[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] On vous parle de TX2 depuis un petit moment maintenant entre ses nombreuses sorties de singles, son premier concert Sold-Out en France et ses collaborations fructueuses, l’artiste américain a fait de TX2, une entité soutenue depuis une dizaine d’années par des fans dévoués. Son premier album End Of Us marque l’aboutissement de tout ça et il sera disponible ce vendredi 13 février via Hopeless Records.
Autant dire les choses comme elles sont, la moitié des morceaux de l’album sont déjà connus et on commence d’ailleurs par un des singles sorti juste avant la date parisienne de TX2 : Feed en duo avec DeathbyRomy. Le morceau joue sur plusieurs contrastes intéressants notamment quelque chose d’assez « Metalcore » au niveau des riffs avant qu’on ne retrouve quelque chose de plus doux au niveau des couplets sur lesquels les voix des deux vocalistes se marient parfaitement bien, là où TX2 apporte un côté plus brut, la chanteuse apporte, elle , quelque chose de plus envoûtant avant que les riffs ne reprennent le relai avec les screams du frontman. La voix de Romy continue à nous charmer telle un vampire sur le deuxième couplet, le sujet vampirique est ici évoqué notamment au niveau des paroles puisque le duo évoque l’attachement toxique et la consommation émotionnelle et le décrit comme quelque chose d’épuisant. Deuxième duo et deuxième single avec Ekoh< sur Nice Guy qui apporte une autre idée du chaos avec ses couplets Rap, un côté plus symphonique avec l’ajout d’instruments à cordes porte le morceau plus loin et en fait quelque chose de plus intéressant. Les influences se mélangent ici et entre My Chemical Romance et Pierce The Veil, les plus Emos d’entre nous seront ravis notamment avec ce break qui semble sortir tout droit des enfers. S’en suit un court interlude REJECT VAMPIRISM avant (QUELLE SURPRISE) un autre single HOSTAGE (they will not erase us) , un morceau rempli de revendication, comme si TX2 cherchait ici à monter son army, il n’est plus question ici d’individualité mais d’une unité marginale, HOSTAGE rassemble et sera à coup sûr l’hymne du groupe pour la suite.
Et enfin on a du nouveau pour la suite avec The Resistance qui rappelle Yungblud par moment notamment dans son approche plus Punk avec des cris surtout sur la fin et un côté plus original que les morceaux précédents. 6 Shots Left continue dans l’innovation avec notamment quelques notes de trompette, un morceau entraînant qui fera bouger les fosses en live et un refrain hymnique que sera repris (très fort) par les fans. The Rain revient en terrain connu, là encore le refrain est ce qu’on retient de plus fort et vibrant sur ce titre qui ferait presque penser à du Billy Talent un peu Old-School qui évolue plus dans la provocation évoquant notamment les privilèges de certaines classes. Vraiment écoutez ce refrain, il est probablement un des meilleurs sur ce premier opus! Un deuxième interlude, Singing Along donne un côté presque Vintage à cet album comme si il annonçait un vieux film mais on distingue également comme les craquements d’une vieille platine vinyle avant Lost Souls et son intro au clavier mais également son solo de guitare vraiment chouette et son intermède « Western ». Dernier titre inédit de l’album avec Die Alone, rapide, Emo, ça sonne comme la bonne vieille époque de Myspace et des années 2000, on a parfois l’impression de redécouvrir des ambiances de certains groupes comme Aiden ou I Am Ghost.
Les trois derniers titres sont des featurings mais aussi des singles avec en premier Murder Scene en featuring avec Magnolia Park, le morceau explore les thématiques de la santé mentale, la trahison et le fait d’avoir peur de toucher le fond seul. Un morceau Rock/Gothique plutôt sympa à écouter avant M.A.D cette fois-ci en duo avec Ice Nine Kills, le morceau aurait très bien pu atterrir sur un album de INK tant leur côté cinématographique est mis en avant, leur côté sombre apporte d’ailleurs une autre dimension à la composition de TX2, un côté qu’on aurait aimé voir plus exploité sur cet album avant le final sur The End Of Us avec Andy Black de Black Veil Brides. Ce dernier titre est le plus long sur l’album, un final avec une ambiance cinématographique déjà bien exploitée sur l’album, le morceau commence lentement comme une ballade où les voix des deux vocalistes se mêlent, End Of Us finit par se transformer un peu à la manière d’une composition de MCR, cette deuxième partie peut être vue comme l’effondrement et la fin de la relation évoquée dans le titre. La voix de Andy se fait plus bouleversante soutenue par les hurlements de TX2 pour un final dantesque qui donne un nouveau souffle à l’ensemble.
Avec ce premier album, TX2 s’adresse directement à sa communauté (X Movement), c’est chaotique, bouleversant tout en versant dans la nostalgie et en explorant des thèmes de société actuels! Peut-être pas un must-have mais un très bon album à écouter!

[ENGLISH VERSION] We’ve been talking about TX2 for a while now. Between his numerous single releases, his first sold-out concert in France, and his fruitful collaborations, the American artist has made TX2 an entity that has been supported by devoted fans for the past ten years. His debut album, End Of Us, marks the culmination of all this and will be available this Friday, February 13, via Hopeless Records.
Let’s be honest, half of the tracks on the album are already familiar, and we’ll start with one of the singles released just before TX2‘s Paris date: Feed, a duet with DeathbyRomy. The track plays on several interesting contrasts, notably something quite “metalcore” in the riffs before we find something softer in the verses, where the voices of the two vocalists blend perfectly, with TX2 bringing a rawer side and while the singer brings something more captivating before the riffs take over again with the frontman’s screams. Romy‘s voice continues to charm us like a vampire on the second verse, with the vampire theme evoked here particularly in the lyrics, as the duo evokes toxic attachment and emotional consumption, describing it as something exhausting. The second duet and second single with Ekoh on Nice Guy brings another idea of chaos with its rap verses, a more symphonic side with the addition of string instruments.The influences blend together here, and between My Chemical Romance and Pierce The Veil, the most emo among us will be delighted, especially with this break that seems to come straight from hell. This is followed by a short interlude, REJECT VAMPIRISM, before (WHAT A SURPRISE) another single, HOSTAGE (they will not erase us), a track full of protest, as if TX2 were trying to build their army. Here, it’s no longer about individuality but about marginal unity. HOSTAGE brings people together and is sure to be the band’s anthem going forward.
And finally, we have something new for the future with The Resistance, which is reminiscent of Yungblud at times, particularly in its more punk approach with screams, especially at the end, and a more original side than the previous tracks. 6 Shots Left continues the innovation with a few trumpet notes, a catchy track that will get the crowd moving at live shows and an anthemic chorus that will be sung (very loudly) by the fans. The Rain returns to familiar territory, with the chorus once again being the strongest and most vibrant part of this track, which is almost reminiscent of a slightly old-school Billy Talent, evolving more into provocation, notably evoking the privileges of certain classes. Really listen to this chorus, it’s probably one of the best on this first album! A second interlude, Singing Along, gives this album an almost vintage feel, as if it were announcing an old movie, but you can also hear the crackling of an old vinyl record player before Lost Souls and its keyboard intro, but also its really cool guitar solo and its “Western” interlude. The last unreleased track on the album is Die Alone,fast-paced and emo, sounding like the good old days of Myspace and the 2000s. At times, it feels like rediscovering the vibe of bands like Aiden or I Am Ghost.
The last three tracks are collaborations but also singles, starting with Murder Scene featuring Magnolia Park. The song explores themes of mental health, betrayal, and the fear of hitting rock bottom alone. It’s a pretty cool rock/gothic track to listen to before M.A.D, this time featuring Ice Nine Kills. The song could easily have been included on an INK album, as its cinematic qualities are so prominent. Its dark side adds another dimension to the composition of TX2, a side that we would have liked to see exploited more on this album before the finale on The End Of Us with Andy Black from Black Veil Brides. This last track is the longest on the album, a finale with a cinematic atmosphere already well exploited on the album. The song starts slowly like a ballad where the voices of the two vocalists blend together, but End Of Us ends up transforming itself a bit like a MCR composition. This second part can be seen as the collapse and end of the relationship evoked in the title. Andy‘s voice becomes more moving, supported by TX2‘s screams for a Dante-esque finale that breathes new life into the whole.
With this first album, TX2 speaks directly to its community (X Movement). It’s chaotic and moving, while also indulging in nostalgia and exploring current social issues! Perhaps not a must-have, but a very good album to listen to!
