Tarja nous présente son nouvel album solo intitulé Frisson Noir, disponible le 12 juin 2026 par le label Ear Music.
Pour débuter cet album, Intro, une courte interlude instrumentale qui enchaine directement avec le titre éponyme Frisson Noir, avec un Metal puissant et obscur ce premier titre se rempli d’émotion et promet une suite toute aussi mouvementée. The Eternal Return montre l’étendu du talent de Tarja (même si elle n’a plus rien a prouver); entre force et envolée dans les aigus le tout emmené par une mélodie à la fois douce et prenante.
Il est venu le temps d’introduire le premier guest avec Leap Of Faith en feat avec Marko Hietala (ex bassiste de Nightwish) offre une performance assez attendue mais si cela fait plaisir de les réentendre ensemble. Le moment où il faut s’accrocher arrive avec At Sea, titre de 10 minutes avec une magnifique intro piano /violon à couper le souffle, le reste relate du chef d’œuvre. Le deuxième guest n’est autre que le groupe Apocalyptica pour Tango, un duo attendu qui se marient à merveille. Pour le troisième guest c’est Dani Filth (Cradle Of Filth), et le moins que l’on puisse dire c’est que le contraste vocal permet de donner plus de profondeur au morceau I Don’t Care. Et enfin le dernier guest n’est autre que Chad Smith (batteur des Red Hot Chili Peppers) pour Against The Odds qui offre une performance incroyable tout en gardant l’esprit de simplicité.
Enfin pour Blaze Forever, The Trace Outlives, et Anemoia c’est le subtil mélange de douceur et puissance combinés aux envolées lyriques de la chanteuse et nous ne pouvons que vous conseiller d’aller jeter une oreille pour vous faire votre propre avis. Pour conclure c’est Outro qui propose une pause avec 1 minute de Bol chantant tibétain créant une boucle sans fin avec l’ouverture de cet opus.
Tarja propose un album efficace qui ne change pas vraiment de son registre, c’est puissant, doux et très accessible permettant de faire découvrir le Metal symphonique à tout le monde.

The Eternal Return showcases the full extent of Tarja’s talent (even though she has nothing left to prove); it balances strength with soaring high notes, all carried by a melody that is both gentle and captivating.
The time has come to introduce the first guest: Leap Of Faith, featuring Marko Hietala (former bassist of Nightwish), delivers a performance that was highly anticipated—and it’s a pleasure to hear them together again. The moment to really hang on arrives with At Sea, a 10-minute track with a breathtaking piano/violin intro; the rest is pure masterpiece. The second guest is none other than the band Apocalyptica for Tango, a highly anticipated duet that blends perfectly. The third guest is Dani Filth (Cradle Of Filth), and to say the least, the vocal contrast adds depth to the track I Don’t Care. And finally, the last guest is none other than Chad Smith (drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers) for Against The Odds, who delivers an incredible performance while maintaining a spirit of simplicity.
Finally, for Blaze Forever, The Trace Outlives, and Anemoia, it’s the subtle blend of softness and power combined with the singer’s lyrical soaring vocals, and we can only recommend that you give them a listen to form your own opinion. To conclude, Outro offers a moment of respite with one minute of Tibetan singing bowls, creating an endless loop that ties back to the opening of this album.
Tarja delivers a compelling album that doesn’t stray far from her signature style—it’s powerful, gentle, and highly accessible, making symphonic metal a great introduction for everyone.
