[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW] Le troisième album studio de The Devil’s Trade « The Call Of The Iron Peak » est sorti via Season Of Mist à la fin du mois d’août (oui je rattrape mon retard).
Auteur, compositeur, interprète, multi-instrumentiste, le hongrois Dávid Máko (The Devil’s Trade) a donc plusieurs cordes à son arc. Mais il sait également bien s’entourer : Robert Bordas (Grindesign) pour l’artwork, Márton et Peter Szabó pour les parties de batterie, Adam Vincze sur le titre qui donne son nom à l’album « The Call Of The Iron Peak » aux cuillers et pichets (étonnant mariage). Rita et Kornél Szabó s’occupent quant à eux du triangle sur le titre « Dead Sister« .
Le musicien nous plonge dans un univers dark/folk mélancolique à souhait. Pour ses inspirations pour cet album, il a puisé dans les contes et légendes appalaches, hongroises et transylvaniennes. La guitare et le banjo sont toujours plus intenses notamment sur le morceau éponyme et final de cet opus. La voix de Dávid fait ressentir milles émotions et ce sur chaque titre. Quand aux mélodies, elles s’inscrivent parfaitement dans la lignée de ce voyage vers l’ « Iron Peak » qui est un lieu mystique et silencieux où l’on vient trouver la paix au moment de mourir (pourrait-on appeler ça une sorte de Paradis?) et prennent aux tripes.
Le morceau « Három Árva » est interprété en hongrois et conte une légende de Kalotaszeg. Un des morceaux les plus prenants de l’album qui conte l’histoire de trois orphelins maltraités par leur grand-mère et qui tentent d’entrer en contact avec leur mère décédée afin qu’elle puisse les aider, ils arrivent à entrer en contact avec elle mais elle ne peut malheureusement rien faire pour aider ses enfants.
« The Call Of The Iron Peak » est un album d’une beauté sans nom. Cet album invite à un voyage presque spirituel qui mêle des sentiments très contradictoires (angoisse/apaisement/tristesse…). Un artiste à découvrir et à continuer à soutenir en cette période bien sombre.

The Devil’s Trade‘s third studio album « The Call Of The Iron Peak » was released via Season Of Mist at the end of August (yes I’m catching up).
Songwriter, composer, performer, multi-instrumentalist, the Hungarian Dávid Máko (The Devil’s Trade) has several strings to his bow. But he also knows how to surround himself well: Robert Bordas (Grindesign) for the artwork, Márton and Peter Szabó for the drum parts, Adam Vincze on the title that gives his name to the album « The Call Of The Iron Peak » to the spoons and pitchers (amazing marriage). Rita and Kornél Szabó take care of the triangle on the track « Dead Sister« .
The musician plunges us into a melancholic dark/folk universe. For his inspirations for this album, he has drawn from Appalachian, Hungarian and Transylvanian tales and legends. The guitar and banjo are always more intense, especially on the eponymous and final track of this opus. Dávid‘s voice makes you feel a thousand emotions on each track. As for the melodies, they are perfectly in line with this journey to the « Iron Peak » which is a mystical and silent place where one comes to find peace at the moment of death (could we call it a kind of Paradise?) and take to the guts.
The song « Három Árva » is performed in Hungarian and tells a Kalotaszeg legend. One of the most captivating tracks on the album is about three orphans who are mistreated by their grandmother and try to get in touch with their dead mother so that she can help them. They manage to get in touch with her but unfortunately she can’t do anything to help her children.
« The Call Of The Iron Peak » is an album of nameless beauty. This album invites to an almost spiritual journey which mixes very contradictory feelings (anguish/peacefulness/ sadness…). An artist to be discovered and to continue to support in this very dark period.
