuse, ainsi que l’alternance de voix mélodiques et criées. L’échelle, bien que relativement courte, parvient à capter l’attention du public alors que le lieu se remplit encore.
CROSSES
À peine le temps de prendre un autre verre, de discuter, qu’il est temps d’enfin profiter du spectacle de Crosses. La tension de l’attente devient palpable, et à la première note de Invisible Hands, le public explose. Sur scène se trouvent les trois croix emblématiques éclairées par des néons, qui palpitent au moment de la musique et changent de couleur d’une musique à l’autre. Les sons s’enchainent rapidement, Jouant la majorité des chansons de leur nouvel album, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. Chino Moreno sonnait au sommet de son jeu alors qu’il chantait sur de nouvelles chansons comme Invisible Hand, Ghost Ride, Found, Grace, Last Rites, Vivien et Sensation.
Un spectacle aussi puissant et raffiné. Regarder Chino être dans son élément et laisser sortir son côté plus ludique est toujours un bon moment. Ensuite, vous avez Shaun Lopez, qui guide tout instrumentalement. La combinaison de ces deux est tout à fait la paire. Et vous ne pouvez pas oublier l’histoire de Deftones, si vous le savez, alors vous vous y retrouvez!
Les chansons, la performance, l’énergie dans la pièce et impressionnante. Bien que Crosses montrent son côté le plus mélodique, il n’a pas hésité à afficher ses cris déchirants caractéristiques, augmentant l’excitation des personnes présentes et faisant exploser tout le public dans un autre grondement.
Pendant environ une heure et quart, Crosses jouent sans relâche, offrant un spectacle précis, impressionnant et capable de donner des émotions. le public aurait volontiers accueilli une autre heure si on en avait l’occasion.

As a good fan of Deftones I could not help but be interested in this side project, falling in love right away. Crosses, the electronic-rock collaboration between Deftones singer Chino Moreno and guitarist Shaun Lopez, released their long-awaited album, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete last October. This is their first album release in 9 years and follows the EP PERMANENT.RADIANT of 2022.
Finally, the day has arrived. It is mid-June and something special is about to happen. The evening begins at 8pm, a look at the merch, a drink at the bar, and then it’s off. The lights go out, the show begins.
VOWWS
Vowws, the opening act of the evening, takes to the stage. The band offers the public a taste of their original death pop. They offer a repertoire of songs with catchy sound, without giving up the dark atmosphere, wonderfully fusing different influences. Their warm and dark sounds envelop those present, and the play of light on stage creates a dark and dreamy atmosphere, as well as the alternation of melodic and shouted voices. The scale, although relatively short, manages to capture the attention of the public while the place is still filling up.
CROSSES
Barely time to have another drink, to discuss, it’s time to finally enjoy the show of Crosses. The tension of waiting becomes palpable, and on the first note of Invisible Hands, the audience explodes. On stage are the three emblematic crosses illuminated by neon lights, which pulsate at the time of the music and change color from one music to another. Playing most of the songs from their new album, Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. Chino Moreno sounded at the top of his game as he sang on new songs like Invisible Hand, Ghost Ride, Found, Grace, Last Rites, Vivien and Sensation.
Such a powerful and refined show. Watching Chino be in his element and let out his more playful side is always a good time. Then you have Shaun Lopez, who guides everything instrumentally. The combination of these two is quite the pair. And you can not forget the story of Deftones, if you know it, then you find yourself there!
The songs, the performance, the energy in the room and impressive. Although Crosses shows his most melodic side, he did not hesitate to display his characteristic heartbreaking screams, increasing the excitement of those present and blowing the whole audience in another rumble.
For about an hour and a quarter, Crosses plays tirelessly, offering a precise show, impressive and able to give emotions. The public would gladly have welcomed another hour if we had the opportunity.
