[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Le 5 janvier dernier, le Zénith de Paris a accueilli une affiche exceptionnelle pour les amateurs de deathcore. Quatre groupes emblématiques du genre se sont succédé sur scène pour une soirée intense, mêlant brutalité sonore, performances vocales impressionnantes. Malgré un début de concert très tôt pour un jour de semaine, le public a répondu présent, prêt à en découdre dès les premières notes du premier concert de la soirée. Merci à Tank pour les photos!
La soirée a commencé avec Humanity’s Last Breath, mais nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu être présents en raison d’horaires incompatibles avec une journée de travail classique. Une partie du public à donc loupé le lancement des festivités, malgré cela nous avons entendu pleins de retours positifs sur ce groupe qui a su enflammer la salle dès le début.
L’arrivée dans la salle s’est faite en plein set de Shadow of Intent. Même sans avoir assisté au show dans son intégralité, l’énergie dégagée était indéniable. Le groupe a livré une prestation mouvementée, portée par un public déjà bien préparé et une salle parfaitement chauffée. Les riffs massifs et la violence maîtrisée du groupe ont contribué à installer une dynamique puissante pour la suite de la soirée.
Avec Whitechapel, le concert a clairement pris une autre dimension. Le groupe a proposé un show extrêmement contrôlé, où chaque élément semblait parfaitement à sa place.
Vocalement, la performance était impressionnante, alternant puissance brute et précision,
confirmant le statut du groupe comme pilier du deathcore moderne. Le jeu de lumières, rapide et intense, accompagnait parfaitement la musique, créant une atmosphère presque hypnotique. Cette combinaison de sons écrasants et de visuels agressifs pouvait littéralement faire perdre la tête, renforçant l’immersion du public. Whitechapel a su captiver la salle grâce à une exécution solide et une présence scénique
des plus remarquable.
Lorna Shore a clôturé la soirée avec un spectacle d’une ampleur impressionnante. Dès les
premiers instants, quand le rideau est tombé, il a laissé place à une scénographie travaillée
et des visuels soignés. Les fumées, parfaitement calculées, ajoutaient de la profondeur à la
scène, tandis que flammes, feux d’artifice et pétards venaient ponctuer les moments forts du set, le tout accompagné par les cris de la foule en feu.
Le show était aussi maîtrisé visuellement que musicalement. Chaque effet semblait pensé
pour servir l’impact sonore du groupe. La foule, totalement happée par l’énergie des
musiciens sur scène, s’est montrée particulièrement active. En effet il y a eu de nombreuses salves de crowd surfers qui ont donné du fil à retordre à la sécurité, sans oublier les multiples wall of death et pogos parfaitement exécutés.
Pour conclure leur prestation, Lorna Shore a frappé fort en enchaînant la trilogie Pain
Remains, suivie de leur titre emblématique To The Hellfire. Une fin de set intense et
émotionnelle, laissant le public à bout de souffle mais conquis.
Cette soirée au Zénith de Paris restera comme une véritable célébration du deathcore. Entre performances vocales impressionnantes, riffs lourds et mélodies entraînantes, chaque
groupe a apporté sa pierre à l’édifice. Malgré un début de concert trop précoce, l’événement a tenu toutes ses promesses, offrant au public une expérience sonore et visuelle puissante, rythmée et mémorable.
[ENGLISH VERSION] On January 5th, the Zénith of Paris hosted an exceptional lineup for deathcore fans. Four iconic bands of the genre took turns on stage for an intense evening, blending sonic brutality with impressive vocal performances. Despite the concert starting very early for a weekday, the crowd showed up in force, ready to throw down from the very first notes of the night’s opening act.
The evening kicked off with Humanity’s Last Breath, but unfortunately we were unable to attend their set due to schedules incompatible with a standard workday. As a result, part of the audience missed the beginning of the festivities. Nevertheless, we heard plenty of
positive feedback about the band, who reportedly managed to set the venue on fire right
from the start.
We entered the venue during Shadow of Intent’s set. Even without having witnessed the
show in its entirety, the energy in the room was undeniable. The band delivered a highly
dynamic performance, supported by a well-prepared crowd and a venue already perfectly
warmed up. Their massive riffs and controlled aggression helped establish a powerful
momentum for the rest of the evening.
With Whitechapel, the concert clearly shifted into another dimension. The band delivered an extremely controlled performance, where every element seemed perfectly in place. Vocally, the performance was outstanding, alternating between raw power and precision, further cementing the band’s status as a pillar of modern deathcore. The fast and intense lighting design complemented the music flawlessly, creating an almost hypnotic atmosphere. This combination of crushing sound and aggressive visuals could literally make your head spin, deepening the audience’s immersion. Whitechapel managed
to captivate the entire venue through solid execution and a truly remarkable stage presence.
Lorna Shore closed the night with a show of impressive scale. From the very first moments, when the curtain dropped, it revealed a carefully crafted stage design and striking visuals. Perfectly timed smoke effects added depth to the stage, while flames, fireworks, and explosive effects punctuated the strongest moments of the set, all accompanied by the roar of a crowd on fire.
The show was as visually mastered as it was musically. Every effect felt deliberately
designed to enhance the band’s sonic impact. Fueled by the musicians’ energy on stage, the crowd was especially active. Numerous waves of crowd surfers kept the security team busy, not to mention the many perfectly executed wall of deaths and mosh pits.
To close their performance, Lorna Shore hit hard by performing the Pain Remains trilogy,
followed by their iconic track To The Hellfire. An intense and emotional finale that left the
audience breathless but fully satisfied.
This night at the Zénith of Paris will remain a true celebration of deathcore. Between
impressive vocal performances, heavy riffs, and infectious melodies, each band contributed
to the overall experience. Despite the early start, the event lived up to all expectations,
offering the audience a powerful, dynamic, and unforgettable audiovisual experience.
