[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] BILMURI est de retour ce 10 avril avec l’album “ KINDA HARD” et nous invite encore une fois dans leur univers, cet album signe le 15ème du groupe, dont le leader JOHNNY FRANCK nous partage un album où les règles n’existent pas et où les riffs de guitare et la pop se mêlent dans un chaos maîtrisé.
L’album s’ouvre avec le titre “KINDA HARD” un assaut frontal très lourd, des riffs travaillés, ont se fait alors traîner dans la bataille.
Contrairement à “TWICE” qui appuie sur le switch pop, les codes empruntés par le groupe depuis des années avec des solos de saxophone par l’incroyable GABI ROSE, tout en gardant des riffs forts et plus marqués que sur les précédents albums.
L’enchaînement avec “WORST PART OF YOU” nous restons dans cette vibe pop avec une touche un peu plus rock/metal, des lyrics touchants mais avec encore une fois un breakdown brutal.
Le titre “ ROCK BOTTOM” va dans cette direction progressive une atmosphère sereine et facile à écouter dans ce morceau le groupe nous rappelle à quel point la santé mentale est importante et la voix de JOHNNY FRANCK apporte une tonalité presque country à ce titre.
Contrairement à “MORE THAN HATE” une chanson plus brutale, avec une tonalité purement metalcore des growls forts et puissants étant une pré release avec le morceau “HARD2TELL” un morceau reste dans une lignée metalcore très émotionnelle et des lyrics qui nous raconte une histoire très personnelle, ces deux titres tout les deux ont déjà été joués live lorsque BILMURI était en première partie pour BAD OMENS lors de leur tournée européenne.
“ WHERE TO FIND ME” en featuring avec NOVELISTS un son tout en force et violence avec un solo de guitare sur la deuxième partie du morceau et un breakdown puissant qui nous fait imaginer une fosse en délire.
Une touche légèrement humoristique avec le titre “ ST4RF1SH SPR34DER” est une instrumentale courte de 30 secondes mais 30 secondes puissantes et brutales.
Une autre touche humoristique de la part du groupe avec ce titre “SHYT FYST”commence vraiment plus doucement, avec une batterie qui se construit autour des lyrics & vocals de JOHNNY, une façon intéressante de faire créer le morceau.
“ ALWAYS LET YOU DOWN” en featuring avec A DAY TO REMEMBER une autre pre release du groupe, ce morceau est une sorte de match avec les deux lead singers des groupes apportant une singularité au morceau très agréable avec chacun leur propre univers, très pop/punk.
Le morceau “BACK THEN” est dans les derniers titres de l’album avec des riffs de guitare lourds mais aussi un layering de guitare acoustique, un titre très complet et agréable dès les premières notes.
“HONEST” nous attaque avec un saxophone par GABI ROSE incroyable et bien placé, donnant une autre dimension à ce titre, un morceau bien configuré avec des lyrics touchant mais une instrumentale très pop et funky.
Le dernier titre “WAVES” un morceau plus vulnérable avec une guitare acoustique dès le début, une batterie qui monte en puissance pour arriver sur le breakdown à la BILMURI où tous les codes sont respectés, en bref un très bon titre de fin pour clôturer cet album.
BILMURI a su garder ses codes tout en se réinventant au fil des années, très plaisant à écouter et surtout il y en a pour tout les goûts tout au long de cet album, que vous soyez nouveau fan ou fan de la première heure, cet album va forcément rassembler tout le monde.

[ENGLISH VERSION] BILMURI is back on April 10 with the album “KINDA HARD” and invites us once again into their world. This marks the band’s 15th album, and frontman JOHNNY FRANCK shares an album where rules don’t exist and where guitar riffs and pop blend together in controlled chaos.
The album opens with the title track “KINDA HARD,”a heavy frontal assault featuring polished riffs that drag us into the fray.
Unlike “TWICE,” which leans into the pop side—drawing on the band’s long-standing stylistic codes with saxophone solos by the incredible GABI ROSE while still maintaining riffs that are stronger and more pronounced than on previous albums.
The transition to “WORST PART OF YOU” keeps us in that pop vibe with a slightly more rock/metal edge, featuring touching lyrics but, once again, a brutal breakdown.
The track “ROCK BOTTOM” continues in this progressive direction, with a serene atmosphere that’s easy on the ears; in this song, the band reminds us just how important mental health is, and JOHNNY FRANCK’s voice lends an almost country-like tone to the track.
Unlike “MORE THAN HATE” a more brutal track with a pure metalcore sound featuring loud, powerful growls which was released as a pre-release alongside the track “HARD2TELL,” a track that stays within a very emotional metalcore vein, with lyrics that tell a very personal story; both of these tracks have already been performed live when BILMURI opened for BAD OMENS during their European tour.
“WHERE TO FIND ME,” featuring NOVELISTS, is a track full of force and violence, with a guitar solo in the second half of the song and a powerful breakdown that makes us picture a frenzied mosh pit.

The final track, “WAVES,” is a more vulnerable piece that opens with an acoustic guitar, followed by drums that build in intensity to reach a BILMURI-style breakdown where all the band’s signature elements are present—in short, a great closing track to wrap up the album.
BILMURI has managed to stay true to its roots while reinventing itself over the years; it’s a pleasure to listen to, and above all, there’s something for everyone throughout this album.
