Inverno
Le morceau démarre sur les chapeaux de roues avant de plonger dans des couplets aériens et planants. L’ambiance évolue vers quelque chose d’épique, avec des solos et dépaysants et un chant qui flirte avec l’inattendu pour du metal.
A Mind Short Circuiting
Un des plus efficaces de l’album. Basse massive, effets glitchy, refrain accrocheur. Le morceau parle de surcharge mentale, de confusion. Clairement taillé pour le live.
Burning Light
Le son de la nature pose l’ambiance calmement. C’est une interlude musicale grandissante où oiseaux, instruments et musiques samplées s’harmonisent avant de laisser de nouveau place au chaos.
In Desolation
Un retour à un metalcore plus direct. Bon équilibre entre les voix criées et les passages plus mélodiques. Le morceau reflète le besoin de raviver une lumière intérieure. Le solo final surprend par sa retenue.
Torchbearer
Véritable décharge d’énergie, le morceau combine agressivité maîtrisée et mélodies galvanisantes. Les guitares tranchantes soutiennent un chant puissant, porteur d’un message de résilience sans jamais tomber dans la naïveté.
Activated
*Activated* commence sur une ambiance jazzy avec des claviers atmosphériques, avant que le saxophone, plus tard dans la chanson, vienne ajouter une touche surprenante. Le duo vocal intense entre Ronnie et Spencer mêle voix claires et growls, offrant une structure audacieuse qui sort des sentiers battus tout en restant parfaitement maîtrisée.
Dark Fable
Synthèse du style Born of Osiris version 2025. Technique, sombre, avec un côté presque mystique dans le texte. Une plongée dans les ténèbres, sans renoncer à l’élégance.
Transcendence
Avant-dernier morceau, plus répétitif et hypnotique. Montée progressive, ambiance presque rituelle. Il prépare la conclusion en douceur, sans relâcher la tension.
Blackwater
Clôture délicate. Peu de distorsion, beaucoup d’atmosphère. Une vraie ballade introspective, vulnérable, qui donne un nouveau relief à l’ensemble de l’album.
*Through Shadows* n’a pas vocation à mettre tout le monde d’accord, et c’est bien ce qui fait sa force. L’album prend des chemins de traverse, cultive les contrastes et privilégie l’intime à la démonstration. On y retrouve l’exigence rythmique et le sens du détail propres à Born of Osiris, mais au service d’une écriture plus posée, presque méditative.
