[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Après The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams sorti en 2024 et deux changements de vocaliste (le deuxième est en cours), Ingested s’apprête à sortir son nouvel album Denigration ce 8 mai 2026 via Metal Blade Records. Suite au renvoi du chanteur qui remplaçait le Slam King, les parties vocales ont été ré-enregistrées par les deux guitaristes Sean Hynes et Andrew Virrueta.
C’est Dragged Apart qui ouvre ce nouvel album mais c’est aussi le premier featuring avec Skyler Conder (Cell)! Après une introduction assez inquiétante, le groupe va nous ensevelir sous sa violence habituelle, c’est rapide, lourd et puissant autant au niveau instrumental que vocal, on assiste à une belle démonstration de ce qu’est Ingested aujourd’hui à savoir un rouleau compresseur autant en live que sur album. Et quelle performance de Lyn Jeffs à la batterie! Le single Merciless Reflection est cette fois-ci en duo avec Damonteal Harris du groupe Peeling Flesh (valeur sûre de la scène Slam/Brutal Death US) moins démonstratif mais toujours aussi pesant avec de jolis passages Slam exécutés par Damonteal on assiste ici à un très bon morceau sans trop de fioritures et qui reste relativement « accessible » par rapport au précédent. Cette fois-ci c’est une légende à savoir John Gallagher de Dying Fetus qui rejoint Ingested pour Watch You Fold, c’est massif avec une rythmique écrasante et les racines Death Metal sont là bien intactes comparés aux compositions précédentes qui pouvaient apporter un côté plus moderne.
Stitch By Stitch continue sur sa belle lancée et nous propose quelque chose de plus classique mais pas moins efficace, les touches mélodiques apportées par les guitares permettant une espèce de respiration sur le titre (comme dans tout les morceaux où elles apparaissent). La performance vocale est impeccable (on ne sait malheureusement pas si nous avons celles avec les deux guitariste ou la première version enregistrée) mais le chant guttural est hyper profond et va marteler les crânes d’entrée de jeu. Dredge The Dark est le dernier featuring sur ce nouvel opus avec Kyle Medina de Bodysnatcher là encore on est sur du pur Ingested avec les deux vocalistes qui matchent bien ensemble. Oaths Betrayed est bien plus lourd que ses prédécesseurs mais également plus pesant, un sentiment qu’on a ne serait-ce que dans les parties vocales. L’album se finit avec Cold Sun là encore pas vraiment de nouveauté mais Ingested arrive toujours à nous plonger dans son univers.
Ingested fait du Ingested avec ce nouvel album qui est certes un album de transition avec du nouveau au niveau vocal et personne ne sera (normalement) déçu! Même si certains pourront déplorer un manque de prise de risque, le groupe s’impose depuis quelques années déjà et continuera à le faire avec Denigration!

[ENGLISH VERSION] Following the release of *The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams* in 2024 and two changes of vocalist (the second is currently underway), Ingested are set to release their new album *Denigration* on 8 May 2026 via Metal Blade Records. Following the dismissal of the singer who had replaced the Slam King, the vocal parts were re-recorded by the two guitarists, Sean Hynes and Andrew Virrueta.
Dragged Apart opens this new album, but it also marks the first collaboration with Skyler Conder (Cell)! After a rather unsettling introduction, the band buries us under their usual violence; it’s fast, heavy and powerful both instrumentally and vocally, offering a fine demonstration of what Ingested is today—namely, a steamroller both live and on album. And what a performance from Lyn Jeffs on drums! The single ‘Merciless Reflection’ is this time a duet with Damonteal Harris of Peeling Flesh (a stalwart of the US Slam/Brutal Death scene); less showy but just as heavy, with some fine Slam passages executed by Damonteal. Here we have a very good track without too many frills, which remains relatively ‘accessible’ compared to the previous one. This time it’s a legend, namely John Gallagher of Dying Fetus, who joins Ingested for “Watch You Fold”; it’s massive with an overwhelming rhythm section, and the Death Metal roots remain very much intact compared to previous compositions, which could have brought a more modern edge.
Stitch By Stitch continues its fine run and offers us something more classic but no less effective; the melodic touches provided by the guitars allow the track a sort of breathing space (as in all the tracks where they feature). The vocal performance is impeccable (unfortunately, we don’t know if we have the versions featuring both guitarists or the first recorded version), but the guttural vocals are incredibly deep and will pound your skulls right from the start. “Dredge The Dark” is the final collaboration on this new album, featuring Kyle Medina from Bodysnatcher; once again, this is pure Ingested, with the two vocalists blending perfectly together. Oaths Betrayed is far heavier than its predecessors but also more oppressive, a feeling you get even just from the vocal parts. The album ends with Cold Sun; again, nothing particularly new, but Ingested always manages to draw us into their world.
Ingested are being true to form with this new album, which is certainly a transitional release featuring new vocal elements, and no one will (normally) be disappointed! Even if some might lament a lack of risk-taking, the band has been making their mark for several years now and will continue to do so with Denigration!
