PRESIDENT jouaient pour la première fois en France à Paris, en ouverture d’une tournée européenne affichant complet en un temps record. Le groupe masqué, dont les identités restent volontairement floues, continue d’entretenir le mystère depuis sa révélation au Download Festival 2025. En quelques mois, le projet a connu une ascension fulgurante, parfois discutée, notamment autour de la question de son origine. Mais au-delà des débats, PRESIDENT propose surtout une approche singulière, entre electro, pop alternative et metalcore, avec une identité sonore déjà bien définie.
Dès l’entrée dans la salle, le décor est posé : des banderoles accrochées au balcon et des musiques bien américaines des années 60 et 70 nous plongent directement dans l’ambiance d’un rally présidentiel. Un cadre cohérent avec l’univers du groupe, qui prépare le public avant son arrivée sur scène.
Le concert débute à 20h45 avec Fearless et dès les premières notes, The President (chant) capte toute l’attention. Il apparaît presque immobile, scrutant la salle sans prononcer un mot. Les rares interventions passent par des messages préenregistrés, renforçant le mystère et l’aura du groupe. Les autres membres restent assez en retrait, la petite taille de la scène limitant leurs déplacements. Quoi qu’il en soit, on reste concentré sur le chanteur, extrêmement charismatique et véritable point focal du groupe.
Le son est vraiment propre, très proche des versions studio. La salle est très investie : une grande partie des spectateurs connaît déjà les paroles et n’hésite pas à chanter.
On a eu droit à une reprise de Change (In the House of Flies) de Deftones, qui s’intègre parfaitement au set. Le concert s’est terminé sur In the Name of the Father, premier single du groupe, repris en chœur par tout le monde.
Le principal point faible du concert reste sa durée. Trente minutes seulement, sans première partie, ce qui nous a laissé perplexe et plutôt frustré. PRESIDENT a joué l’intégralité de son EP, mais n’a pas proposé de titre inédit qui aurait pu compléter le set.
Néanmoins, ce premier passage en France montre un groupe déjà très sûr de son image et de son son. La proposition fonctionne, le public répond présent, mais le format court laisse un sentiment d’inachevé. On espère que la prochaine fois sera plus longue !

PRESIDENT played in France for the first time in Paris, opening a European tour that sold out in no time. The masked band, whose identities remain deliberately hidden, has kept up the mystery since their debut at the Download Festival 2025. In just a few months, they’ve risen fast on the scene, sometimes sparking debate about their origins. But beyond the chatter, PRESIDENT stands out with a mix of electronica, alternative pop, and metalcore, marked by a very distinctive sound.
From the moment you step into the venue, the stage is set: banners hanging from the balcony and classic American tracks from the 60s and 70s immediately put you in the mood for a presidential rally. It’s a fitting introduction to the band’s world, getting the audience ready before they even take the stage.
The show kicked off at 8:45 PM with Fearless, and from the first notes, The President (vocals) held everyone’s attention. He stood almost motionless, scanning the room without saying a word. His few interventions came through pre-recorded messages, altered with vocal effects, which only added to the band’s enigmatic presence. The other members stayed mostly in the background, the small stage limiting their movement, but all eyes were on the singer, the clear focal point of the performance.
The sound was very clean and close to the studio recordings. The crowd was fully engaged, with most people singing along to the lyrics. We also got a cover of Change (In the House of Flies) by Deftones, which fitted seamlessly into the set. The show closed with In the Name of the Father, the band’s first single, sung in unison by the audience.
The main drawback was the short runtime. Only thirty minutes, with no opening act, which left some of us surprised and a little frustrated. PRESIDENT played their entire EP but didn’t add any new tracks to round out the set.
Still, this first French show confirmed a band confident in both their sound and their image. The concept works, the audience is fully on board, but the short format left a sense of unfinished business. Here’s hoping the next show will be longer!
