Eivor – Tungl [FR/EN]

[ENGLISH BELOW]

[ENGLISH VERSION]

Eivor presents her new album, Tungl, available October 16, 2026, on the Nuclear Blast label.

The album opens with Og Manin Graet / And The Moon Cried, featuring a slow, heavy atmosphere, strongly marked by the minimalism of the instrumental but lulled by the artist’s hypnotic voice. Next, Drekafljoo / Dragon Maiden picks up the pace and amps up the intensity, a trend that continues with Verjugaroar / Walls, which lets us imagine walls rising as the song progresses—in contrast to Spokilsir / Revenants, which portrays the inner demons that return to haunt you. This spiritual journey also takes shape with Hinumegin / The Other Side, which represents a long, intense, and treacherous inner journey. As its name suggests, Healer presents itself as a healer of the soul with a melody that differs slightly from the rest. Speaking of distinctive melodies, Eon is marked by its predominant piano and vocals, always at a slow tempo. Finally, there’s a true instrumental track with Tann Tu Saknar / The One You Long For, which embraces its artistic choices with passion. The one and only collaboration, Fangao / Trapped, features Elinborg (a Faroese singer and Eivor’s younger sister)—an iconic duet for a song that leaves a lasting impression. And finally, to conclude this inner journey, Everyone But Me once again makes a strong impression with its minimalist melody.

Eivor presents a deeply spiritual, contemplative, and atmospheric album rooted entirely in her own feelings, making every listen a unique experience. Not for the faint of heart, as each listen can bring up or stir up a lot of emotions—especially with Eivor’s powerful voice, which contrasts sharply with the minimalism of the instrumentals.
