[English version below] Prévu pour le 31 juillet via Century Media Records, ATARAXIA marque le retour des Suédois d’ALLT avec leur deuxième album. En seulement neuf titres, le groupe livre une œuvre particulièrement dense, qui s’écoute d’une traite et donne rapidement envie d’y revenir. Une sensation qui en dit finalement long sur la qualité des compositions : lorsque les dernières notes s’éteignent, une nouvelle écoute s’impose presque naturellement.
Décidément, 2026 est une année particulièrement généreuse pour les amateurs de Metal moderne et progressif. Après les excellentes sorties d’ERRA et de Periphery, sans oublier la très belle surprise proposée par Loathe, ALLT confirme à son tour que la scène est en pleine effervescence.
L’ouverture avec New Day annonce immédiatement la couleur. Après une courte introduction instrumentale lourde et pesante, le chant fait son apparition avec un flow évoquant par moments le rap ou le nu metal. Une influence qui reste cantonnée au phrasé vocal, car musicalement, ALLT demeure profondément ancré dans un Metal progressif moderne et atmosphérique, dans la continuité logique de ce que le groupe développe depuis ses débuts. Robin impressionne d’entrée en alternant scream puissant, chant clair parfaitement maîtrisé et passages plus rythmés. L’instrumental accompagne parfaitement cette diversité avec un breakdown efficace, une batterie inspirée et des séquences très dynamiques. Une excellente entrée en matière.
Omertà accélère immédiatement le tempo. Le scream explose dès les premières secondes et les influences nu metal se font encore plus présentes, notamment grâce à quelques effets rappelant les platines ainsi qu’au flow du chant. Le morceau possède une vraie énergie urbaine tout en restant profondément progressif. Impossible de ne pas penser à certains groupes émergents comme HEADWRECK tant cette modernité transpire de chaque passage. Entre un refrain plus doux en chant clair et des relances particulièrement nerveuses, la structure se révèle extrêmement intéressante. Un titre clairement taillé pour la scène, où il devrait rapidement devenir un incontournable. Un excellent choix de single, sorti seulement quelques semaines avant l’album.
Avec Nevermind, ALLT revient vers une formule plus familière. Toujours rapide, le morceau possède cette énergie qui donnera sans aucun doute naissance à quelques circle pits et mosh pits en concert. Le refrain chanté est immédiatement mémorisable, porté par un scream omniprésent et des « woah-oh » particulièrement accrocheurs. Ce n’est peut-être pas notre morceau préféré du disque, mais il remplit parfaitement son rôle et semble passer à une vitesse folle.
Enemy installe ensuite une ambiance nettement plus sombre. Son breakdown particulièrement violent et très grave apporte un véritable impact, tandis que le reste du morceau reste fidèle à l’identité du groupe : une écriture progressive, une atmosphère travaillée et une puissance constante.
Très attendu, Ataraxia, morceau éponyme, constitue une véritable respiration au cœur de l’album. Plus calme, largement dominé par le chant clair, il dévoile une facette particulièrement mélodique du groupe. Sans jamais ressembler à Bad Omens, il possède cette même capacité à proposer un refrain extrêmement catchy. Les textures électroniques viennent enrichir l’ensemble sans jamais dénaturer l’identité d’ALLT. C’est l’un de nos premiers coups de cœur : un morceau à la fois doux et lourd, qui renforce cette cohérence d’ambiance présente sur l’ensemble du disque. L’album s’écoute avec une facilité déconcertante… au point de donner immédiatement envie d’appuyer sur « lecture » une fois terminé.
Ultraviolence prend ensuite le relais de façon assez surprenante. Malgré son titre, le morceau débute calmement, porté par des synthétiseurs qui installent une nouvelle couleur sonore. Puis le refrain surgit brutalement avec un scream particulièrement intense, créant un contraste très réussi avec le chant clair qui le précédait. Le second couplet reste plus agressif sans atteindre la violence du refrain, illustrant parfaitement la maîtrise des dynamiques dont fait preuve le groupe. Encore un véritable coup de cœur.
Les premières notes de Snowblind sont immédiatement reconnaissables. Déjà présent dans notre playlist depuis sa sortie en mai 2026, ce single représentait un excellent choix pour annoncer l’album tant il résume parfaitement l’identité d’ALLT : un Metal moderne, progressif, mélodique et extrêmement entraînant. Le timbre de Robin fait une nouvelle fois merveille, alternant douceur et chant saturé avec une maîtrise impressionnante. Une chose est sûre : on a déjà hâte de retrouver ce morceau en concert, notamment lors de la date parisienne du 10 novembre.
High Hopes prolonge parfaitement cette dynamique en conservant une ambiance aérienne et mélodique. Placé juste après Snowblind, il s’intègre naturellement dans le déroulement de l’album. Son chant clair particulièrement accrocheur fonctionne à merveille avant de laisser place à un breakdown très efficace mettant les instruments en avant, accompagné d’un scream puissant et d’une utilisation très réussie de la réverbération. Encore un titre qui nous plaît dès la première écoute.
L’album se conclut avec Avalon, lui aussi dévoilé en amont en tant que single. Plus qu’un simple coup de cœur, il s’agit probablement de la pièce maîtresse du disque. Long, évolutif, il monte progressivement en intensité jusqu’à offrir une conclusion aussi émotionnelle que magistrale. C’est exactement le genre de morceau final qui reste longtemps en tête après la dernière note. Son piano conclusif vient refermer l’album avec beaucoup d’élégance. Les amateurs de grandes conclusions atmosphériques devraient immédiatement l’ajouter à leur playlist.
Avec ATARAXIA, ALLT poursuit logiquement son évolution en enrichissant encore davantage son identité. Les influences nu metal, les touches électroniques et les textures modernes viennent compléter un Metal progressif déjà particulièrement maîtrisé. L’ensemble déborde d’émotions, alterne constamment puissance et mélodie et met autant en valeur la qualité des compositions que les performances vocales de Robin. Difficile de croire que le groupe, formé en 2020, ne fête que sa sixième année d’existence tant tout paraît déjà parfaitement en place.
Au final, ATARAXIA s’impose comme l’une de nos sorties favorites de cette année 2026. Porté par une identité déjà parfaitement affirmée, il enchaîne les morceaux sans le moindre temps faible et se distingue par une écriture aussi moderne qu’efficace. Si sa durée peut sembler relativement concise, elle participe aussi à cette envie irrésistible de relancer l’album dès sa conclusion. Une preuve supplémentaire qu’ALLT signe ici un disque particulièrement réussi.

[ENGLISH VERSION] Set for release on July 31 via Century Media Records, ATARAXIA marks the return of the Swedish band ALLT with their second album. Across just nine tracks, the band delivers a remarkably dense body of work—one that flows seamlessly from start to finish and leaves the listener eager to return for more. This feeling speaks volumes about the quality of the songwriting: as the final notes fade, hitting play again feels like the natural next step.
2026 is shaping up to be a banner year for fans of modern and progressive metal. Following excellent releases from ERRA and Periphery—not to mention the delightful surprise from Loathe—ALLT further confirms that the scene is buzzing with creative energy.
The opener, « New Day, » immediately sets the tone. After a brief, heavy instrumental intro, the vocals kick in with a flow that occasionally evokes rap or nu-metal. This influence is confined to the vocal delivery, however; musically, ALLT remains deeply rooted in atmospheric modern progressive metal, continuing the evolution they’ve pursued since their inception. Robin makes an immediate impression, alternating between powerful screams, perfectly controlled clean vocals, and more rhythmic passages. The instrumentation complements this diversity beautifully, featuring an effective breakdown, inspired drumming, and highly dynamic sequences. It is an excellent way to kick things off.
« Omertà » immediately picks up the pace. Screams explode right from the opening seconds, and nu-metal influences become even more pronounced, thanks to turntable-style effects and the vocal flow. The track possesses a genuine urban energy while remaining deeply progressive. It is impossible not to think of up-and-coming bands like HEADWRECK, given how strongly that modern vibe permeates every section. With its blend of softer clean-vocal choruses and high-intensity, frenetic bursts, the song’s structure is fascinating. It is clearly a track built for the stage, where it is sure to become a live staple. It was an excellent choice for a single, released just weeks ahead of the album.
With « Nevermind, » ALLT returns to a more familiar formula. Fast-paced throughout, the track possesses the kind of energy that will undoubtedly spark circle pits and mosh pits at live shows. The sung chorus is instantly memorable, driven by omnipresent screaming vocals and particularly catchy « woah-ohs. » It may not be our favorite track on the record, but it serves its purpose perfectly and seems to fly by at breakneck speed.
« Enemy » then establishes a decidedly darker mood. Its particularly heavy, brutal breakdown packs a real punch, while the rest of the track stays true to the band’s identity: progressive songwriting, a carefully crafted atmosphere, and consistent power.
The highly anticipated title track, « Ataraxia, » offers a real moment of respite within the album. Calmer and dominated by clean vocals, it reveals a particularly melodic side of the band. Without ever sounding like Bad Omens, it shares that same knack for delivering an incredibly catchy chorus. Electronic textures enrich the soundscape without ever compromising ALLT‘s identity. It’s one of our early favorites—a track that is both soft and heavy, reinforcing the cohesive atmosphere found throughout the record. The album is incredibly easy to listen to… so much so that you immediately want to hit play again once it ends.
« Ultraviolence » then takes over in a rather surprising way. Despite its title, the track begins calmly, driven by synthesizers that introduce a new sonic texture. Then, the chorus erupts suddenly with an intense scream, creating a brilliant contrast with the preceding clean vocals. The second verse remains more aggressive—though not quite as brutal as the chorus—perfectly showcasing the band’s mastery of dynamics. Another standout track.
The opening notes of « Snowblind » are instantly recognizable. Already a fixture on our playlist since its release in May 2026, this single was an excellent choice to announce the album, perfectly encapsulating ALLT’s identity: modern, progressive, melodic, and incredibly catchy metal. Robin’s vocal tone works wonders once again, seamlessly alternating between soft passages and harsh vocals with impressive mastery. One thing is certain: we are already looking forward to hearing this track live, especially at the Paris show on November 10th.
« High Hopes » perfectly sustains this momentum, maintaining an atmospheric and melodic vibe. Placed right after « Snowblind, » it fits naturally into the album’s flow. Its particularly catchy clean vocals work beautifully before giving way to a highly effective breakdown that puts the instruments front and center, accompanied by a powerful scream and excellent use of reverb. Yet another track that appeals to us from the very first listen.
The album concludes with « Avalon, » which was also released beforehand as a single. More than just a personal favorite, it is arguably the record’s centerpiece. Long and dynamic, it gradually builds in intensity, delivering a finale that is as emotional as it is masterful. It is exactly the kind of closing track that lingers in your mind long after the final note fades. The concluding piano passage brings the album to a close with great elegance. Fans of grand, atmospheric finales should add it to their playlists immediately.
With ATARAXIA, ALLT logically continues its evolution, further enriching its identity. Nu-metal influences, electronic touches, and modern textures complement a progressive metal sound that is already exceptionally well-honed. The album is brimming with emotion, constantly alternating between power and melody, and showcasing both the quality of the songwriting and Robin’s vocal performances. It is hard to believe that the band, formed in 2020, is only in its sixth year of existence, given how perfectly everything has already fallen into place.
Ultimately, ATARAXIA stands out as one of our favorite releases of 2026. Driven by a clearly defined identity, the album flows seamlessly from track to track without a single weak moment, distinguished by songwriting that is both modern and effective. While its runtime may seem relatively concise, that brevity fuels an irresistible urge to hit play again the moment it ends—further proof that ALLT has crafted a truly outstanding record.
