Le groupe canadien The Veer Union nous présente son nouvel album intitulé Reinvention, disponible le 20 février 2026 par le label Arising Empire. Ce nouvel opus marque l’arrivée de Glen Clark Briden (chanteur lead du groupe de Metal alternatif 2 Shadows), ici à la basse et au chant guttural.
Nous entrons dans le vif du sujet avec My Empire, qui va se placer assez facilement comme un banger et surtout un incontournable du Metal alternantif, avec sa rythmique catchy. Avec un tempo un peu plus mesuré Caught In The Crossfire, impose son contraste en étant plus sombre mais tout aussi puissant. On remarque également que le même patern va se montrer sur Sunk Your Teeth In, à la différence du solo qui va être légèrement plus mélodique.
Nous sommes ici en présence d’un océan de tourment avec Sea Of Fear, qui nous plonge au cœur de nos peurs les plus profondes en faisant tout ressortir avec agressivité. Une excellente chanson pour se défouler dans une Fury Room. Venom In My Veins est une réponse à la chanson précédente, si les démons intérieurs pouvait communiquer c’est sûrement comme cela qu’ils le feraient, et ça se ressent bien dans le breakdown qui est bien brutal. En parlant d’ailleurs de brutalité, le niveau monte d’un cran avec Meet Your Maker où le chant guttural est beaucoup plus appuyé et soutenu par l’instru.
On alourdit considérablement l’atmosphère avec Dying Light, une batterie bien lourde, un chant plus lent et grave, un chant guttural marqué, et guitare et basse sont accordées pour montrer un changement immédiat mais reste très reconnaissable.
The Veer Union nous propose un album de Metal alternatif tout ce qu’il y a de plus Moderne. En mélangeant toujours plus d’influence, les amateurs de groupes type Bad Omens, Motionless In White ou encore Bring Me The Horizon vont sûrement trouver leur bonheur auprès de ces canadiens survoltés.

Canadian band The Veer Union presents its new album, Reinvention, available February 20, 2026, on the Arising Empire Records label. This new opus marks the arrival of Glen Clark Briden (lead singer of alternative metal band 2 Shadows), here on bass and growling vocals.
We get right to the heart of the matter with My Empire, which will easily become a banger and, above all, a must-have in alternative metal, with its catchy rhythm. With a slightly more measured tempo, Caught In The Crossfire imposes its contrast by being darker but just as powerful. We also notice that the same pattern appears on Sunk Your Teeth In, with the exception of the solo, which is slightly more melodic.
We are now in the presence of an ocean of torment with Sea Of Fear, which plunges us into the heart of our deepest fears, bringing everything out with aggression. An excellent song to let off steam in a Fury Room. Venom In My Veins is a response to the previous song. If inner demons could communicate, this is surely how they would do it, and you can really feel it in the brutal breakdown. Speaking of brutality, the level goes up a notch with Meet Your Maker, where the guttural vocals are heavily emphasized and supported by the instrumental.
The atmosphere is considerably darkened with Dying Light, with heavy drums, slower and deeper vocals, pronounced guttural vocals, and guitar and bass tuned to show an immediate change but remain very recognizable.
The Veer Union offers us an alternative metal album that is as modern as it gets. By mixing more and more influences, fans of bands like Bad Omens, Motionless In White, and Bring Me The Horizon are sure to find what they’re looking for with these high-energy Canadians.
