Tout droit venu d’Australie, ce one-woman band tire son nom du jeu vidéo préféré de l’artiste : Shadow Of The Colossus. Dans cet EP chaque chanson est un chapitre qui explore des thèmes complexes et des conflits internes, le tout est donc regroupé sous forme d’un Lore crypté.
Nous plongeons directement dans un univers parallèle avec Devour Me qui se positionne entre sentiments mélancoliques et tourments profonds qui se ressentent dans la composition entre tempo durs et ralentis, et cela semble être un fil rouge de composition avec Throne Of Want qui va faire venir le chant guttural beaucoup plus vite en accentuant la mélodie qui s’intensifie considérablement. Contrairement à Make Us Whole Again qui va mettre l’accent sur la mélancolie en cochant toutes les cases de la carte bingo de la ballade chargée en émotions. Après un moment de repli sur soi et de réflexion intense c’est l’heure de la bataille, et le tout est parfaitement illustré par Swallowed By The World, intense et profond et le résultat donne Hypoxia (le manque d’oxygène en français) qui est très bien représenté par une chanson où beaucoup de chose se passe ce qui en devient oppressant, étouffant, et Constellation arrive comme une fin plutôt triste et innévitable.
Cenobia nous présente un EP profond, intense et lourd de sens et de réflexion avec un Lore complexe et une imagerie déjà très assumée. Elle est sur le point de devenir une étoile montante du Metal moderne.

Straight from Australia, this one-woman band takes its name from the artist’s favorite video game: Shadow of the Colossus. On this EP, each song is a chapter that explores complex themes and internal conflicts, all woven together into a cryptic lore.
We’re plunged straight into a parallel universe with Devour Me, which straddles melancholic feelings and deep inner turmoil—reflected in the composition’s shift between hard-hitting and slowed-down tempos—and this seems to be a recurring compositional thread, continuing with Throne of Want, which introduces guttural vocals much sooner while accentuating a melody that intensifies considerably. In contrast, Make Us Whole Again emphasizes melancholy, checking all the boxes on the emotional ballad bingo card. After a moment of introspection and intense reflection, it’s time for battle—a theme perfectly illustrated by Swallowed By The World, an intense and profound track. The result is Hypoxia (meaning lack of oxygen), which is vividly portrayed by a song where so much is happening that it becomes oppressive and suffocating, and Constellation arrives as a rather sad and inevitable conclusion.
Cenobia presents us with a profound, intense EP, heavy with meaning and reflection, featuring a complex lore and imagery that’s already very well-defined. She’s on the verge of becoming a rising star of modern metal.
