Ingested : Where Only Gods May Tread

Ce vendredi (donc aujourd’hui) sortira le cinquième album studio du groupe de Death Metal anglais,Ingested, « Where Only Gods My Tread » via le label Unique Leader Records. [ENGLISH BELOW]

Subscribe to my philosophy

[ENGLISH VERSION]

This Friday (so today) will release the fifth studio album of the English Death Metal band, Ingested, « Where Only Gods My Tread » via Unique Leader Records.

« Follow The Deceiver » opens the album and it’s already Violence with a capital V! Jason Evans (vocals) screams at the top of his lungs while Lyn Jeffs (drums) is already hammering his drums like a devil and this is only the first track.

The band released the track « No Half Measures » a few weeks ago and the second track is a real brutality, as much on the instrumental level as on the lyrics which partly refer to the social networks « Join us, follow me ».
Subscribe to my philosophy » as shown in the already released Lyric Video.

« Impending Dominance » is the first single from this album to be released, the band wanted this album to be very brutal but in the production the sound remains clear and deep despite this violence that any man would find « dirty » or even « disgusting ». The 2:30 break interspersed with Jason’s scream is almost too good to be real.

The next track « The List » could just as well have been released in the band’s discography, Carnifex. The sound of this track is dark and would almost be disturbing.

The guest ballet begins with Vince Benett from The Acacia Strain on the track « The Burden Of Our Failures« , this song sees the appearance of more melodic parts like the present solo after the 3 minutes.

« Another Breath » featuring Crowbar’s Kirk Windstein is probably my favorite track on this album with its dark intro before the arrival of Kirk’s deep voice joined very quickly by Jason’s demonic throaty vocals. The vocal wedding is there beautiful but full of desolation which makes it a big emotional slap in the face.

The last guest present is Matt Honeycutt from hardcore band Kublai Khan! Of course this collaboration smells like hardcore and makes you want to throw yourself into a Mosh-Pit before going back to Ingested’s Slam/Death for the song « Forsaken Of Desolation« . « Leap Of The Faithless » is the last track of the album but also the longest with no less than 9 minutes on the counter. Last avalanche of demonic violence, of instrumental session that makes you want to break your neck, of a demonic vocal that makes you want to hand out potatoes (or do the same as Jason Evans as you wish). Ingested still proves that after the 2 minutes of the song, they know how to calm down a bit. Sean and Sam on guitar show once again the full extent of their talent on this track which will finish to finish off an audience washed out by the violence of this record.

« Where Only Gods May Tread » is a violent steamroller that will leave no ear unscathed. Ingested proves once again that they reign supreme over the Slam/Brutal Death scene. Definitely one of my favourite albums this year!
