[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] En ce mercredi 19 Mars 2025, Bloodywood passe en tournée accompagnés de deux groupes, j’ai nommés Demonic Resurrection et Calva Louise.
Pour commencer tout en douceur Demonic Resurrection savent y faire. En effet, ce groupe de Metal symphonique venu de Mumbai amène avec lui toute une atmosphère prenante et enivrante. Sur album, ça touche déjà profondément, mais en concert, c’est encore plus intense. Mon morceau vraiment coup de cœur a été:
Matsya – The Fish : Ce morceau est super riche en termes de parties instrumentales, il arrive à rester dans une composition logique tout en changeant subitement de note ou alors de tempo. Au début, quand on l’écoute pour la première fois surtout en live, je peux comprendre que ceci est assez troublant, mais quand le premier riff en speed arrive, on est directement dans le train en route pour le pit.
Entre une ambiance synthwave et punk, Calva Louise arrive à transformer le Bataclan en soirée endiablée. Pour avoir connu le trio via les réseaux sociaux où ils postent des vidéos de leurs musiques, les voir en vrai est totalement différent. J’avais très hâte d’assister à leur show et je ne suis clairement pas déçu, un jeu de lumière à en faire pâlir plus d’un, ce qui compense le fait que le trio est assez statique sur scène. La chanteuse Jess Allanic est au clavier en même temps qu’elle joue de la guitare, ce qui en live est impressionnant et le bassiste Alizon Taho gère aussi un soundboard avec des backing qui sont super bien exécuté. Ceci donne de la grosseur aux morceaux. Sans oublier derrière les fûts celui qui donne le tempo et le rythme aux morceaux de Ben Parker. Même s’ils ne sont que trois, les membres assurent une performance live très solide. Comme quoi ce n’est pas le nombre qui fait la puissance d’un groupe.
Aimless : Une intro en clean à la guitare avec un léger chorus qui est très envoûtant, on se laisse porter jusqu’à l’arrivée du scream. Qui déclenche une sorte d’euphorie collective pour ensuite retomber dans un air calme. Bien sûr, ceci ne va pas le rester une montée progressive pour nous garder en suspens jusqu’au drop qui arrive pour casser. La salle était en feu le pit était bien chaud pour la suite et moi le premier, j’en redemandais.
Bloodywood, une immense énergie se dégage du groupe, c’est impressionnant pour les avoir déjà vus, je suis encore émerveillé, j’ai eu beaucoup de chance là où j’étais placé, je me suis pris une claque auditive. Des drops juste dingues qui donnent envie de tout casser mélangés à des instruments traditionnels indiens. De très beaux messages passés tout le long du concert, des messages d’encouragement, ce que j’ai trouvé très honorable. Un rappel a même été fait et vraiment, je trouve, c’est quelque chose qui manque ici, ça fait toujours plaisir un petit morceau supplémentaire. Personne ne dira le contraire, je pense. Le morceau que j’ai le plus attendu était Tadka. Quand j’ai vu le groupe pour la première fois, le titre n’était pas dans la setlist, mais là, pour mon plus grand bonheur, il y était.
Tadka : Les premières notes m’ont tout de suite fait sauter de joie, j’ai trouvé que la guitare avait un son plus gros qu’avant, en tout cas ce n’est pas pour me déplaire. Quand les deux voix s’entremêlent, c’était juste fabuleux pendant le pont, puis le refrain arrive et là, c’était toute la salle qui tremblait.Le public chantait à s’en casser la voix, pour le plus grand plaisir des musiciens qui étaient super heureux de faire partager un moment comme celui-ci.
Un concert vraiment incroyable, je n’ai pas vu le temps passer, on le sentait vraiment, les musiciens étaient super heureux d’être présents ce soir entre les morceaux, ils n’arrêtaient pas de nous le faire savoir. J’ai eu aussi de bonnes surprises sur les titres choisis pour cette tournée concernant les trois groupes. Le seul petit point négatif, c’est que les groupes de première partie étaient trop courts.En espérant que la prochaine fois ça ne soit pas le cas. Une organisation comme cette dernière doit être assez contraignante pour faire durer les premières parties plus longtemps.Quoi qu’il en soit, si les deux premiers groupes vous étaient inconnus maintenant, ils ne le sont plus.
[ENGLISH VERSION] On this Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Bloodywood is touring with two bands: Demonic Resurrection and Calva Louise.
To get things off to a gentle start, Demonic Resurrection have got it right. Indeed, this symphonic metal band from Mumbai brings with it an intoxicating and captivating atmosphere. On album, it’s already deeply moving, but live, it’s even more intense. My favorite track was:
Matsya – The Fish: This track is super-rich in terms of instrumental parts, managing to stay within a logical composition while suddenly changing note or tempo. At first, when you hear it for the first time, especially live, I can understand that it’s quite confusing, but when the first speed riff arrives, you’re straight on the train to the pit.
Calva Louise are a band that’s a bit of a mix of synthwave and punk, and they totally transformed the Bataclan into a wild party. I’d known the trio via social media, where they post videos of their music, but seeing them in person is totally different. I was really looking forward to their show, and I’m clearly not disappointed, with a light show that would make anyone swoon, which makes up for the fact that the trio are quite static on stage. Singer Jess Allanic is a real multitasker, playing both keyboards and guitar, which is impressive when you see them live. Alizon Taho, the bassist, is also on board for the backing vocals, which are executed brilliantly. This gives the tracks a lot of substance. And let’s not forget the guy on the drums, setting the tempo and rhythm for Ben Parker‘s tracks. Even though there are only three of them, the band delivers a solid live performance. It just goes to show that a band’s strength doesn’t depend on how many members they have.
Aimless: The song starts with a clean guitar intro and a gentle chorus that’s just mesmerising, and you’re carried along until the scream arrives, which triggers a kind of collective euphoria before falling back into a calm air.But this isn’t going to stay the case: it gradually builds up to keep us in suspense until the drop arrives to break things up. The room was on fire, the pit was hot for what was to come, and I was the first to ask for more.
Bloodywood‘s performance was incredible. Their energy is off the charts, and I was stoked to see them again. I was pretty lucky with my seat, and the sound was crazy. They mixed crazy drops with traditional Indian instruments, and there were some really nice messages throughout the concert. It was cool to see some encouragement. They even did an encore, which is a nice touch. I don’t think anyone would disagree that it’s always nice to have a little extra something.I was really looking forward to Tadka, and I was so glad they played it.
Tadka: The first notes immediately made me jump for joy, and I thought the guitar sounded bigger than before, which I like. When the two voices intertwine, it’s just fabulous during the bridge, then the chorus comes in and the whole room is shaking.The audience was singing along at the top of their voices, which the musicians loved.
A really incredible concert, I didn’t see the time go by, you could really feel it, the musicians were super happy to be there tonight between the songs, they kept letting us know. I was also pleasantly surprised by the titles the three bands chose for this tour. The only negative point was that the opening bands were too short, but hopefully that won’t be the case next time. Anyway, if you didn’t know the first two bands, don’t worry.
