Le groupe allemand de Zombie Metal Dominum est de retour avec un troisième album intitulé Night Is Calling, disponible le 3 juillet 2026 par le label Napalm Records.
Cette fois-ci l’histoire prends place dans un cirque comme l’indique le thème musical de The Circus Is In Town, omniprésent et servant de base pour la rythmique. Petit clin d’œil au français de la part du Mister Loyal du groupe Dr. Dead qui dit quelques mot en français dans le refrain « Mesdames et messieurs, nous devenons fous« , ce qui indique très clairement que leur santé mentale ne s’améliore pas au fur et à mesure des albums, et c’est exactement le sujet du prochain morceau Doctor Doctor. On y entends Dr. Dead parler à son docteur d’un amour tellement puissant que ses symptômes empirent et qu’il est lui même en tant que docteur dans une impasse. Pour Children Of The Night, cette fois ci notre leader parle de Loups Garou et autres créatures fantastique qui horde la nuit, remplis de contractions comme aimer la musique et le meurtre. Dans cette chanson on apprends qu’il faut surtout écouter et analyser les bruits de la nuit. Et comme le nom de la prochaine chanson l’indique cela parle de Nosferatu, et on vous laisse vous pencher sur les paroles.
Dark Melodies vient contrecarrer l’ambiance sombre et fantastique avec une sorte de berceuse qui agirait comme un sort de protection. Night Is Calling en feat avec Marina La Torraca de Battle Beast, où on suit l’histoire de la proie et du chasseur avec les deux points de vues qui sont très bien contrastés avec les deux voix. Maintenant place à la légende des tueurs en série Jack The Ripper (Jack l’éventreur) et cette chanson lui rends hommage tout en mettant en garde les auditeurs de la menace qui pèse. Pour la suite une cover de Thriller de Michael Jackson, comme le groupe a l’habitude de faire à chaque album. Cette fois ci c’est l’heure de la légende du fils du diable dans Devil’s Son, met en avant ce mythe comme s’il était réel avec Le Diable lui même qu’il parle de sa progéniture en étant un Nepo Baby Punk. Pour la chanson I Don’t Drink Wine, Dr.Dead se personnifie en vampire en expliquant qu’il ne boit pas de vin mais que son péché mignon n’est autre que du sang. Pour conclure cet album Endzeit qui met en scène la fin du monde, presque comme une caricature du monde actuel. Il y a aussi Don’t Get Bitten By The Wrong Ones et Hey Living People dans une version acoustique en bonus.
Dominum nous propose un album encore chargé en mythe et personnages fantastiques mais aussi en riffs et mélodies à la hauteur des personnages. Dr. Dead et sa bande de zombie sont-ils devenu inarrêtables?

The German zombie metal band Dominum is back with a third album titled Night Is Calling, available on July 3, 2026, via Napalm Records.
This time, the story takes place in a circus, as indicated by the musical theme of The Circus Is In Town, which is ever-present and serves as the foundation for the rhythm section. There’s a little nod to French from the band’s ringmaster, Dr. Dead, who says a few words in French in the chorus—“Mesdames et messieurs, nous devenons fous”—which makes it very clear that their mental health isn’t improving with each album, and that’s exactly the subject of the next track, Doctor Doctor. In it, we hear Dr. Dead talking to his doctor about a love so powerful that his symptoms are getting worse and that he himself, as a doctor, is at a dead end. For Children Of The Night, this time our frontman talks about werewolves and other fantastical creatures that roam the night, driven by urges such as a love of music and murder. In this song, we learn that above all, we must listen to and analyze the sounds of the night. And as the title of the next song suggests, it’s about Nosferatu—we’ll leave it to you to delve into the lyrics.
Dark Melodies counteracts the dark, fantastical atmosphere with a sort of lullaby that acts as a protective spell. Night Is Calling, featuring Marina La Torraca of Battle Beast, follows the story of the prey and the hunter, with the two perspectives beautifully contrasted by the two voices. Now it’s time for the legend of the serial killer Jack the Ripper, and this song pays homage to him while warning listeners of the looming threat. Next up is a cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, as the band has made a habit of doing on every album. This time, it’s time for the legend of the devil’s son in Devil’s Son,” which brings this myth to life as if it were real, with the Devil himself speaking of his offspring as a “Nepo Baby Punk.” In the song I Don’t Drink Wine, Dr. Dead embodies a vampire, explaining that he doesn’t drink wine but that his guilty pleasure is none other than blood. The album concludes with Endzeit, which depicts the end of the world, almost like a caricature of today’s world. There’s also Don’t Get Bitten By The Wrong Ones and Hey Living People for both of them in acoustic version as bonus tracks.
