Les américains d’Edge Of Paradise vous présentent leur sixième album studio intitulé Prophecy disponible à partir du 7 Mars 2025 par le label Napalm Records. Il s’agit du premier album avec ce label.
Cet album débute avec Death Note qui propose une composition simple, heavy et catchy avec des envolées dans les aigus impressionnantes et qui viennent complètement contre carré le côté rauque et cassé de la voix de Margarita Monet. Puis Give It To Me (Mind Assassin), nous propose un rythme vocal plus Pop/Rock avec en prime un feat avec Ben V du One Man Band Ludovico Technique qui vient contrasté avec un chant dans les graves très nuancés.
Prophecy Unbound propose une chanson qui pourrait être dans un film post-apo, voir science-fiction pour agrémenter une scène aussi explosive que les riffs et la rythmique. Mais il y a aussi Rogue (Aim For The Kill) qui pourrait lui faire une sacré concurrence avec en prime un refrain ultra entêtant.
Sad Life Of A Rose est une ballade / Slow qui se prête assez bien au reste de l’univers aux inspirations très largement cinématographiques. Un rythme pesant avec une puissance émotionnelle assez chargée et prenante. Même idée pour Hear Me avec en plus un côté piano voix simple et pur.
The Other Side Of The Fear va se positionner un peu comme une préparation à la guerre, une fois que nous avons accepté que la peur doit changer de camp et qu’elle ne nous arrêtera plus. Avec ce changement radical de psychologie, Martyr (Monster) vient appuyer en illustrant la « Bête » qui viens d’être crée mais la marche est lancée avec Relieve Again et va perdre de sa lumière avec Falling Light qui rajoute la touche de mélancolie qui manquait.
Edge Of Paradise nous offre un album chargé, autant par la rythmique, les paroles mais aussi par les émotions ressenties. Quand à l’univers présenté il est assez vaste et va vite se différencier au fur et à mesure que l’imagination de l’auditeur va prendre le dessus. Un album très accessible à tous malgré la lourdeur de leur riffs.

American band Edge Of Paradise present their sixth studio album, Prophecy, available from March 7 2025 via Napalm Records. This is their first album with this label.
The album kicks off with Death Note, a simple, heavy and catchy composition with impressive high-pitched flights that completely counterbalance the husky, broken side of Margarita Monet’s voice. Then Give It To Me (Mind Assassin), with its more pop/rock vocal rhythm, features a feat with Ben V from the One Man Band Ludovico Technique, contrasting with the nuanced bass vocals.
Prophecy Unbound features a song that could be in a post-apo, even science-fiction film, to liven up a scene as explosive as the riffs and rhythm. But there’s also Rogue (Aim For The Kill), which could be quite a competitor, with its ultra-heady chorus.
Sad Life Of A Rose is a slow ballad that lends itself well to the rest of the universe’s largely cinematic inspirations. A heavy rhythm with an emotional power that’s both charged and gripping. The same idea applies to Hear Me, with the added bonus of a simple, pure piano voice.
The Other Side Of The Fear positions itself as a kind of preparation for war, once we’ve accepted that fear must change sides and stop us. With this radical change in psychology, Martyr (Monster) comes in to support, illustrating the “Beast” that has just been created, but the march is on with Relieve Again and will lose its light with Falling Light, which adds the touch of melancholy that was missing.
Edge Of Paradise is a highly charged album, both in terms of rhythm and lyrics, but also in terms of the emotions felt. As for the universe presented, it’s quite vast, and will quickly become different as the listener’s imagination takes over. A very accessible album, despite the heaviness of their riffs.
