C’est en 2021 que le groupe commence à se pencher sur ce nouvel opus, All is Dust, avec une volonté de revenir à une approche plus ancienne, pour la création. L’enregistrement, quant à lui, commencera durant l’année 2022. Le mixage ainsi que le mastering ont été réalisés par Kristian Kohle, aux Kohlekeller Studio. La pochette, d’ordinaire réalisée par l’artiste norvégien Terje Johnson, a cette fois-ci était faite par Giannis Nakos de remedartdesign. L’opus traite l’individu, dans sa volonté de survie et sa santé mentale, des thèmes forts encore des années après la pandémie. All is Dust sera disponible à partir du 28 juin, via Metal Blade Records.
L’introduction d’Antidote to Faith monte doucement. Le chant et les instruments arrivent et détruisent tout. On se fait rapidement entraîner par ce titre rapide et brutal, qui nous met de bonne humeur et présage de très bonnes choses pour la suite. On a le sentiment que cela ne va jamais s’arrêter. Passé la première minute, on remarque quelques changements et on a un peu de répit. Le chant prend la première place et donne le ton à l’ensemble. Cette seconde partie semble plus profonde et travaillée, avec une instrumentalité qui se veut dévastatrice. Pacifier se différencie avec une batterie qui détruit tout sur son passage. Elle donne le ton, rapide et dynamique. On découvre après des instruments jouant sur les effets et apportant des sonorités claires, tournant l’ambiance vers des influences Black Metal. Certains passages instrumentaux sont très rapides et donnent encore plus d’énergie à l’ensemble. Le rythme change au moment de sonorités plus claires et donne une belle profondeur. Le chant semble linéaire dans un premier temps mais on le retrouve à faire des petites piques où il faut. Vers la moitié du morceau on découvre des changements, apportés par un très beau solo de guitare. C’est le véritable point d’orgue du morceau, nous livrant quelque chose d’incroyable, de grandiose. Ce morceau montre toute la grandeur du groupe et termine avec une belle note plus agressive. All is Dust ouvre directement sur le chant, les instruments juste derrière sont prêts à nous piétiner. J’aime beaucoup le rythme qui se dégage ici, oscillant rapidement entre deux niveaux différents. Le refrain semble plus appuyé, cherchant toujours dans le plus profond et le plus grave, retrouvant une petite inspiration Black Metal. On change radicalement de rythme et on part sur quelque chose d’encore plus rapide où le chant s’y colle, avec des paroles courtes et percutantes. On alterne avec des passages où les instruments sont mis en avant, ralentissement légèrement et à l’inverse, on en retrouve avec un chant presque strident et qui marque.

Swords Unsheathed ouvre sur une instrumentalité grandiose qui nous met directement dans le bain. Le chant quant à lui semble assez lointain et même se situer derrière les instruments. Le titre commence avec une certaine douceur, à leur façon bien sûr et l’ensemble va être assez linéaire durant la première minute. Ensuite des changements vont s’opérer, apportant beaucoup plus de profondeur et de rapidité. Un vrai jeu de rythme va se mettre en place, prenant de nouvelles tournures. Un titre qui cache bien son jeu et que l’on apprécie rapidement. Per Aspera débute avec hargne et rapidité, c’est le chant qui va réduire le rythme et calmer les choses mais que sur une courte durée. Les instruments reviennent vite à la charge, créant une ambiance assez sombre et planante à la fois. On y découvre un beau solo de guitare, qui apporte un changement bienvenue et un peu de clarté. Ces passages sont de courtes durées car le groupe nous roule dessus avec son agressivité et son rythme toujours plus rapide. Edifier débute avec une introduction forte et uniquement instrumentale où se mêle des sonorités black metal. S’ajoute un chant haché qui donne plus de profondeur. Une nouvelle fois le groupe joue sur les rythmes avec des passages plus sur la retenue et d’autres toujours plus rapide et brutal. J’aime beaucoup ce jeu et ce morceau long et complexe nous propose une belle aventure.
In Vain débute avec la guitare qui crée une ambiance calme et assez belle. La batterie va venir la rejoindre et donner plus de profondeur, renforçant l’ambiance qui se crée. On prend notre temps dans ce début de morceau et on commence à percevoir quelques détails annonciateurs des prochains changements. Le chant vient d’abord exploser avant de reprendre le ton plus chill et va venir toucher nos sentiments. L’ajout des chœurs donne une toute autre dimension mais nous surprend également. La dernière minute de ce morceau est incroyable et clôture parfaitement ce titre. Render Fear Powerless ouvre sur quelque chose de rapide et rentre dedans. Le chant apporte un beau dynamisme et on se fait clairement emporter par ce torrent. Il va varier le type de chant et donner une belle profondeur avec cet effet simple et qui est toujours aussi efficace. On alterne avec des passages plus brut et des passages instrumentaux magnifiques. Un morceau qui m’a totalement transportée. Dividers à une instrumentalité qui descend dans le grave et le sombre. Une petite influence black metal va d’ailleurs en sortir et renforce le rythme de ce titre. Il se démarque rapidement, changeant de ce que le groupe nous a proposé précédemment, poussant toujours plus. Les instruments sont mis en avant, notamment grâce à un riff clair et le chant nous offre un beau échantillon de sa palette vocale. Into the Hollow est le dernier titre de ce nouvel album et le chant nous agresse dès la première seconde. Il est puissant, impressionnant et ne nous laisse aucune chance. La batterie reste dans cette même idée et l’ensemble nous propose une introduction percutante. Le titre est dynamique et brut, créant le sentiment que cela ne va jamais s’arrêter. Une belle façon de conclure car ce morceau représente pleinement ce que le groupe a à nous offrir.
All is Dust est un album percutant et fort. Le groupe nous plonge toujours plus dans leur univers et nous propose des morceaux incroyables et toujours aussi bien travaillés.

The introduction to Antidote to Faith rises slowly. The vocals and instruments come in and destroy everything. We quickly get carried away by this fast and brutal title, which puts us in a good mood and bodes very good things for the future. We have the feeling that this will never stop. After the first minute, we notice some changes and we have a little respite. The singing takes the first place and sets the tone for the whole. This second part seems deeper and more elaborate, with an instrumentality that is intended to be devastating. Pacifier differentiates itself with a battery that destroys everything in its path. She sets the tone, fast and dynamic. We then discover instruments playing on the effects and providing clear sounds, turning the atmosphere towards Black Metal influences. Some instrumental passages are very fast and give even more energy to the whole. The rhythm changes with clearer sounds and gives a nice depth. The song seems linear at first but we find it making little spikes where it is needed. Around halfway through the song we discover changes, brought about by a very beautiful guitar solo. This is the real highlight of the piece, giving us something incredible, grandiose. This song shows all the greatness of the group and ends with a beautiful, more aggressive note. All is Dust opens directly with vocals, the instruments just behind are ready to trample us. I really like the rhythm that emerges here, oscillating quickly between two different levels. The chorus seems stronger, always searching for the deepest and most serious, finding a little Black Metal inspiration. We radically change pace and go for something even faster where the singing sticks to it, with short and punchy lyrics. We alternate with passages where the instruments are highlighted, slowing down slightly and conversely, we find some with almost shrill and striking singing.

Swords Unsheathed opens with a grandiose instrumentality that puts us straight into the mix. The vocals seem quite distant and even lie behind the instruments. The title begins with a certain softness, in their own way of course and the whole thing will be quite linear during the first minute. Then changes will take place, bringing much more depth and speed. A real rhythm game will be set up, taking new turns. A title that hides its game well and that we quickly appreciate. Per Aspera begins with aggression and speed, it is the song which will reduce the rhythm and calm things down but only for a short duration. The instruments quickly return to the charge, creating an atmosphere that is quite dark and atmospheric at the same time. We discover a beautiful guitar solo there, which brings a welcome change and a little clarity. These passages are of short duration because the group rolls over us with its aggression and its ever faster rhythm. Edifier begins with a strong and only instrumental introduction where black metal sounds are mixed. Added a choppy vocals which give more depth. Once again the group plays on rhythms with passages more on restraint and others always more rapid and brutal. I really like this game and this long and complex piece offers us a great adventure.
In Vain begins with the guitar which creates a calm and quite beautiful atmosphere. The drums will join it and give more depth, reinforcing the atmosphere that is created. We take our time at the beginning of the piece and we begin to perceive some details announcing the next changes. The song first explodes before returning to a more chill tone and will touch our feelings. The addition of choirs gives a whole new dimension but also surprises us. The last minute of this song is incredible and closes this track perfectly. Render Fear Powerless opens with something quick and gets into it. The singing brings a beautiful dynamism and we are clearly carried away by this torrent. It will vary the type of singing and give a nice depth with this simple effect which is still as effective. We alternate with more raw passages and magnificent instrumental passages. A piece that totally transported me. Dividers has an instrumentality that descends into the serious and the dark. A little black metal influence will also emerge and reinforce the rhythm of this title. It quickly stands out, changing from what the group has previously offered us, always pushing for more. The instruments are highlighted, notably thanks to a clear riff and the vocals offer us a beautiful sample of his vocal palette. Into the Hollow is the last track of this new album and the singing attacks us from the first second. He is powerful, impressive and leaves us no chance. The drums remain in this same idea and the whole offers us a striking introduction. The title is dynamic and raw, creating the feeling that it will never stop. A great way to conclude because this song fully represents what the group has to offer us.
All is Dust is a hard-hitting and strong album. The group immerses us more and more into their world and offers us incredible pieces that are as well crafted as ever.
