[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Quatre ans après leur premier album Extirpated Mortal Process, les américains de Stabbing et leur Brutal Death Metal sont de retour avec Eon Of Obscenity qui sortira ce vendredi 30 janvier via Century Media Records. Après les avoir découverts totalement par hasard grâce à leur vocaliste Bridget Lynch, voyons ce que donne un album entier!
C’est le roulement de la batterie de Aron Hetsko qui lance Rotting Eternal et c’est parti pour la déferlante c’est lourd, oppressant et ultra gras tout ce qu’on aime dans le BDM en soit même si ici on vire également vers le Slam (encore un bon point) , et parlons du chant guttural de Bridget : Puissant et profond c’est tout simplement ce qui nous a attirés chez Stabbing et apparemment on compte bien rester un moment avec eux. Inhuman Torture Chamber a été dévoilé pour la promotion de l’album , qui tout en restant technique continue sur sa belle lancée tout en restant groovy as fuck! Sur Masticate The Subdued, Bridget continue à être impressionnante de technicité vocale sur ce titre qui pourrait facilement rappeler Devourment ou encore Brodequin et Marvin Ruiz à la guitare n’est pas en reste et propose un travail impeccable tout le long de l’album!
Est-ce qu’on va parler de tout les morceaux? Peut-être pas car ici tout est relativement similaire mais s’enchaîne de manière extrêmement fluide ce qui pourrait notamment s’expliquer par le fait que les titres soient relativement courts dans leur durée. Le morceau éponyme va nous rouler dessus comme ses prédécesseurs, Reborn To Kill Once More a des relents de Cannibal Corpse tandis que sur Ruminations on apprécie simplement le talent des musiciens pour un petit interlude instrumental. Nauseating Composition est en featuring avec Ricky Myers de Suffocation en soit pas un mauvais choix mais on a clairement du mal à savoir où commence l’un et où finit l’autre, c’est un peu dommage en soit… Les lignes de basse et de guitare sont ce qui frappent le plus notamment les petites « touches » de Marvin Ruiz sur Symphony Of Absurdity (et son côté Slam).
Amateurs de Brutal Death (Slam), ce nouvel album de Stabbing est fait pour vous! Ici on adore même si ce genre musical est quand même très répétitif c’est réellement ce qu’il nous faut pour passer un bon moment en posant son cerveau ou en donnant quelques patates dans un pit en live, on espère d’ailleurs très fort voir le groupe chez nous prochainement!

[ENGLISH VERSION] Four years after their debut album Extirpated Mortal Process, American band Stabbing and their brutal death metal are back with Eon Of Obscenity, due out this Friday, January 30, via Century Media Records. After discovering them completely by chance thanks to their vocalist Bridget Lynch, let’s see what a whole album sounds like!
Aron Hetsko‘s drum roll kicks off Rotting Eternal, and we’re off on a heavy, oppressive, and ultra-fat ride—everything we love about BDM, even if here we also veer towards Slam (another good point), and let’s talk about Bridget‘s guttural vocals: Powerful and deep, it’s simply what attracted us to Stabbing, and it looks like we’ll be sticking with them for a while. Inhuman Torture Chamber was unveiled to promote the album, which, while remaining technical, continues its momentum while staying groovy as fuck! On Masticate The Subdued, Bridget continues to impress with her vocal technique on this track, which could easily remind you of Devourment or Brodequin, but Marvin Ruiz on guitar is not to be outdone and delivers impeccable work throughout the album!
Are we going to talk about all the tracks? Perhaps not, because everything here is relatively similar but flows extremely smoothly, which could be explained by the fact that the tracks are relatively short in length. The eponymous track rolls over us like its predecessors. Reborn To Kill Once More has hints of Cannibal Corpse, while on Ruminations we simply appreciate the musicians’ talent for a short instrumental interlude. Nauseating Composition features Ricky Myers from Suffocation, which isn’t a bad choice in itself, but it’s clearly difficult to tell where one begins and the other ends, which is a bit of a shame… The bass and guitar lines are what stand out the most, especially Marvin Ruiz‘s little “touches” on Symphony Of Absurdity (and its Slam side).
Fans of brutal death (slam), this new album from Stabbing is for you! We love it here, even if this musical genre is still very repetitive. It’s really what we need to have a good time, switching off our brains or headbanging in a live pit. We really hope to see the band here soon!
