Un jeune groupe fait son entrée dans le milieu du Metal et c’est The Dark qui nous propose un EP éponyme qui sort le 21 février 2025 par le label Arising Empire.
Le groupe a déjà un univers bien construit qui prends place dans un monde qui part en miettes où 2 personnes font le choix solennel de se concentrer sur eux-mêmes, autorisant ainsi leur monde tombé en cendres. Une vision apocalyptique de la fin du monde à travers les yeux de 2 amoureux.
En septembre 2024 c’est Chemicals qui introduit l’univers avec un morceau aux codes Metalcore classique et pourtant une identité musicale se construit déjà, et qui se poursuit avec Slip Away ou encore Circles qui présentent en plus un Break Down porté par un chant guttural puissant pour l’un et une partie avec du vocoder pour l’autre. Une autre vision de leur empreinte Head Of The Snake avec un tempo plus posé sans enlever la puissance du chant. En prime In Heaven There’s Nothing To See qui est le parfait mélange de tout ce que l’on a entendu auparavant.
The Dark propose une introduction dans leur univers déjà bien lourd et puissant émotionnellement. C’est bien exécuté et efficace. Ce jeune groupe pourrait être l’une des étoiles montantes du Metalcore.

A young band is making its debut on the metal scene, The Dark, with an eponymous EP to be released on February 21, 2025 by the Arising Empire label.
The band already has a well-constructed universe that takes place in a crumbling world where 2 people make the solemn choice to focus on themselves, thus allowing their world to fall into ashes. An apocalyptic vision of the end of the world through the eyes of 2 lovers.
In September 2024, it’s Chemicals who introduce the universe with a classic metalcore track, and yet a musical identity is already being built up, which continues with Slip Away and Circles, which also feature a Break Down carried by powerful guttural vocals for one and a vocoder part for the other. A different take on their Head Of The Snake imprint, with a more sedate tempo without detracting from the power of the vocals. The bonus track, In Heaven There’s Nothing To See, is a perfect blend of everything we’ve heard before.
The Dark offers an introduction to their already heavy and emotionally powerful universe. It’s well-executed and effective. This young band could be one of metalcore’s rising stars.
