Nous nous préparons à vivre ce soir une soirée d’enfer avec une line up qui s’annonce tout simplement incroyable et qui promet d’envoyer ! Pour cette magnifique soirée à Strasbourg, à travers leurs 2 dates exceptionnelles en France ce mois-ci, While She Sleeps nous propose un concert de haut niveau avec Make Them Suffer, Holding Absence, ERRA et Bury Tomorrow à leur côtés. De quoi ravir un bon nombre de personnes!
C’est donc une soirée qui commence très tôt, 17h30, mais pas pour nous déplaire, car Make Them Suffer ouvre le bal.
Make Them Suffer
En quelques secondes, le groupe chauffe la salle avec leurs premiers sons comme Ghost of Me et Bones, et le public est directement très réceptif ! De nombreux fans hurlent et les premiers pogo apparaissent déjà. C’est à l’arrivée du son Epitaph que les premiers crowdsurfer apparaissent. Le groupe nous offre une très belle prestation pleine d’énergie, avec leur chant mêlant scream de Sean Harmanis et la douce voie mélodieuse de Alex Reade qui forme un magnifique combo.
C’est après une très faible attente qu’on retrouve une autre bande très appréciée, Holding Absence. Nous avons la chance de les voir ce soir car ils n’étaient pas présents sur la date à Lyon la veille!
Holding Absence
Bien qu’étant moins violent que le groupe précédent, Holding Absence retrouve tout de même son public à travers cette salle pleine. La fosse chante en cœur sur des sons comme A Crooked Melody ou Afterlife faisant plaisir à voir. Le groupe n’a plus sa réputation à faire, ils savent ce qu’ils font! Le chanteur déborde d’énergie, courant dans tous les sens et chantant de toutes ses forces. C’est avec grand plaisir que nous attendons une date en headline en France pour ce groupe très talentueux.
la soirée avance petit à petit et c’est maintenant au tour d’ERRA d’arriver sur scène. C’est une découverte pour moi, je n’avais jamais entendu parler de ce groupe.
ERRA
Eh bah quelle découverte! Ça envoie! Des riffs de guitare puissant au chant de JT Cavey, le groupe a retourné le public qui enchaînait les pogo et les wrowdsurfer tout le long du set. Ouvrant leur set sur Cure, un son de leur nouvel album, ces derniers nous montrent de quoi ils sont capable et ce qu’ils ont à offrir, nous invitant à chercher à en découvrir plus après leur set. Des sons comme Slow Sour Bleed ou Blue Reverie ont fait bouger le public avec leurs basses violentes et le chant de JT et de son acolyte guitariste. Après un son accompagné de centaines de lumières dans la foule, rendant toujours ces concerts plus intimistes, le groupe s’apprête à quitter la scène en terminant par Snowblood, une dernière claque avant de partir.
Plus la soirée avance, plus nous sommes impatient de voir While She Sleeps monter sur scène. Cependant, c’est maintenant au tour sur dernier ouvreur de la soirée, et pas des moindre, Bury Tomorrow.
Bury Tomorrow
Avec un set plus long que les groupes précédents (1h environ), Bury Tomorrow lancent leur set avec The Seventh Sun et Abandon Us mettant tout le monde d’accord. Au cours de leur set, le chanteur prend le temps de discuter plusieurs fois avec le public et de prôner des messages défenseurs de tolérance et de bienveillance envers autrui, un discours applaudit à l’unanimité par la foule. C’est avec Earthbound que nous avons droit au premier circle pit de la soirée. Clôturant leur show avec DEATH, Bury Tomorrow ont laissé leur marque chez bon nombre de gens du public avec une magnifique performance, dingue de grands groupes montrant à tout le monde leur fort potentiel pour la suite.
C’est sur de lourds applaudissements que la band s’en va, et qu’il est temps de se préparer pour la suite, While She Sleeps.
While She Sleeps
Les lumières s’éteignent, et le groupe arrive sur Rainbows sous les cris de tout le public. Et wow, leur show est incroyable! On sent que leur performance a monté de niveau depuis la dernière fois que je les ai vus, il y a 1an seulement. Loz Taylor, le chanteur déborde d’énergie, il saute partout et est très proche du public, allant jusqu’à monter sur les enceintes ou chanter debout sur le public. Jouant des sons très populaires comme Sleeps Society, Anti-Social ou encore Four Walls, le groupe fait bouger la foule comme jamais, les crowdsurfer s’enchaînent sans fin! Le jeu de guitare de Sean Long est toujours aussi impressionnant avec sa maîtrise parfaite des doubles pédales et de son jeu, faisant crier la foule. Malgré un set sûrement trop court au goûts de tous, leur show reste tut de même incroyable et remplie d’énergie et de bonne humeur, donnant toujours envie d’en voir plus!
Une soirée incroyable, avec des groupes tout aussi géniaux, une prog ou on ne pouvait pas espérer mieux, voilà ce que nous a proposé cette douce soirée à Strasbourg, qui restera gravée dans nos mémoires.

We are preparing to live tonight an evening of hell with a line up that promises to be simply incredible and that promises to send! For this wonderful evening in Strasbourg, through their 2 exceptional dates in France this month, While She Sleeps offers us a high level concert with Make Them Suffer, Holding Absence, ERRA and Bury Tomorrow at their side. What delight a good number of people!

Make Them Suffer
In a few seconds, the band heats the room with their first sounds like Ghost of Me and Bones, and the public is directly very receptive! Many fans are screaming and the first pogo is already appearing. It is at the arrival of the sound Epitaph that the first crowdsurfer appear. The band offers us a beautiful performance full of energy, with their singing mixing scream of Sean Harmanis and the sweet melodious way of Alex Reade which forms a magnificent combo.
It is after a very low expectation that we find another band very appreciated, Holding Absence. We are lucky to see them tonight because they were not present on the date in Lyon the day before!
Holding Absence
Although less violent than the previous group, Holding Absence still finds its audience through this full room. The pit sings in heart on sounds like A Crooked Melody or Afterlife making pleasure to see. The group no longer has its reputation to do, they know what they are doing! The singer is full of energy, running in all directions and singing with all his strength. It is with great pleasure that we are waiting for a headline date in France for this very talented group.
The evening progresses little by little and it is now the turn of ERRA to arrive on stage. This is a discovery for me, I had never heard of this group.
ERRA
What a discovery! It sends! From powerful guitar riffs to JT Cavey singing, the band turned the audience upside down as pogo and wrowdsurfer played throughout the set. Opening their set on Cure, a sound from their new album, they show us what they are capable of and what they have to offer, inviting us to seek to discover more after their set. Sounds like Slow Sour Bleed or Blue Reverie made the audience move with their violent bass and the singing of JT and his fellow guitarist. After a sound accompanied by hundreds of lights in the crowd, always making these concerts more intimate, the group prepares to leave the stage by ending with Snowblood, one last slap before leaving.
As the evening progresses, we are more impatient to see While She Sleeps on stage. However, it is now the turn on last opener of the evening, and not the least, Bury Tomorrow.
Bury Tomorrow
With a set longer than the previous bands (about 1h), Bury Tomorrow launch their set with The Seventh Sun and Abandon Us putting everyone in agreement. During their set, the singer takes the time to discuss several times with the public and advocate messages of tolerance and kindness to others, a speech applauded unanimously by the crowd. It is with Earthbound that we are entitled to the first circle pit of the evening. Closing their show with DEATH, Bury Tomorrow left their mark on many people in the audience with a magnificent performance, crazy big bands showing everyone their strong potential for the future.
It is with heavy applause that the band leaves, and it is time to prepare for the sequel, While She Sleeps.
While She Sleeps
The lights go out, and the band arrives on Rainbows under the screams of the whole audience. And wow, their show is amazing! We feel that their performance has risen since the last time I saw them, only 1 year ago. Loz Taylor, the singer is full of energy, he jumps everywhere and is very close to the audience, going so far as to climb on the speakers or sing standing on the audience. Playing very popular sounds like Sleeps Society, Anti-Social or Four Walls, the group makes the crowd move like never before, crowdsurfers are endless! Sean Long’s guitar playing is still impressive with his perfect mastery of double pedals and his playing, making the crowd scream. Despite a set probably too short to everyone’s taste, their show remains tut of the same incredible and filled with energy and good humor, always making you want to see more!
An incredible evening, with equally great bands, a prog where we could not hope for better, this is what we proposed this sweet evening in Strasbourg, which will remain engraved in our memories.
