[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Le cinquième album du groupe allemand de Nuclear Death Metal, Cytotoxin , intitulé Biographyte , sortira ce vendredi 11 avril après cinq ans d’attente!
Et l’album commence fort avec le single Hope Terminator et ses riffs dévastateurs avant que le vocaliste Grimo n’arrive pour imposer son chant guttural puissant! Le morceau possède également de solides mosh-part exécutées par les guitaristes, ce qui promet de grands moments en live. Un premier titre complexe et technique mais qui fut un choix judicieux pour la promotion de l’album car il représente bien tout ce que Cytotoxin sait faire. Un autre morceau déjà connu prend la suite, Condemnesia , un nouveau rouleau-compresseur avec des influences qui versent vers le Death Metal plus Old-School notamment dans le chant qui se fait très lourd et pesant. Le titre est pachydermique mais comprend quand même quelques touches mélodiques apportées par les parties de guitares avant qu’un court sample ne semble vouloir calmer les esprits (même si il paraît plus inquiétant qu’autre chose) avant que Cytotoxin ne reparte se déchaîner. Le final nous conduit tout droit à Behind Armored Doors qui possède une approche plus moderne que le précédent titre et qui rend le tout presque plus accessible avant que ne déboule le morceau éponyme Biographyte. Un titre plus violent mais qui n’en reste pas moins accrocheur avec sa rythmique infernale qui promet quelques bonnes parties de headbanging. Un court interlude instrumental Deadzone Desert nous plonge dans une profonde mélancolie où le bruit du vent nous accompagne tout comme celui plus inquiétant des chaînes. Le final contient une partie de tapping, ce qui est bien étrange vu l’atmosphère de la composition.
Mais le répit ne dure jamais bien longtemps chez Cytotoxin qui reprend avec The Everslave ! Un bulldozer lancé à toute allure sur lequel Grimo continuera à enrager en effectuant du pig-squeal judicieusement placé, un titre efficace et qui passe à vive allure. Là où Eventless Horizon possédait quelques touches de claviers plus majestueuses ou encore un beau solo, Bulloverdozed multiplie les mosh-part qui donnent envie de distribuer des pains dans un pit! Revelation est un ultime interlude sur lequel on assiste à un monologue en anglais d’une personne qui semble se diriger vers une zone irradiée et finit par y mourir avant que ne prenne place le dernier titre de l’album, From Bitter Rivers. Une dernière démonstration de sauvagerie de la part du groupe allemand !
Cytotoxin gagne à être plus connu et à ne pas en douter, il le sera avec ce nouvel album! Ce groupe est une véritable machine de guerre lancée à toute allure dont l’objectif est de tout raser sur son passage.

[ENGLISH VERSION] The fifth album from German nuclear death metal band Cytotoxin, entitled Biographyte, will be released on Friday 11 April after a five-year wait!
And the album gets off to a strong start with single Hope Terminator and its devastating riffs before vocalist Grimo arrives to impose his powerful guttural vocals! The track also features some solid mosh-parts from the guitarists, promising some great live moments. A complex and technical first track, but a judicious choice for the album’s promotion as it represents everything that Cytotoxin can do. Condemnesia, another familiar track, follows, a new steamroller with influences that veer towards more Old-School Death Metal, particularly in the vocals, which are very heavy and heavy. The track is pachydermic but still includes a few melodic touches provided by the guitar parts before a short sample seems to want to calm things down (even if it sounds more worrying than anything else) before Cytotoxin goes on the rampage again. The finale leads straight into Behind Armored Doors, which takes a more modern approach than the previous track and makes the whole thing almost more accessible, before the eponymous Biographyte kicks in. A more violent track, it’s no less catchy, with a hellish rhythm that promises some good headbanging. A short instrumental interlude, Deadzone Desert, plunges us into a deep melancholy where the sound of the wind accompanies us as does the more disturbing sound of chains. The finale includes a tapping section, which is rather strange given the atmosphere of the composition.
But the respite never lasts long with Cytotoxin, who take up with The Everslave! A bulldozer launched at full speed on which Grimo continues to rage with judiciously placed pig-squeal, an effective track that goes by at speed. Where Eventless Horizon had a few more majestic keyboards or a fine solo, Bulloverdozed is full of mosh-parts that make you want to hand out bread in a pit! Revelation is a final interlude, featuring a monologue in English by someone who seems to be heading for an irradiated zone and ends up dying there, before the album’s final track, From Bitter Rivers, takes place. A final display of savagery from the German band!
Cytotoxin deserve to be better known, and there’s no doubt they’ll do just that with this new album! This band is a fast-paced war machine whose aim is to raze everything in its path.
