Le groupe américain de Metalcore Atreyu est de retour avec un nouvel album intitulé The End Is Not The End, disponible le 24 avril 2026 par le label Spinefarm Records.
Dès le début, le ton est donné, cela va être lourd comme nous le prouve cette introduction The End Is Not The End, courte mais intense. Cela continuera avec beaucoup d’ardeur puisque Dead, avec son rythme entêtant va contraster avec les couplets hurlants, presque hystériques. Amplifions maintenant l’atmosphère avec une batterie bien frénétique pour Break Me, permettant de créer une ambiance bien lourde qui va retomber comme un soufflé lors des refrains. C’est dommage cette chanson avait beaucoup de potentiel. Le côté un peu lent continue sa présence pour All For You, qui a plus des aspects de Metal Moderne, légèrement Pop sur les bords.
Le niveau va surement remonter un peu avec Ghost In Me, qui montre que rien n’est encore perdu. Une chanson assez courte mais très efficace. L’introduction du prochain morceau est probablement le meilleur jeu rythmique de l’album. En effet Glass Eater présente une rythmique presque militaire qui rajoute de l’intensité. Un petit moment d’émotion avec Wait My Love, I’ll Be Home, rempli de puissance mesurée, un interlude très agréable au milieu du capharnaüm. Nous pensions l’anarchie finie mais absolument pas puisqu’Ego Death vient en remettre une couche, et l’effet sera encore plus présent avec Death Rattle. L’heure est venue pour le feat avec la légende Max Cavalera (Soulfly) avec Children Of Light, qui est probablement le meilleur titre de l’album. C’est brutal, énergique et surtout harmonieux.
Atreyu nous propose un album qui part dans tout les sens, sans trop de construction, mais surtout très répétitif. L’écoute en devient une épreuve digne des poteaux de Koh-Lanta.

The American metalcore band Atreyu is back with a new album titled The End Is Not The End, set for release on April 24, 2026, via Spinefarm Records.
Right from the start, the tone is set—it’s going to be heavy, as evidenced by the short but intense intro to The End Is Not The End. This intensity continues with great fervor, as Dead, with its heady rhythm, contrasts with the screaming, almost hysterical verses. Let’s amp up the atmosphere with some frenetic drumming on Break Me, creating a heavy vibe that deflates like a soufflé during the choruses. It’s a shame—this song had a lot of potential. The slightly slower pace continues with All For You, which has more of a modern metal feel, with a touch of pop.
The energy level will surely pick up a bit with Ghost In Me, which shows that all is not yet lost. It’s a fairly short but very effective song. The intro to the next track is probably the best rhythmic section on the album. Indeed, Glass Eater features an almost military-style rhythm that adds intensity. A brief moment of emotion comes with Wait My Love, I’ll Be Home, filled with measured power—a very pleasant interlude amidst the chaos. We thought the anarchy was over, but absolutely not, as Ego Death piles on another layer, and the effect is even more pronounced with Death Rattle. The time has come for the collaboration with the legendary Max Cavalera (Soulfly) on Children Of Light, which is probably the best track on the album. It’s brutal, energetic, and above all, harmonious.
Atreyu offers us an album that goes off in all directions, without much structure, but above all, very repetitive. Listening to it becomes an ordeal worthy of the challenges on Survivor.
