La musique de Exitium Sui est un savant mélange entre le Black, le Doom et le Death Metal. Cet album fait donc suite à l’EP The Sinister Business Of Selling Hope.
La noirceur intense propre à E.S. (tout instruments/chant et membre de I Am All Wounds, Lebenssucht et Humanitas Error Est entre autres) se fait ressentir de manière forte dès le premier titre Eviscerate My Withered Soul avec son intro opressante. On retrouve ici des éléments du Doom notamment le côté très lent mais aussi les hurlements propres au style Black Metal.
The Long Return To Nothing pioche quand à lui des influences du côté DSBM, un morceau qui ferait penser pour son côté instrumental à une B.O de film d’horreur. Un morceau magnifique avec des orchestrations qui apportent une ambiance encore plus fantomatique.
Tragedy In D Minor commence avec des notes de clavier avant qu’un piano prenne le relai pour apporter un côté presque mélancolique. La partie mélodique ténébreuse prend une grande place dans ce morceau même si il finit par révéler toute sa puissance. Le chant clair de Portia Gebauer apporte un côté Black à l’ensemble qui pencherait plus du côté du Funeral Doom (voir du Gothique). On a presque l’impression que cet album a été composé comme une bande-originale de film tant le côté B.O de film catastrophe se ressent sur ce titre.
Nothing Left To Give est un court interlude au piano, une petite pause douce avant de plonger une dernière fois dans les abysses. Which Fate Is Ours To Come conclut donc ce premier album. Ce morceau est très intense et comme sur Tragedy In D Minor, le chant clair revient pour un duo vocal au contraste saisissant.
La noirceur de Exitium Sui va encore engloutir son auditoire. Ce disque est un pur mélange de désespoir et d’opression. Pour les oreilles averties.

The music of Exitium Sui is a clever mix between Black, Doom and Death Metal. This album is a follow-up to the EP The Sinister Business Of Selling Hope.
The intense darkness of E.S. (all instruments/vocals and member of I Am All Wounds, Lebenssucht and Humanitas Error Est among others) is strongly felt from the first track Eviscerate My Withered Soul with its opressing intro. One finds here elements of the Doom in particular the very slow side but also the howls proper to the Black Metal style.
The Long Return To Nothing has influences from the DSBM side, a track that would make you think of a horror movie soundtrack for its instrumental side. A magnificent track with orchestrations that bring an even more ghostly atmosphere.
Tragedy In D Minor starts with keyboard notes before a piano takes over to bring an almost melancholic side. The dark melodic part takes a great place in this piece even if it ends up revealing all its power. Portia Gebauer‘s clear singing brings a Black side to the whole that would lean more towards Funeral Doom (see Gothic). One almost has the impression that this album was composed like a film soundtrack, so much the B.O. side of catastrophe film is felt on this title.
Nothing Left To Give is a short piano interlude, a gentle pause before plunging into the abyss one last time. Which Fate Is Ours To Come concludes this first album. This track is very intense and as on Tragedy In D Minor, the clear vocals come back for a vocal duet with a striking contrast.
The darkness of Exitium Sui will again engulf its audience. This record is a pure mixture of despair and opression. For the discerning ears.
