[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] BAT est un groupe Américain formé du trio (Ryan Waste – basse/chant, Nick Poulos – guitare les deux de Municipal Waste) et Chris Charge – (batterie) Leur nouvel album Under the crooked claw sortira le 17 Mai chez Nuclear Blast.
L’album s’ouvre sur Una Torcia Illumina il Cielo qui est une intro sympathique menaçante digne d’un film d’horreur avant de rentrer dans le vif du sujet avec Vampyre Lore qui commence par un bombardement de bon riffs avec la voix stridente de Ryan Waste comme le morceaux suivant Rite for Exorcism qui commence par un bon riff entrainant, on
y retrouve ce coté Thrash old school tout comme dans Steetbanger le morceau suivant avec une batterie fracassante, et la voix tiraillée de Ryan qui apporte ce coté vraiment old school.
Just buried le morceau suivant change de tempo avec un morceau moins pesant et oppressant que les autres. Le morceau qui suit Warshock commence par une batterie bien old school et est un morceau explosif plein de bons riffs menés par Nick.
C’est sur un morceau entrainant que l’album se poursuit avec Horror vision tiré tout droit d’un film d’horreur avec des cris au début, on est toujours sur le même rythme .
L’album se poursuit sur Battered, qui commence par des riffs Speed/ Thrash bien puissants comme tout l’album. Puis vient Revenge of the wolf qui commence avec cette même fureur 80 et cette voix reconnaissable de Ryan, morceau puissant et entrainant avec une avalanche de bons riffs bien exécutés, avec un coté groovy.
Marauders of Doom est mon morceau préféré avec un long solo très entrainant qui nous amène sur Electric Warning qui commence par un riff tiraillant avant de démarrer en plein dans un Thrash old school ,avec un bon rythme et enfin Bastardized Force avant de finir sur Final strike qui clot cet album de façon magistrale avec un bombardement de bons riffs comme tout l’album. .
BAT nous offre un très bon album de Speed pour leur second album c’est une réussite, tout l’album est un peu la même chose mais ce n’est pas déplaisant. Le groupe nous ramène dans les ‘80 avec cet album riche en riffs puissants et ce coté old school. C’est un album simple et efficace comme on aime. Il sera également parfait pour se foutre sur la gueule dans les pogos en live!

[ENGLISH VERSION] BAT is an American band made up of the trio (Ryan Waste – bass/vocals, Nick Poulos – guitar, both from Municipal Waste) and Chris Charge – drums). Their new album Under the crooked claw will be released on May 17 by Nuclear Blast.
The album opens with Una Torcia Illumina il Cielo which is a friendly, menacing intro worthy of a horror film before to get to the heart of the matter with Vampyre Lore which begins with a bombardment of good riffs with strident vocals by Ryan Waste like the following track Rite for Exorcism which begins with a good catchy riff, we finds this old school thrash side just like in Steetbanger the following track with a smashing drums,
and Ryan‘s strained voice which brings this truly old school side.
Just buried the next song changes tempo with a song less heavy and oppressive than the others. The track that follows Warshock begins with some very old school drums which is an explosive track full of good riffs led by Nick. It is with a catchy track that the album continues with Horror vision taken straight from a horror film with screams at the beginning, we are always on the same rhythm. The album continues with Battered, which begins with very powerful speed/thrash riffs like the whole album. Then comes Revenge of the Wolf which begins with this same 80s fury and this recognizable voice of Ryan, a powerful and catchy piece with an avalanche of good, well-executed riffs, with a groovy side.
Marauders of Doom is my favorite track with a long, very catchy solo that brings us to Electric Warning starts with a tugging riff before launching right into an old school thrash, with a good rhythm and finally Bastardized Force before ending with Final Strike which ends this album in a masterful way with a bombardment good riffs like the whole album. .
BAT offers us a very good speed album for their second album, it’s a success, the whole album is a bit the same thing but it’s not unpleasant. The band takes us back to the 80s with this album rich in powerful riffs and this old school side. It’s a simple and effective album that we like. It’ll also be perfect for kicking ass in a mosh-pit!
