Fabienne Erni est de retour avec un nouvel album intitulé Starveil, disponible le 13 mars 2026. Il s’ait de son premier album en solo.
En ouverture nous avons Vareon, qui du haut de ses 30 secondes, nous montre déjà l’étendue de ce qui va se passer. Et c’est pour cela que Sky’s Breath prends le relais avec la même douceur et intensité que la précédente tout en aillant une influence Metal qui s’installe. Pour la suite c’est avec beaucoup de puissance vocale que Ritual va s’imposer. Notons aussi qu’il s’agit d’un feat avec Lena Scissorhands d’Infected Rain et qu’il faut plus de collaboration dans ce genre tant le contraste est parfait. Rien ne va s’arrêter puisque Stone By Stone, se positionne aisément comme un classique Pop / Rock avec son refrain accrocheur.
Titre éponyme, Starveil, reprends les influences Folk Metal que nous connaissons tous, c’est simple, efficace et nous permet de nous transporter dans un voyage quasi spirituel. Et ce voyage continuera avec Living And The Dead tout en légèreté. En parlant de ça, Shaelun Vyrathi offre une interlude immersive intense. Pour Forged In Me, les influences sont diverses, aussi bien dans ses expériences passées que dans les succès Pop de ces dernières années avec un petit Metal que l’on apprécie toujours autant. Énorme inspiration des classiques de Metal Symphonique pour Never Let Go avec des paroles puissantes.
Une autre interlude avec Elren, qui met en avant la beauté du violon en accord avec les envolées lyriques qui nous transporte encore une fois dans un autre monde. C’est Thalen Muron qui nous permet de rester dans cet autre monde avec une chanson aux chœurs remplis de vocalise en chant diaphonique. Une influence folk presque tribal pour Call Beyond Time qui se marie très bien avec le Metal pour en faire un banger exceptionnel. Et nous concluons cet opus comme nous l’avons commencé avec douceur et légèreté pour Lullaby Echo, une jolie ballade pleine d’harmonie et très touchante.
Fabienne Erni impose sa vision de la musique dans ce premier album, et c’est tout simplement exceptionnel. Entre les multiples influences, mais aussi les collaborations qui sont toutes bien réfléchies, l’album est très bien construit, la logique des chansons est adéquate. Fabienne va très facilement trouver son public solo qui mélange Eluveitie et Illumishade avec sa touche personnelle.

Fabienne Erni is back with a new album entitled Starveil, available on March 13, 2026. This is her first solo album.
The album opens with Vareon, which, at just 30 seconds long, already gives us a taste of what’s to come. That’s why Sky’s Breath takes over with the same softness and intensity as the previous track, while adding a touch of metal influence. Next up is Ritual, which stands out with its powerful vocals. It’s also worth noting that this is a collaboration with Lena Scissorhands from Infected Rain, and that we need more collaborations like this, as the contrast is perfect. Nothing is going to stop now, as Stone By Stone easily positions itself as a pop/rock classic with its catchy chorus.
The title track, Starveil, draws on the folk metal influences we all know and love. It’s simple, effective, and takes us on an almost spiritual journey. And that journey continues with the lighthearted Living And The Dead. Speaking of which, Shaelun Vyrathi offers an intense, immersive interlude. Forged In Me draws on a variety of influences, both from the band’s past experiences and from the pop hits of recent years, with a touch of metal that we still love. Never Let Go is heavily inspired by symphonic metal classics and features powerful lyrics.
Another interlude with Elren highlights the beauty of the violin in harmony with the lyrical flights of fancy that once again transport us to another world. Thalen Muron allows us to remain in this other world with a song featuring backing vocals filled with diaphonic singing. Call Beyond Time has an almost tribal folk influence that blends very well with metal to create an exceptional banger. And we conclude this opus as we began it, with gentleness and lightness for Lullaby Echo, a beautiful ballad full of harmony and very touching.
Fabienne Erni imposes her vision of music in this first album, and it is simply exceptional. Between the multiple influences, but also the collaborations, which are all well thought out, the album is very well constructed, and the logic of the songs is adequate. Fabienne will easily find her solo audience, mixing Eluveitie and Illuminshade with her personal touch.
