[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Le 8 septembre dernier marquait le retour de Scene Queen sur scène à Paris cette fois-ci en Headliner au Backstage après avoir assurée la première partie de PVRIS au Trabendo. Elle est accompagnée sur sa tournée par le groupe Lake Malice qui est une totale découverte pour nous! Merci à Lorraine de Opus Live pour les accréditations.
Lake Malice va donc ouvrir cette bonne soirée et c’est sous les applaudissements et les acclamations du public que le groupe investit la scène. La salle est déjà plutôt bien remplie et ne cessera de se remplir jusqu’à l’arrivée de Scene Queen. Mais revenons à Lake Malice qui ouvre son set avec Scatterbrain, et d’entrée de jeu le public réagit plutôt, c’est énergique et le groupe mené par Alice au chant semble très heureux d’être là. Creepers voit l’arrivée d’un Wall Of Death en plein milieu du titre lancé par la chanteuse, bien sûr exécuté avec joie par le public présent. Elle continue en présentant le morceau Eternal December et raconte qu’elle est d’origine italienne mais qu’elle vit en Angleterre depuis une dizaine d’années maintenant avant de commencer à jouer le titre. Mitsuko continue à enflammer l’assistance avec un circle-pit sur lequel le guitariste viendra jouer en plein milieu, un bon moment d’unité entre le public et le groupe avant Stop The Party sur lequel Alice invite la fosse à se déchaîner. Le guitariste finira d’ailleurs par laisser son instrument de côté pour frapper sur une grosse caisse. C’est sur Bloodbath et Blossom que va se clôturer le set de Lake Malice, Alice quitte la scène en remerciant le public à plusieurs reprises et pour résumer ce premier concert de la soirée, on ne peut que reconnaître que Lake Malice a été une superbe découverte sur laquelle on se penchera plus à l’avenir!
Cela fait déjà plus années qu’on attendait ENFIN de voir Scene Queen en France, et…TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! C’est avec BDSM que la chanteuse va monter sur scène, et dès les premières notes, c’est l’euphorie la plus totale! ça danse, ça hurle les paroles et on passe dès le premier morceau, un super moment, Pink Push-Up Bra continue à enflammer la salle avant que Scene Queen ne prenne la parole pour la première fois pour un « Bonjour Paris », elle est heureuse d’être à Paris ce soir pour sa première fois dans la ville en Headliner et le public lui rend bien ce bonheur. Elle continue a interagir à de nombreuses reprises avec le public notamment en demandant si des filles sont venues à son concert parce que les hommes les rendent dingues apparemment la réponse est oui, vu le nombre de mains qui se lèvent. La reine enchaîne avec Platform Shoes sorti il y’a peu de temps et auquel les fans réservent un très bon accueil pour la version live, nouveau discours (seul bémol à ce set : ça parle BEAUCOUP trop et BEAUCOUP trop longtemps même si l’artiste évoque des choses essentielles et nécessaires) sur les droits des personnes trans, être fiers de qui on est mais elle déclare également faire de la musique pour lutter contre la transphobie et la mysoginie…Comme si ce n’était pas flagrant dès le départ!
Elle dédiera MILF aux Hot Moms (Milf) avant le banger Hot Singles In Your Area avant lequel elle explique qu’elle vient d’une ville très conservatrice et qu’elle voulait s’affranchir de certaines choses en créant une musique anti-conservatrice. Elle finit par faire monter trois fans sur scène pour leur demander de se présenter en incluant leurs pronoms et en invitant le public à respecter ceci et en faisant répéter les dogmes de son culte ou plutôt de sa safe-place. Le set continue avec Mutual Masturbation sur lequel elle présente ses bimbros à savoir son guitariste et son batteur, mais elle profite aussi de ce moment pour remercier Lake Malice. Sur Barbie & Ken en duo avec son guitariste, on a l’impression que l’ambiance monte encore d’un cran avant de chanter un « Joyeux anniversaire » à une fan présente, la chanteuse s’essayera même à la version française mais de façon assez laborieuse avant de finir par apprendre que la fan en question est…anglaise!
La fin du set approche avec Pink Rover, sur lequel elle divise la salle pour descendre rejoindre les fans et profiter d’un petit bain de foule avant de lancer l’iconique +18, l’ambiance est à son apogée, le morceau finit de tous nous achever! Un concert dingue, une artiste incroyable, engagée tout en restant également drôle et qu’on a déjà hâte de revoir bientôt.
[ENGLISH VERSION] September 8 marked Scene Queen‘s return to the stage in Paris, this time as the headliner at Backstage after opening for PVRIS at Trabendo. She is accompanied on her tour by the band Lake Malice, which is a total discovery for us! Thanks to Lorraine from Opus Live for the accreditations.
Lake Malice opened the show, and the band took the stage to applause and cheers from the audience. The venue was already pretty full and continued to fill up until Scene Queen arrived. But let’s get back to Lake Malice, who opened their set with Scatterbrain, and right from the start, the audience reacted enthusiastically. It was energetic, and the band, led by Alice on vocals, seemed very happy to be there. Creepers saw the arrival of a wall of death in the middle of the song, initiated by the singer and, of course, joyfully executed by the audience. She continues by introducing the song Eternal December and tells the audience that she is of Italian origin but has been living in England for about ten years now before starting to play the song. Mitsuko continues to fire up the crowd with a circle pit, which the guitarist joins in the middle, creating a great moment of unity between the audience and the band before Stop The Party, during which Alice invites the crowd to go wild. The guitarist ends up putting his instrument aside to bang on a bass drum. Lake Malice‘s set ends with Bloodbath and Blossom, and Alice leaves the stage, thanking the audience several times. To sum up this first concert of the evening, we can only acknowledge that Lake Malice was a superb discovery that we will be looking into more in the future!
We’ve been waiting for years to FINALLY see Scene Queen in France, and…TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! The singer takes to the stage with BDSM, and from the very first notes, the crowd goes wild! People are dancing, screaming the lyrics, and we’re having a great time from the very first song. Pink Push-Up Bra continues to set the room on fire before Scene Queen speaks for the first time, saying “Bonjour Paris.” She is happy to be in Paris tonight for her first time in the city as a headliner, and the audience returns her happiness. She continues to interact with the audience on numerous occasions, notably by asking if any girls have come to her concert because men drive them crazy. Apparently the answer is yes, given the number of hands raised. The queen follows up with Platform Shoes, released not long ago, which the fans give a very warm welcome to in its live version, followed by another speech (the only downside to this set: she talks WAY too much and WAY too long, even if the artist is talking about essential and necessary things) about trans rights and being proud of who you are, but she also declares that she makes music to fight against transphobia and misogyny… As if that wasn’t obvious from the start!

The set continues with Mutual Masturbation, during which she introduces her bimbros, namely her guitarist and drummer, but she also takes this opportunity to thank Lake Malice. On Barbie & Ken, a duet with her guitarist, the atmosphere seems to rise another notch before she sings “Happy Birthday” to a fan in the audience. The singer even attempts the French version, albeit rather laboriously, before finally learning that the fan in question is… English!
The end of the set approaches with Pink Rover, during which she splits the room to go down and join the fans and enjoy a little crowd surfing before launching into the iconic +18. The atmosphere is at its peak, and the song finishes us all off! A crazy concert, an incredible artist, committed yet funny, and we can’t wait to see her again soon.
