Le groupe américain de Hard Rock Halestorm reviennent avec avec un nouvel album intitulé Everest, disponible à partir du 8 Août 2025 par le label Atlantic Records.
Quelques mots du groupe à ce sujet : « Notre album Everest raconte l’histoire de notre parcours en tant que groupe, riche en fins heureuses et en nouveaux départs », explique Lzzy Hale, chanteuse. « Nous tissons une toile complexe mêlant mélancolie, frustration, colère et le vaste purgatoire de l’amour et de l’amour perdu. C’est un véritable rollercoaster musical, avec des détours épiques, d’excellentes compositions et des rebondissements complètement déjantés. L’opus débute avec Fallen Star qui envoie du lourd dès le début avec des riffs bien puissants mais qui laisse place également à la mélodie et à une grande mélancolie. Cette dernière se retrouve aussi énormément dans Everest, titre éponyme qui va se démarque avec ses paroles rempli de sens et chargé d’émotions. Le chemin semble se poursuivre avec Shiver, qui va reprendre tous les codes dans slows de Heavy Metal des années 80 à la perfection et toujours porté par la voix puissante et sans faille de Lzzy où elle nous parle d’une relation à sens unique.
L’atmosphère monte d’un cran avec Like A Woman Can, une chanson qui m’a donné un feeling incroyable, une tension érotique dans la guitare et dans l’air assez puissante, ce qui en fait la chanson parfaite pour un moment intime. Le sujet est assez claire notamment avec ces paroles “I’m just a woman, and you’re just a man, we both have two hands/ Why can’t yours understand how to touch me; I want to stay but you can’t touch me the way a woman can,”
Rain Your Blood On Me a un batterie assez intéressante lors des refrains qui va être scandé comme une incantation avant de reprendre un rythme plus frénétique en accélérant la cadence considérablement. Un beau jeu de rythme qui fait vibrer la chanson encore plus. Ma préférence va pour le refrain qui me faire vibrer.
Darkness Always Wins explore également de nouveaux horizons. S’ouvrant sur une boucle épurée, il se transforme progressivement en un morceau grunge aux accents prog. le refrain est également puisant avec des paroles simple et mémorable.
Gather The Lambs va se concentrer sur la guitare en nous offrant une performance classique simple et efficace qui plaira à un grand nombre. Puis le groupe envoie Watch Out! qui rappel un peu les codes Hard rock mais surtout une bonne vibe Hardcore, avec un chant absolument époustouflant. C’EST UN BANGER ! Et on alterne encore avec Broken Doll qui vient calmer la tempête créer juste avant avec un titre qui respire la pop/rock des années 2000 que l’on pouvait retrouver dans toutes les séries américaines. Dernier enchainement entre chanson agressive et chanson plus clame avec K-I-L-L-I-N-G qui vient bousculer tout ce petit monde peut se faire une place plus que mérité.
I Gave You Everything est un peu comme une conclusion d’une histoire avec une vulnérabilité dans la voix qui sera vite remplacée par une colère voir même une acidité bien présente. Encore une chanson qui va renvoyé beaucoup sur le plan émotionnel, qui va être appuyé par l’ultime chanson How Will You Remember Me en se positionnant fièrement comme LE slow même s’il est incroyable va chambouler plus d’un fan.
Halestorm nous propose un album riche dans tout les sens du terme. Musicalement c’est une pépite avec énormément de variation dans la composition ainsi que le choix de positionnement des titres. On y retrouve aussi bien du Halestorm pur, qu’une énorme prise de risque et c’est 100% réussie pour ma part. Top des chansons : Like A Woman Can, Watch Out!, K-I-L-L-I-N-G.

American hard rock band Halestorm are back with a new album entitled Everest, available from August 8, 2025, on the Atlantic Records label.

The album kicks off with Fallen Star, which hits hard from the start with powerful riffs but also leaves room for melody and great melancholy. The latter is also very much present in Everest, the title track that stands out with its meaningful and emotionally charged lyrics. The journey seems to continue with Shiver, which perfectly captures all the codes of 80s heavy metal slow songs, carried by Lzzy’s powerful and flawless voice as she sings about a one-sided relationship.
The atmosphere is taken up a notch with Like A Woman Can, a song that gave me an incredible feeling, with an erotic tension in the guitar and in the air that is quite powerful, making it the perfect song for an intimate moment. The subject matter is quite clear, especially with lyrics like “I’m just a woman, and you’re just a man, we both have two hands/ Why can’t yours understand how to touch me; I want to stay but you can’t touch me the way a woman can.”
Rain Your Blood On Me has some interesting drumming during the choruses, which are chanted like an incantation before picking up a more frenetic rhythm, accelerating the tempo considerably. It’s a beautiful interplay of rhythms that makes the song even more vibrant. My favorite part is the chorus, which really gets me going.
Darkness Always Wins also explores new horizons. Opening with a stripped-down loop, it gradually transforms into a grunge track with prog accents. The chorus is also powerful, with simple and memorable lyrics.
Gather The Lambs focuses on the guitar, offering us a simple and effective classic performance that will appeal to a wide audience. Then the band unleashes Watch Out!, which is somewhat reminiscent of hard rock but above all has a good hardcore vibe, with absolutely breathtaking vocals. IT’S A BANGER! And we alternate again with Broken Doll, which calms the storm created just before with a track that exudes the pop/rock of the 2000s that could be found in all American TV series. The last sequence between an aggressive song and a calmer song with K-I-L-L-I-N-G, which shakes up the whole scene, is more than deserved.
I Gave You Everything is a bit like the conclusion of a story, with a vulnerability in the voice that is quickly replaced by anger and even a certain acidity. Another song that will resonate emotionally, supported by the final song How Will You Remember Me, which proudly positions itself as THE slow song, even if it is incredible and will upset more than one fan.
Halestorm offers us an album that is rich in every sense of the word. Musically, it’s a gem with a lot of variation in the composition and the choice of track positioning. It features both pure Halestorm and a huge risk-taking, which is 100% successful in my opinion. Top songs: Like A Woman Can, Watch Out!, K-I-L-L-I-N-G.
