[English version below] Quoi de mieux qu’un concert pour débuter ce mois de mars ? C’est au Backstage que se produisait, ce 1er mars le groupe de rock britannique Caskets, de retour en France où ils ont pris l’habitude de poser leurs valises ! C’est accompagnés de Colorblind, originaire du Texas aux Etats-Unis que les anglais passaient cette fois-ci et, une fois n’est pas coutume, c’était eux les stars de la soirée ! Nous avons eu le plaisir de nous rendre à ce concert et d’ainsi revoir le groupe que nous avions pu notamment voir en première partie de groupes tel que We Came As Romans ou encore Of Mice and Men. Merci beaucoup à Marine pour les photos et à Eros de Kinda pour l’invitation !
Ce sont les américains de Colorblind qui ouvraient ce soir et ce dès 20h. Un concert qui commence relativement tard ! Le groupe de pop/rock américain propose un set avec ses titres les plus connus et visiblement des fans à eux étaient présents ce soir puisqu’on aperçoit ça et là des fans chanter les paroles aux côtés de Travis, vocaliste de la formation.
Nous aurons droit à huit titres dont Needle Eye et Car Crash du nouvel album à venir. Les afficionados retrouveront également des chansons un peu plus anciennes – le groupe étant relativement récent – tel que Motionless ou encore Ghosts ( que le chanteur dédie à son frère : » This song is for all those you can’t say hi to, bye to or that can’t stand next to you » )
Dans tout les cas Colorblind propose un set vraiment good vibe et chauffe la salle comme il se doit pour l’arrivée de Caskets ! Le set sera relativement court mais efficace, on passe un bon moment !
Il est 20h50 quand les anglais de Caskets prennent place sur la scène du Backstage by the Mill. Le concert commence très très fort avec une foule au taquet, ça chante, ça headbang, la fosse est mouvementée et ça fait plaisir à voir. Les membres de la formations sont tous souriants et visiblement contents de jouer dans une salle pleine et à l’atmosphère intimiste. Le groupe arrive sur scène avec Guiding Light de son album de 2023 et poursuit avec des titres très connus de sa discographie tels que More than Misery ou Drowned in Emotion. On apprécie le timbre de Matt, chanteur de la formation, qui pousse toujours sa voix très loin et dont la puissance sur les growls est notable. Les musiciens qui l’accompagnent ont tous une super énergie sur scène et le concert poursuit dans une ambiance de partage. Malgré que le public connaisse très bien les chansons le pit restera très calme ce soir ! Le vocaliste tentera de réclamer des circle pit, une demande pas vraiment suivie par le public qui préfère hurler les paroles avec lui.
Alternant des titres de ses deux albums (respectivement sortis en 2021 et 2023) Caskets proposera un set chargé en émotions et dont la setlist, courte, est terriblement efficace et ravie les fans du groupe ! Matt prend la parole pour annoncer qu’ils vont jouer un titre ancien, qui date de sept ans déjà. La formation revient ainsi sur les tout débuts de sa carrière avec Signs, un titre acclamé par la foule. Après cela il demandera au public de faire du bruit et d’applaudir le crew et les personnes incroyables qui leur permettent de venir en France et de se produire sur scène. Il explique que toutes les personnes présentes sur la tournée prennent ainsi du temps sur leurs vies familiales et personnelles et qu’il est infiniment reconnaissant pour cela.
Il reste à ce stade de la soirée trois titres, déjà. Lost in the echoes est hurlé par le public et passe trop vite ! Elle est l’occasion d’une ovation de la foule mais Matt surenchérit : « This is the song you’re all waiting for » en faisant référence à la très connue Glass Heart.
« One more song left for you » signe la fin de la soirée avec Better way out. L’impression que le concert a été très court est réelle à la fin du titre. Les anglais quittent la scène sous l’ovation de la foule tout en promettant de revenir très vite dans nos contrées !
[ENGLISH VERSION] What better way to kick off March than with a concert? The British rock band Caskets performed at Backstage on March 1st, back in France, where they’ve made a habit of settling down! This time, the English band was accompanied by Colorblind, from Texas, USA, and, for once, they were the stars of the evening! We had the pleasure of attending this concert and seeing the band again, having previously seen them opening for acts such as We Came As Romans and Of Mice and Men. The American band Colorblind opened the evening, starting at 8 p.m. A concert that started relatively late! The American pop/rock band offers a set featuring their most famous hits, and it’s clear that some of their fans were present tonight, as we can see fans singing the lyrics alongside Travis, the band’s vocalist.
We’ll be treated to eight tracks, including Needle Eye and Car Crash from the upcoming new album. Fans will also be able to enjoy some older songs—the band is relatively new—such as Motionless and Ghosts (which the singer dedicates to his brother: « This song is for all those you can’t say hi to, bye to, or that can’t stand next to you »).
In any case, Colorblind offers a truly good-vibe set and warms up the room as expected for the arrival of Caskets! The set is relatively short but effective; we’re having a great time!

The concert starts off very, very strong with a crowd on fire, singing, headbanging, the pit is lively and it’s a pleasure to see. The members of the band are all smiling and visibly happy to play in a packed room with an intimate atmosphere. The band arrives on stage with Guiding Light from their 2023 album and continues with well-known tracks from their discography such as More than Misery or Drowned in Emotion. We appreciate the tone of Matt, the band’s singer, who always pushes his voice very far and whose power on growls is notable. The musicians who accompany him all have great energy on stage and the concert continues in an atmosphere of sharing. Despite the audience knowing the songs very well, the pit remains very quiet tonight! The vocalist tries to request circle pits, a request not really followed by the audience who prefer to shout the lyrics along with him.
Alternating tracks from these two albums (released in 2021 and 2023 respectively), Caskets will deliver an emotionally charged set whose short setlist is incredibly effective and will delight the band’s fans! Matt takes the stage to announce that they will be playing an old song, already seven years old. The band returns to the very beginnings of their career with Signs, a song acclaimed by the crowd. Afterward, he asks the audience to make noise and applaud the crew and the incredible people who make it possible for them to come to France and perform on stage. He explains that everyone on the tour is taking time out of their family and personal lives, and that he is infinitely grateful for that.
At this point in the evening, there are already three songs left. Lost in the Echoes is roared by the audience and goes by too quickly! It’s met with a standing ovation from the crowd, but Matt adds: « This is the song you’re all waiting for, » referencing the well-known Glass Heart.
« One More Song Left for You » brings the evening to a close with Better Way Out. The impression that the concert was very short is real at the end of the song. The English band leaves the stage to a standing ovation from the crowd, promising to return to our shores very soon!
