[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Après Family Drama sorti en 2023, RØRY revient en ce début d’année avec son premier « VRAI » album, intitulé Restoration il est disponible depuis quelques jours via Sadcore, le label de la chanteuse! Certains artistes construisent leur carrière très jeunes mais RØRY est tout le contraire de ceux-là, elle montre qu’à 40 ans on peut sortir son premier album et cartonner depuis quelques années (depuis 2022 précisément avec la sortie de son premier EP Good Die Young)
Dès le morceau d’ouverture if pain could talk, what would it say?, RØRY prouve qu’elle n’est pas là pour plaisanter. Un morceau Rock avec un influence Hip-Hop où elle s’adresse à elle-même (ou plutôt à son alter-égo) en évoquant ses démons intérieurs à l’instar de ce qu’aurait pu faire Eminem à l’époque avec Slim Shady. La valse des singles va commencer avec In The Bible, un premier morceau en forme de coup de poing sur lequel RØRY se lamente sur l’état actuel du monde notamment par rapport à la jeune génération. Ses capacités vocales ne sont plus à prouver mais là encore elles prendront les auditeurs aux tripes. WOLVES prend la suite et là encore la palette vocale de l’artiste se dévoile sur un morceau plus éthéré et atmosphérique tout en gardant un côté Rock notamment dans le refrain qui restera facilement en mémoire.
hold on voit revenir l’influence Hip-Hop et un nom apparaît : Roxane Emery qui n’est autre que le vrai nom de RØRY. La chanteuse fait ici face à ses erreurs passés de manière cathartique. Ce morceau pourra être perçu comme un véritable coup de poing émotionnel qui vivent la même chose car il montre que malgré la noirceur il y’a toujours une lumière au bout du tunnel et que personne n’est seul. BLOSSOM revient sur quelque chose de plus lourd musicalement tandis que Sherlock Holmes est clairement la ballade Rock par excellence! One Drink Away est un morceau accoustique soutenu par un beat plus Hip-Hop sur le deuxième couplet. RØRY rappelle ici que même si tout semble aller bien, tout peut finir par basculer et faire revenir à la case départ ne serait-ce qu’au niveau des addictions (drogue, alcool ou encore sexe sont évoqués dans ce morceau). MORALITY $UICIDE laisse l’espoir dehors et évolue cette fois-ci dans la colère et la frustration, la chanteuse pose ici ses mots sur l’état du monde, les guerres , les génocides (« it’s not genocide, if it’s not on a news ») , les problèmes environnementaux ou encore les troubles politiques, un morceau fort et engagé mais nécessaire!
SORRY I’M LATE est une chanson cathartique et triomphante qui montre que malgré les erreurs que l’on peut commettre, il n’est jamais trop tard pour faire quelque chose! Ce morceau est construit comme un véritable hymne et verra à coup sûr le public se déchaîner lors des concerts. Le dernier morceau est The Atheist, RØRY revient sur tout les thèmes abordés dans cet album en parlant notamment du fait qu’elle a laissé derrière elle son ancienne version et toute la joie que ça a pu lui apporter quand elle l’a fait!
Chaque morceau de Restoration apportera quelque chose de bon aux auditeurs qui se pencheront dessus. Construit comme une thérapie et avec beaucoup d’espoir, ce premier album de RØRY participe à l’ascension grandissante de l’artiste ! En espérant la voir très vite sur une scène Française!

[ENGLISH VERSION] After Family Drama, released in 2023, RØRY is back at the start of this year with her first ‘REAL’ album, Restoration, which has been available for a few days now via Sadcore, the singer’s label! Some artists build their careers at a very young age, but RØRY is just the opposite, showing that at the age of 40 you can release your first album and still be a big hit for a few years (since 2022 to be precise, with the release of her first EP Good Die Young).
Right from the opening track, if pain could talk, what would it say?, RØRY proves that she’s no joke. It’s a rock track with a hip-hop influence, on which she addresses herself (or rather her alter-ego) by evoking her inner demons in a similar way to what Eminem might have done back in the day with Slim Shady. The singles waltz began with In The Bible, a punchy first track on which RØRY lamented the current state of the world, particularly in relation to the younger generation. RØRY‘s vocal skills are unquestionable, but once again they will take listeners by storm. WOLVES follows, and here again the artist’s vocal palette is revealed on a more ethereal and atmospheric track, while retaining a rock edge, particularly in the chorus, which will easily stick in the memory.
hold on sees the hip-hop influence return and a name appears: Roxane Emery, which is none other than RØRY‘s real name. Here, the singer confronts her past mistakes in a cathartic way. The track can be seen as a real emotional punch in the gut, showing that despite the darkness there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and that no-one is alone. BLOSSOM return to something heavier musically, while Sherlock Holmes is clearly the rock ballad par excellence! One Drink Away is an acoustic track backed by a more hip-hop beat on the second verse. Here, RØRY reminds us that even if everything seems to be going well, it can all end up back at square one, if only in terms of addictions (drugs, alcohol and even sex are evoked in this track). MORALITY $UICIDE leaves hope behind, and this time moves into anger and frustration, the singer putting her words on the state of the world, wars, genocide (‘it’s not genocide, if it’s not on a news’), environmental problems and political unrest – a strong, committed track, but a necessary one!
SORRY I’M LATE is a cathartic, triumphant song that shows that despite the mistakes we can make, it’s never too late to do something! It’s built up like a real anthem and is sure to get the crowd going wild at their gigs. The final track is The Atheist, on which RØRY returns to all the themes touched on in this album, talking in particular about the fact that she left behind her old version and all the joy it brought her when she did!
Every track on Restoration will bring something good to the listener. Built like a therapy and with a lot of hope, this first album of RØRY takes part in the growing ascension of the artist! We hope to see her on stage in France very soon!
