Le groupe australien 5 Second of Summer est de retour après 5 ans d’absence, ce 14 novembre avec l’album EVERYONE’S A STAR, le groupe sous le label Capitol Record nous partage cette album plein de sens et une vision électro/rock.
L’album est composé de 12 chansons et plusieurs tonalités entrainantes qui donnent envie de danser et chanter à plein poumons.
Le groupe revisite ses racines de Boyband avec un tournant plus marqué, et nous propose 3 premières chansons avec une énergie et un pep’s marqué et plutôt agréable lors de la première écoute.
Cassant les codes que l’on avait donné à ce groupe avec “le plus drôle”, “le silencieux” il reviennent avec des alter ego version punk, plus rock qui eux ont décidé de briser ses codes attaché à eux.
L’album en lui même est travaillé et avec une sorte de satire et nous offre une introspection du groupe en lui même avec dans “EVERYONE’S A STAR” “Livin’ in the glitter, baby, I don’t feel anything/ Everythin’ is better when I don’t know what it means,” qui nous pointe une issue d’estime de soi et l’image qui accompagne la célébrité. Et offre le point de vue du groupe envers la célébrité.
Le ligne dans “NOT OK” “Bite the apple, baby,” nous montre une allégorie de Adam et Eve avec la tentation envers des habitudes qui nous détruit nous même.
L’album en majorité critique une partie des codes attribués au BoyBand trop parfaite et codifiée et la sexualisation des jeunes artistes.
Les 3 prochaines chansons nous emmènent progressivement vers des tonalités plus sombres.
Comme par exemple “ I’m Scared, I’ll Never Sleep Again”, nous fait penser à une sorte de rupture admise entre deux phrases.
L’album signe le retour fulgurant du groupe et une progression du groupe naturelle vers un style qui leur correspond et qui annonce une nouvelle ère dans le catalogue de 5 Second of Summer.
Il y a aussi eu la sortie de EVERYONE’S A STAR (FULLY EVOLVED) avec 4 chansons en extra pour le plus grand plaisir des fans !

[ENGLISH VERSION] Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer is back after a five-year hiatus with their November 14 release EVERYONE’S A STAR. The Capitol Records label shares this meaningful album with an electro/rock vibe.
The album features 12 songs and several catchy tunes that make you want to dance and sing at the top of your lungs.
The band revisits its boy band roots with a more pronounced twist, offering us three opening songs with a marked energy and pep that is rather pleasant on first listen.
Breaking the codes that had been assigned to this band with “the funniest” and “the quietest,” they return with punk, more rock-oriented alter egos who have decided to break the codes attached to them.
The album itself is well crafted and somewhat satirical, offering us an introspective look at the band itself with “EVERYONE’S A STAR” and “Livin’ in the glitter, baby, I don’t feel anything/ Everything’s better when I don’t know what it means,” which points to an issue of self-esteem and the image that accompanies fame. It offers the band’s perspective on fame.
The line in “NOT OK,” “Bite the apple, baby,” shows us an allegory of Adam and Eve with the temptation of habits that destroy us.
The album mainly criticizes some of the codes attributed to boy bands, which are too perfect and codified, and the sexualization of young artists.
